I'm so glad you showed this. I was wondering about the air gun and dispatching animals. I think you just sold me a North American Trapper air rifle
Let me assure you that rifle is NOT shooting a pellet at 1200 fps. Maybe...850 or 800. Still looks like it got the job done though. I would like to know if have dispatched a coyote with said rifle. That would be something, dispatching a coyote with 12 foot pounds of energy! Great video! Great channel!
Hey mate not that it matters that much (as the results of quick death speaks for itself), your estimation of 1100-1200 fps is a bit overestimated. I would say your pellets, especially at 10ish grains will be going 800-850 fps max. Air rifle companies like to say they get 1200, but thats using super light pellets, as well as doing something called dieseling, which is very bad for the gun itself. Anway as i said it doesnt matter as you're still killing efficiently, but just thought id put my 2 cents in. Nice video 👍
That is good information and we are always open to learning. It’s most likely the same scenario as anything at its release point will always be faster before gravity and other conditions take over. All in all, the fact that it is efficiently and quickly dispatching is the desired response. Be well.
Always used a 74 in 22 short, slower than what your using. Haven’t trapped in 30+ years but enjoy watching
nice job on showing the dispatch , that pellet rifle did a clean job on it .
As a WCO, thank you for this
Thanks for that . I'm going to got a ruger air rifle in 177 I use it all the time because it's cheaper than a 22 lr. To shot and you can find the ammo for it .
We offer a great Crossman model at a great price. Good luck.

I may be mistaken but are most of the furbearers in Pa to be dispatched with a .22 not the.177 as mentioned just checking not finding fault would like clarification, all the best
Thanks, real life trap line!
Do you always dispatch in head or behind shoulder ?
Yes except Skunk which is done behind front shoulder like a Big Game animal.
@@NorthAmericanTrapperTV thanks for showing that video. I know it’s a sensitive subject. Need to check out using an air rifle for dispatch

What grain pellets are you using?
.177
@@NorthAmericanTrapperTV sorry but I meant what grain of .177 pellets? They vary from about 5 to 16 grains…
@@homesteadoutdoors8767 My bad. I use the 10.5 Piranha but all three of these work fine.

Why do you kill them?
Fir

@@NorthernTrapperOutdoors Disgusting and absolutely unnecessary!
