I have the series 5 without the cleaning solution. I have used the shaver for a year, and I love it. I have now recently thought and made my own cleaning solution in 2 cup plastic of bowl with half Great Value extra virgin olive oil and half 91% Isopropyl Alcohol. I've never been able to clean my shaver so fast and so thoroughly in my life lol.

I'm one of those who suggested getting this. I would suggest keeping the shaver head locked in place and using longer strokes against the grain. Try not to go back and forth over and over or you will irritate your scalp, especially around the ears. If you're using shave soap, reapply as you work your way around your head otherwise it'll get sticky and you'd be better off dry shaving. I noticed after 6 months of daily use that the machine was taking longer to shave my head and the battery would drain quicker. I bought a replacement head and it's like brand new again. Glad you liked the shave, Nate. Hopefully the was no irritation for you!
Agreed. That way I could use more pressure vs having it slide around. I noticed the stickiness too. I thought a dry shave might've been better too. Only shaved wet to compare with my usual routine. Thanks for the recommendation.
I have super-sensitive skin. I've done multi-bladed razors, straight razor at the barber shop, generic electric razors, and this razor. No, the Braun 9 did not "solve" my skin issues, but it is the best I've had yet. I use Nivea beard gel after every shave. Yes, the razor is expensive (iPad level ~ $500). Yes, blades are expensive ($90 for a new one, but I got a price match to $50 at a company going into bankruptcy, with approx. 1-2 years usage), but it's still been the best shaver I've had in my life. As long as I shave 2 days before a business meeting the accumulated hair is well taken care of without damage to my skin. We men have to deal with beard hair as part of our anatomy and the Series 9 is a great tool which I would recommend to anyone.
Nate, I have been using electric shavers for more than 30 years. Just want to point a few things out: 1. This Braun shaver is not designed for shaving head skin, only face and neck skin. The skin on the head is a different quality and there are specific shavers for that. 2. Unlike a blade--The most effective performance on a electric shaver is after a shower on a DRY CLEAN face and neck. Squeaky clean. When you use the products you are using--it takes away the effectiveness of the shaver and reduces the friction needed for the Braun cutters to give you a close shave. Always clean and dry--no moisture if possible. Otherwise, you are very entertaining and keep up the good videos!
The trick to using these electric razors ( and I've used several Braun Series 7, 9 & the Panasonic Arc 4 and 5) is that you have to cut the hairs down as much as you can before you use an electric razor like this no matter how fancy or expensive it is. I usually take the Andis clippers and cut my hair off as much as possible and then use my electric razor. To me these electric razors are just like buffers for your hair. After you use your hair trimmer to get your scalp as bald as possible then you go over it with this to cut all the hairs that are left. Using this process will make the electric razors do the job they're intended to do.
that's what I'm planning to do, i don't understand why so many just start with the shaver when the hair isn't minimal, I'm going to go over it with my sterling 2 then use my new Braun 9 pro. going bald tomorrow, kinda nervous af but its gotta be done,
Here is a great great 👉 pount.👏👏👏👏👍🏾. Too expensive for me... I go with Wahl balding 5 stars and planning to use Freedom grooming flex series for an everyday 3 days buffing... thank you. Saving money and faster. In about 10 minutes balding head and face all clean. Good to go to the shower. No waste of time...
How do you like the Pro 9? I love mine so far. I shaved 4 day growth on face and head in about 5-6 minutes. Sure, it is not baby bald feeling, but for the few times I just need that feeling, I can go over with a razor. @@Mr---mr4ll
I also think some go in not using the product as intended. The regular Series 9 say up to 3 days. I bought the 9 Pro because it can do up to 7 days growth. I have tested up to 4 day growth and it cut fast. I might try 5 day growth next time, but I don't let my hair get that way much anymore so who knows if it can handle 7 days of my hair. The key is "Up to". This shaver may not give the smooth feeling, but it allows freedom to shave less. Even the mighty Arc 5 is not intended for longer hairs like the Brauns.
I had a Braun 3 and upgraded to the 9, foil shavers are gentle, with less irritation. Also, the blades only need to be change every 18 months, that’s hundreds of dollars in savings.
I got mine last night from best buy $300.00 Braun Series 9 9376cc and it is amazing highly recommend for black men I use it as a head shaver and I have zero razor bumps

