I have been having great results using my trustee REMINGTON F-5800 dual foil shaver with the cutters in-between. Gets very close, job is done quickly, and the replacement heads are available for as low as $10-11, with the machine itself costing just $45 at either Walmart or Amazon. The BaBilyss pro foil (silver) however, is by far the best and closest cutting machine I have ever used to date at a higher price point. Thanks for the videos, subbed ....
Appreciate this review. I bought this Thanksgiving day for a steal 149.00 from Bed Bath and Beyond because of a sale plus additional 25% off. I love it. My head is smooth as ever.
This will be my next buy,,, I use Babyliss Pro Foil Shaver to keep ontop of my bald dome every 2 days it works fine... To many soppy people giving negative reviews on amazon about this,, it did your head fine and that's good enough for me 👌🏾
This is way better than the Babyliss pro foil mainly because if you buy the model with the clean and renew charge station, the shaver is basically brand new for your next shave after the cleaning cycle is complete. Babyliss pro foil doesn’t have any automatic cleaning feature.
@@mrbabajidee3133 WHat did you get? I think I am going to get the Arc 5. 150 on Amazon plus I have some gift card balance I can apply. I enjoy my Babyiss FX 2, but getting tired of having to use every 2 days or its a struggle. I did get my money's worth though, almost 3 years running.
Thanks for the review bro. I bought the series 9 from Costco. The first time I used it it gave me skin irritation. Just redness in the back of my neck. It never happened again, and now I love the damn thing. Cuts my hair super close. I get lots of irritation from razors so this turned out to be great for me. I’ve never seen it cause bumps, hope that doesn’t start happening. I cut myself worth it once, damn this thing gets close.
SO far what's working for me is balding with my Wahl balding clippers and following it up with the Braun Series 3 to knock down the stubble even further down. No irritation or bumps so far.
Finally arrived and tried it, minor irritation, nothing compared to razors, so I recommend it. It's awesome how soft my head is after a 10 minute session with this BEAST. Thank you, your vid helped me decide.
I wouldn't recommend it. This type of shaver works better with flat skin even skin. Your face and head is pretty much the limit for what this thing can do.
Quiz question I got the shaver but am still getting the razor bumps, what could be the problem yet I thought this was going to solve the problems. Help me out.
Just get the Braun 7 Series it's cheaper and it cut cloth just like the Braun 9. And the replacement head on the 7 is cheaper. The only thing you going to need to buy is the Andis T liner to cut it first for the long hair, before you use the Braun 7 Series.
How long is "long hair" (head) ? I let mine get maybe 1/16" before shaving(blade); looking for an electric that i can use ,"1--stop-shop" to get near-bald(like 1/32") without having to hit it first with a clipper/trimmer....
Hi! How are you? I'm Brazilian fan and recently tested the philips norelco s9000 prestige and my dad has the braun series 9, both are excellent shavers plus a negative bridge from the foil shavers are the annoying noise and are not good for those who have very sensitive skin. I had the old philips model, but it has no comparison with this new model (prestige), the good points of the foil is that it does not need to make precise movements to shave like the rotary model. I can not say that foils are better than rotators because they both have their positive sides. Yeah, I’ve heard a lot of people like the Arc but worth mentioning, the Arc 5 replacement heads are about twice the price. If you average one per year it’ll cost you $150 USD more over 5 years to run the Arc 5 over a Series 9.
I have to use electric razors. With safety or cartridge I get razor bumps bad. I have a norelco. I like it but get tired of the circular motions to get a clean shave. I need to get me that Braun
I've been using mine and i think i can get about 40 or 50 mins before a recharge. I've heard there's a new series 9 model that has a 20% battery increase so it can go up to an hour.
Was considering this but it cost SO MUCH, Plus whenever I use a eletric razor on my head i tend to get irritation and bumps. Gonna think about this or safety razors, i'm currently using Harrys and it works nice but I shave 2-3 times a week on my head and face.
I have read some bad stories on using Harry's for the head. Harry's advises themselves against head shaving. I tried them out and did not like the design of the blade. Kind of akward for me to use. Love the defender razor. I use it for head and face. I recommend the sensitive skin blades.
If you get a chance try the Phillips series 9000 prestige wet shave with a shaving gel without the irritation bumps nothing just baby soft skin. Just light circular motion & 5 min you’re done. This foil shaver doesn’t do a great job for me also just too many passes to get it done. I returned it.
Hey Andy, are you a black male? Just wondering because I am looking at the razor you are suggesting and I was wondering if it shaves bald. Every time I use an electric razor, It is not close enough. My wife is tired of using clippers on me, lol.
I been using the Braun Series 9 for four months. I get those same bumps on the back of my neck. I'm trying to decide. Should I try using a different foil shaver like the Wahl Sensitive Shaver or Use some other method
If you use the Andis Profoil and just lightly apply it to your neck or face it cuts like a dream, its as close to a safety razor as you can get and still be electric. The Braun 9 Series for me was like using a cheap electric lawnmower over really thick grass, it'll cut eventually but it struggles and it doesn't look as good.
@@4nciite doesn't your head hair have to be quite short already (like 1/16" max) before hitting it with the Andis ? I'm looking for a "one-stop-shop" electric shaver that will reliably do that, to get me near bald(doesn't have to be totally bald)

Thank you for the video. I'm interested in getting it. I use a safety razor, and the andis foil shaver. How long do the foils last on the BRAUN? Thank you again.
I really enjoy by Babyliss Pro Foil fx, but 2 days is pretty much the limit for good cutting. Anything more and I need to finish with a razor blade. What did you end up getting?
Depends how sensitive your skin is but typically foil shavers are gentler than contact razors. I get a little bit of razor rash just underneath my jaw line, but it's better than my regular razor. As for cutting depth a foil razor will cut slightly above the skin.
Yes, I am a witness that they do cause razor rash. key is to not press hard....to let your skin go through the foil....take your time....and use after shave.

