Mzungu seems to be used veryj flexibly cause I’ve heard Indians and Latinos being called that too. Inaccurate, maybe?

@ainoluo , an Indian would be Mhindi. I don't know the Swahili name for Latino...maybe Mlatino? 😆

@@ainoluo Most of the Latinos are indeed Mzungu (Europeans), even in America they rightfully identify as so, much to the dismay of the Europeans over there. But I've never heard a Kenyan refer to an Indian as "mzungu." I wonder where you heard that one. Indians in Kenya are simply referred to by their proper Swahili names: Mhindi/Wahindi or Kalasinga

@@Eliteboy254 I am obviously referring to non-white Latinos, some who were called “negro” in their own country (but that’s a whole another topic as these things can be messed up there as well). With Indians (and Arabs), there’s been a few who have told me they’ve been called mzungu, all of them were foreigners, not for example Kenyan Indians. Personally I’m not very interested in typifying and boxing up people and usually don’t mention their ethnicity unless it’s somehow relevant because that’s how I grew up in a multi-ethnicity neighbourhood and among friends who couldn’t have cared less. I’ve had to get used to the fact that you’ll often hear people being (sometimes mistakenly and loudly) labelled even in situations where it shouldn’t matter, such as when I’m with my partner which I spoke about in the video (this never happened on dates with non-white men before). It’s lovely if you haven’t experienced this since it’s starting to get a bit tiring, as is discounting other people’s experiences.

@@MaggioDiJoe If you have the budget, I think Westlands can be a nice area to stay for 3 months on your first stay as there are shops, restaurants, cafes, bars, nightclubs and the dance school where I go to, Empire Dance Kenya. You can also look into Kileleshwa, Kilimani, Lavington, maybe Spring Valley.

@@MaggioDiJoe actually, no! It is my Chinese name that I got more than a decade ago and used in China. When I came to Kenya, people started calling me that and by chance it’s also my man’s tribe ☺️