For me I found shaving them wet with a good shaving oil was the best for me. Took it off like it was nothing. Shaving it dry definitely gave me some irritation. Different strokes for different folks I guess
I use the Braun 740-S7 on my face with shave soap. I use the Van Der Hagen shave soap. I used to use the Lectric shave but I noticed I always had to go over spots. With that shave soap I can get a clean shave without having to constantly go back over spots. I just barely started using the shave soap with my Braun 7 like a couple months ago. For my head I use the same Van Der Hagen shave soap but I use a Gillette Fusion and I go WITH the grain! I haven’t had any irritation and been shaving my head for years! After shave I use the Cremo Post shave balm.
I just bought the 8 series and did a dry shave. Works excellent on my face and bald head. Best shaver yet. Want to try a wet shave after I buy that soap you used.
Question, should I still buy an oil for the blades or is the cleaning system good enough? It says it's suppose to clean as well as oil. I just wanna make sure.
I have never have god results with those types of shavers. I have found that a straight razor and safety razor are the best way to get a great close share! Great video!
I use the same shaver on my head try using it dry it shaves faster and since it’s cutting above skin you should get irritation . I have sensitive skin also. And then use tend skin for razor bumps . I have not had issues since
I recently got a Braun series 7 and I love it. It does have an adjustment period for your skin (they say 1-2 weeks, more like 3-4 for me) but after that it really does a fantastic job. I actually stopped using DEs because of it. The only blade I own anymore is my Parker shavette that I use for line ups. That burn you got may have come from using it wet. I know it seems counterintuitive but I find my Braun 7 is much more efficient and comfortable when used bone dry. Water and or lather seem to cause it to drag.
@@willjavtor I have but I'm currently not shaving my head. On my face I get a BBS on par with the best blade shaves but in half the time with no irritation. Good review thank you. I have one after seeing so many glowing reviews. But I’ve found it also doesn’t go anywhere near as close as a DE razor. So, if I have alot of growth, I’ll use it 1st pass to get the bulk off without any trouble, and 2nd pass I’ll switch to the DE razor. I do that every once and awhile. Is it worth the investment…not in my book.

I'm telling you, I would of paid 1k to not have to go through what i went through with the razor burn on the $50 andis....... so im no longer desiring to go cheap....I want the best tool for the job.
I have always had better luck shaving my face with a Braun dry...just got the series 9, series 7 lasted me shaving my face every two days for about 7 years...
What's up bro first I want to say that I have become a fan of all of your videos. And thank you for a lot of tips you give us now I have been using the Braun Series 7 for over a year now and I love it. I use it on my face and head I Perchers the Braun Series 9 a few months ago and I didn't like it so I took it back. The Braun Series 7 is better for African American and Latino men in my Opinion so thanks for everything and keep doing your thing bro.
What I think would help is a shave oil instead of soap. there is pre-shave oils that help the hair and produce a slippery surface to shave. I know that the burn goes away because switching from a razor to electric it takes time for your skin to adjust about 10 shaves or so. Its not slicing the hair rather than grinding which is different. Which also helps with bumps so it should be excellent for your neck as well. Overall your presentation was excellent!
That's what this shaver is for, he had stuble growth. It would've took homie a hour if had more hair. This shaver is not worth it. I use babosol electric wet/dry shaver $40 bucks. 10 minutes for face and head.
I have tested panasonic and braun, have both still. But they cut terribly when used with foam even though they say it can do it for me it just does horrible. They cut best on dry skin. I have been using foil shaver for a good 8 years every day and for me dry shaving works the best at least with my skin and with my hair.
I had the first Braun series 1, which J purchased in 2000. It just failed on me, so after 19 years of using it, I've now purchased the series 9. I'm assuming with all that tech in it , it's not going to last anywhere bear 19 years.
Hi Nate what clippers and electric shaver do you recommend that are not weak or slice and dice like? Been looking around for some clippers or electric shaver for my bald head that will be a easy shave, but they either come across inconsistent(electric shavers) or like those wahl clippers can be, slicing the skin and such. Tho id rather them strong than weak any day. Nice to see your still on the youtube btw
Glade you finally got one bro ! Works way better than Wahls and andis . Now I need for you to review a Blackland Vector single edge artist club razor. I guarantee you if you use the vector you will get rid of your double edge razor
Good review, think ill buy one now going to be using same as you did. Might start off with dry shave and see how it goes. But you cant beat a regular bic type of blade 😅
when i wet shave my face i use he nivea cooling post shave balm and it really helps i highly recommend it i have sensitive skin therefore i buy the sensitive one but they do a moisturising one for those who don't have sensitive skin.
I got their 7 series and have been using it for a few years now. Not sure if its worth the upgrade yet. Edit: these do so much better with a dry shave. Yes it's capable of being used for a wet shave, but it's not what it's originally meant for.
I tried it all and the only thing that gives me little to no ingrown hairs are my T-Outliners. Everything else...I bump up like a mofo. The T-Outliners though...night and day difference. Even says it straight on the box...."best for dry-shaving." I still prep my face for shaving with a warm towel. The T-Outliners does the trick for me. But hey, to each their own. If the Braun works great for you...great. Only thing that works for me is the T-Outliners.
I also get rashes, alot of pimples or zits adter shaving whenever i shave too close to the skin. Im looking for something that would do the job gor a long time