I explained my results in the video
They say all of them do until you get used to it
Smoother shaving after a week with S9 plus
A few speckals left behind
Used cleaner but stingy 5 mins later
Do you think this would work well for my legs? Us ladies with thick leg hair need some help 😅
Thanks for the review. Any chance you can cut your head with it? Husband has a stroke so he lost use of needs his dominant hand. Looking for something he can use on himself - he doesn’t complain but I am just not cutting it as his barber.
Hi, did husband find a good electric shaver to cut his own head ? I'm looking.....
Andis Profoil? I have a Series 7 that I sometimes use for my head. As always, great vid.
Yeah that's the one! Couldn't think of the name.
Do you think you get a smoother finish on your head with the 9 vs the 7?
Hey bro i use that device as well! My question to you is, do you use any type of shaving cream ? How do you prep for a shave? Im new to the bald game, please share products that you recommend. Thanks bro

I have sensitive skin when shaving my beard. So am try find better shaving clipper I can buy that don't cause me rash or itch skin after shaving.
Same. Did you find anything yet
Andis t outliners bother your skin? That's the only thing I can use
In my opinion the only safe bet for all black men are clippers, trimmers, maybe magic shave and maybe the Gillette skin guard.
Panasonic Arc 5!!!
Have you ever tried the pitbull gold by skull shaver?
I would like to see a review on Panasonic arc 5
I'll do some research on it 💪🏽
Omni Shaver, Shave your head bald clean in under 1 Minute. Do you have a review on the Omni Shaver?
No but you sound like you work for the company & low-key advertising on my page. Send me one
N@@NateMatthews LOL, Nahh, not me. I ordered 4 of them from Indiegogo it's where you support peoples idea and inventions. It's already out on the Market. I gave two to two friends of mine and they love it. I kept two for me, I just got my SMP done and Extremely happy with the results. So I will be buzzing my hair every other day, and will be saving the head shaves for when I am away on vacation and in the water ;o)
@@ELEVOPR re: Omnishaver, can u use it to go from about (in my case) head hair that's abt 1/16" long, down to nearly bald (i dont need completely bald, just close) ??
@@tms6565 From What ai understand It will Bald You Out. Only 0000 Clipper Blade or T Liner Blade With Not bald you out. I used Electric Foil Razor for my SMP and it Balds me out as well. Clippers or T Outliners are your best bet.
Hi, just saw your channel. What can you recommend sir, I don’t want it with no hair, i usually use #1 (sorry, don’t know what it’s called). I guess the proper term that i am looking for is trimmer?
Hey man you should try the new Gillette guard bump free razor
Thank you for the video. I'm interested in getting it. I use a safety razor, and the andis foil shaver. How long do the foils last on the BRAUN? Thank you again.
Braun Series 9 shaver cassettes are designed for up to 18 months of use before requiring replacement.
Has anyone done a comparison between these and the Babyliss pro foil fx02 ? Can't decide on which one to get.
I really enjoy by Babyliss Pro Foil fx, but 2 days is pretty much the limit for good cutting. Anything more and I need to finish with a razor blade. What did you end up getting?
I want to use them to shave my face. Does foils cause razor rash (darkening of skin)? Do they cut hair above or below the skin?
Depends how sensitive your skin is but typically foil shavers are gentler than contact razors. I get a little bit of razor rash just underneath my jaw line, but it's better than my regular razor. As for cutting depth a foil razor will cut slightly above the skin.
Yes, I am a witness that they do cause razor rash. key is to not press hard....to let your skin go through the foil....take your time....and use after shave.
Nate I shave my butt with harry's. Do you think that is safe or should I use the traditional razor like you? Either way right now I got a hairy ass.
Nate hi man use some clubman talc powder bless
before or after you shave?
For myself, my skin gets extremely irritated especially on the back of the neck, I hope this makes a difference
Definitely, the bumps on the neck line are the worst.
Nate I got a question for you. I'm new to shaving and I hacked my head up with cheap razors..will my head ever look as fresh and healthy as yours?
Spencer Jones Shop around for some higher quality razors and over time you’ll get the technique down 👌
This is where I'm as well. Head doesn't appear as smooth as I'd like. Considering one of these electric shavers
Okay 👌
Will this shave closer than my Braun Series 3? Thanks
Nowhere near
Hello Nate. I’m thinking of to buy a Braun Series 7 with station for a good price. And I’m wondering if it’s big difference between Brain Series 7 and 9? Cause i wonder how close the Braun series 7 shaves and if it gets the head totally but shaved without taking a lot of time in the bathroom. Does it gets as close as andis profil shaver or better? Appreciate the answer
So you use witch hazel and after shave after every shave?
Yes, just about. If not witch hazel... Some type of aftershave gel/lotion
Great video!! Yeah I have tried a foil shaver 1x the shave was too close for me and I had bumps everywhere!! The cut was clean though lol!! I can only shave with the grain! 👊🏾
Aha them foils ain't no joke. Last time I used a safety razor against the grain tho I didn't get any irritation/bumps. I guess another factor is just how many times it's being done 🤷🏽♂️
