During my vacation in the US, beside the big touristic cities as LA or SFO, I visited Portland. I loved that town - including Oregoen. It was one of my favourite places during my trip through the US. It felt like being in some kind of stephen king novel.
Cool to see an outside perspective. From an inside perspective, a lot of us here just want to maintain an amount of normalcy here, and certainly not make it any weirder than it is.
And by Weird you mean Pretentious. I've lived here for almost 20 years and I like to try to find normal places to eat rather than finding someone's idea of weird that tastes like crap. Portland just copied the slogan from Austin Texas just a few years before I came here.
Thank you so much for visiting! And for exploring some different options. It's always nice to see folks getting the chance to experience and enjoy Portland. Come back soon! 🫶
Great video! I live in Hillsboro, west of Portland. I need to get out more and explore locally. McMenamins has many brew pubs around the area. I always love going to them. You can get a passport that they will stamp at each location.
If you ever get back to Portland, check out the aerial tram, the Portlandia Statue, Vancouver USA's waterfront, and the St John's Bridge, the most beautiful in town. Also, nearby, is Cannon Beach and Timberline Lodge.
I live in Portland and you guys definitely did it right for a day in the city. Obviously there’s so much more to see and so much weird stuff but you definitely hit some of the best places. And I’m so glad you found Blue Star donuts! Truly some of the best donuts I’ve ever had and I do know my donuts! Also you guys are a beautiful and sweet couple! Keep up the proud tripping!
The McMenamin brothers are famous for taking old properties and restoring them into resorts. They also have a passport they sell to encourage people to visit all of their locations. I know Kennedy School well since I got married there.
Portland used to be a small industrial blue collar town! When California migration started, these people brought there politics with them in the early 80’s. Thats when Portland started to become weird. lol!
Visiting from Australia. Was quite disappointed to be honest.. Oregon is a beautiful state and we loved the coast and Hood River but Portland city was not the best, quite bland and dirty to be honest. I would come back to Oregon but I'd stay outside Portland.

I agree 100% ❤️

We always wondered what it must be like to live here! That's interesting to know!

Thanks for watching!
Good job. You went to all my favorite places.
I'm from Portland so to me it's the most normal place in the world.

Yay! So glad it's useful to you!

Thank you so much for the recommendations!
next time try Pip's for crisp tiny donuts and a flight of house blended chai teas ;-)
Sticky Hands is one of the best IPA that exists - any way you can get hops into a beer, they did it. So good.
McMenamin's Edgefield used to be a poor farm; there are a few around town that are now establishments.
Thanks so much for all these tips! Super appreciated!
My hometown! Looks like you had a lot of fun! Indeed, this area is amazing! Thanks for the awesome video!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching!

Cool video! Nice to see different places
Glad you enjoyed!
Nice to know you guys enjoyed our neck of the woods - we're located in Vancouver, WA. If you ever head back to Portland, check out Pips Doughnuts! :)
Thanks so much! A few people have mentioned these donuts, and now we really need to try them!!

Did you find it safe to walk around downtown? We were there last year and the area around Powells was a bit like Zombie Apocalypse video game.
It was a little sketchy when we went to the keep Portland weird wall, but everywhere else was fine!
I'm a Portlander and downtown is not safe. I hate to say it but it's true.
blue cheese ice cream?? That sounds gross! LOL. Kevin would probably love it though. He loves bleu cheese.
So random right!? Can't believe it's a real flavor!
Hi you should go to lencois maranhenses brazil it's a place with many dunes and there is water in the dunes
That sounds so cool!! We'll look into it!
Awes😊me!
Thank you!!
Don't move here, just come back!
While in your tour how was the safety walking Portland streets ? I heard that homeless keep asking for money !!?
By Voodoo Donuts it was pretty rough, but besides that we had a great experience!
Is it really dangerous? I’m worried now
We were just fine! Just maybe avoid some areas of downtown.
What is the absolute best month to visit?
Great question! Summer is pretty nice to enjoy the sunshine, and we enjoyed visiting in July!

Portland definitely is hit or miss!!