Great vid. Have you considered reviewing the BaBylissPRO FOILFX02 ? I'm hearing REALLY good things about it cutting wise. I'm going to pull the trigger on it in a few weeks. My Braun 7 is holding me down until then.
Late to the show, but having owned the Babyliss FX 2 for near 3 years and a month of the Series 9 Pro, I rate the Braun higher. The time of shave is much faster with the braun series 9. The 9 easily handles 3-4 day growth. Try that with the FX 2 and it won't go well. The FX might cut closer, but it will take much longer and you have to cut the hair more often.
@@paulcarlin5181 Oh damn. Late is an understatement lol. All good. Since that post I bought 2 FX 2 Babyliss shavers (silver and black). Love em. They hit well imo. I do thin the hair down with a trimmer before use. I use them more as finishers. Never made them tackle 3-4 hair growth. Balding out is my priority for how I use a shaver and the FX2 does it well for me. Doesn't take long for me though to bald head face and neck. 10-15 mins max if I just go easy. I will say ergonomically the Braun wins. U don't worry about dropping the shaver like you would using the FX2 with its slick body. To each their own though.
I'm looking into getting this for my husband for Christmas. He has a beard and wants an electric razor that can easily just TRIM his beard and not SHAVE it. Being a woman who's not familiar with electric razors...IS THIS A GOOD ELECTRIC RAZOR FOR TRIMMING? Can you set different trim lengths?

Just used the braun 9 today and am very disappointed. Still have low stubble. For $264.99 complete disappointment and now that I have used it there is no way to justify that amount of money for the cost. I could spend $70 on t edgers and get the same results.

I've been using the andis foil, and the first time I used it, it gave me serious razor burn (but it was my first time ever shaving my head). Now it takes me forever to shave my head because im too scared to press too hard or go too fast. I was wondering if I'd have a better time with the arc or the braun. I'm telling you, I would of paid 1k to not have to go through what i went through with the razor burn on the $50 andis....... so im no longer desiring to go cheap....I want the best tool for the job.
Appreciate you Nate for the info.
Thanks Nate that is a great review brother!
Thanks 😎
I have always had better luck shaving my face with a Braun dry...just got the series 9, series 7 lasted me shaving my face every two days for about 7 years...
Cool video. Thanks for posting. My girl just got me one. It's badass. Wet water is best. 🙂☮🏍
Nice! Thanks for the love ✊🏽 appreciate the suggestion as well.
Ronald Jenkins you using it wet or dry?
Great vid bro. Gotta update on how that worked out after a couple of days.
Thanks. Plan to post an update soon 👌🏽
You should get some pre-shave oil. It cuts down on the skin irritation so that the after shave won’t burn so bad.
Testing a really expensive shaver on a bold head (interesting)
WSP UNIT fully
💀💀💀
I use my andis on my testicals
I was thinking the same ha
That's what this shaver is for, he had stuble growth. It would've took homie a hour if had more hair. This shaver is not worth it. I use babosol electric wet/dry shaver $40 bucks. 10 minutes for face and head.
You can use it wet and dry however for best results electric shavers should be used on dry skin and hair
Thanks for sharing. Been looking into this one. How did you look after a few days, any bumps?
Check the playlist on my channel. I don't remember but all the grooming videos are in order: th-cam.com/play/PLPnwCdeqD1UAgZ-mRb7OHZYB5W2Z3Ypir.html
I have tested panasonic and braun, have both still. But they cut terribly when used with foam even though they say it can do it for me it just does horrible. They cut best on dry skin. I have been using foil shaver for a good 8 years every day and for me dry shaving works the best at least with my skin and with my hair.
This is mainly designed to be used on the face
Any updates? I'm thinking about buying it from someone for 180$ but idk if I should get as of yet
The ones in this review
Try the new Philips S9000 Prestige, it's ideal for heads because of its rotary head.
May have to look into it. I have another rotary shaver already. Never made a video with it though.
Have you tested it on your head already? I'm thinking of buying
works better dry. the soap and water makes longer hairs lay down - not what you need. Braun-9 is the best electric razor ever.
It really should be dry cuz the blades have that micro vibration technology which helps lift the hair.
Greetings bro! How does this compare to a Wahl 5 Star or the Andis Pro Foil? Thanks in advance! By the way, your presentation was awesome!
So does he say it’s worth it?
I got their 7 series and have been using it for a few years now. Not sure if its worth the upgrade yet.
Edit: these do so much better with a dry shave. Yes it's capable of being used for a wet shave, but it's not what it's originally meant for.
you can use it in the shower, the bathtub, or your neighbors swimming pool
Are those expensive kit any better than the Wahl balding 5 stars?
Love the fire burn lol good review
I tried it all and the only thing that gives me little to no ingrown hairs are my T-Outliners. Everything else...I bump up like a mofo. The T-Outliners though...night and day difference. Even says it straight on the box...."best for dry-shaving." I still prep my face for shaving with a warm towel. The T-Outliners does the trick for me. But hey, to each their own. If the Braun works great for you...great. Only thing that works for me is the T-Outliners.
I also get rashes, alot of pimples or zits adter shaving whenever i shave too close to the skin. Im looking for something that would do the job gor a long time
Did you make a update video?
Did you get bumps?
Thank you! Looking to buy one myself. Checking out what my bald headed.... bearded brothers ....have to say👍🏼
Thanks
Hi there. Great review! Im looking at the 9295cc. Is the razor all plastic? What is it made of?
Just order IT I can’t wait to make review for my youtube channel ! I love the shaver the Barber school that trims my beard one of the students use it and he loves it !
Is the chrome real metal or plastic??

U still like the tool??
If I may ask why do you shave your head do you go bold ?
Ever get sick of the beard man? I used to have one like yours it not my first time but I used to keep a bald head too have you ever been bald without the beard..
Do we you moisture your hair ?
Got S9 pro plus kit nz$899 down to nz$629
Rubbish manual for it and the cleaner
You didn’t mention the head could go either ways
TH-cam only just dropped this video
Used the cleaner the first time today
I thought that the motor might burn out, when it didn’t shut off
Braun UK had information missing from the manual
What’s your verdict all these years later
At this time
nz$99 replacement head
Nz$30 2X PACK cleaner fluid
Question anyone
How hard do I press
Your hair is course like mine and I have yet to find a razor that cuts us properly no matter how fancy it looks
Andis pro foil for me works perfect and no bumps!! Aaaaaaannnnnd cheaper....Lol! Great review though 👍🏾
You're recommending folks check this out to shave their head but you've used valuable soap and reshaved your head 4 times. We don't have time for that D:
To each their own though.
i use olive oil to shave with it makes it easier to clean the razor
Hey Nate how's covid going? Any advice for shaving out or in the shower or do the same thing for the face..
I have ingrown hair small dark spots on my scalp from when I shaved with a razor against the grain over a month ago, any tips to get rid of them. Also need recommendation for a good moisturizing scalp moisturizer!!
Manny Sullivan kity kity for irritation. Shea butter for moisture
Tend Skin or Witch Hazel
@King Raheem I've been using Kiti Kiti for years. It works wonders on my scalp and face. Gonna try shea butter now. Thx!!
How long did it take to grow that beard
What was the end results 3 days later and did you breakout?
How was that grow out??
th-cam.com/video/gC_wEcmgEqs/w-d-xo.html
How are these with ingrown hairs? I use Gillette skin guard w shaving oil and still get I grown hairs
Great video
Thanks ✊🏽
Great info cool vid
I'm sold!
Mine didn't come with cleaning charger?
You didn't get the same model number I'm using. Check the description.
@@NateMatthews ahh makes sense. Im still fairly knew to electric shaving. Mine said 93XXcc Type 5793. No idea what the "xx" stands for. 20?
I use series 3...and I hate it...don’t even cut and I’ll bump up too
Beard is looking right bro. Question, how do you print your shirts with the different color letters. Looking for an easier less expensive way to run my t shirt business
Thanks. Sometimes I hand paint them, other times I use vinyl.
i think in my case i will end with a lot of razor bumps cauz it heats ur skulp so it not in my case for sure i am still glade to my straight razor Parker
Good video
Braun series 5 or series 9
I like to think the higher number, the better. I've only tried the 9 though.
Just used the braun 9 today and am very disappointed. Still have low stubble. For $264.99 complete disappointment and now that I have used it there is no way to justify that amount of money for the cost. I could spend $70 on t edgers and get the same results.
I just bought this one for $35 lol... brand new unsealed box.
👌🏼
From where homie ?
Why he look like adrien broner
The shaver looks flashy n pretty but, it sounds like it took mad long to get cleaned up.
