Wonderful episode, Michael. Gotta tell you, your spinning is so beautiful. I totally get seeing the difference in handspun after a couple of years of spinning. The combo spin you are planning will be awesome. It sounds like your knitter’s elbow is getting better - yay! Michael, I’m glad you’re slowly getting back into the knitting. Over using our muscles etc can be so disheartening. Your hand spun yarns are amazing! I hope you find the perfect patterns for them. As for the yarns from Rich Mountain Fiber Co., can I just say wow! The green is my favorite but those oranges are 🔥🔥🔥. Fingering or dk, doesn’t matter. Whatever is made from them will be amazing. Wow, my heart needed this episode. Your vibe was both calming and the sprinkles of movie references made me smile. Our sweet girl went over the rainbow bridge yesterday, and I have not been able to have a much needed moment of peace and distraction until now. The orange dk yarn is stunning. Your spinning is so beautiful! And will make an amazing Travelers shawl. I cannot wait to see your progress in that. I hope your elbow feels better. I’m dealing with the same thing. My chiropractor said to google “how to floss a cervical nerve root” and “stretch TOS”. Do this a few times a day and you should start to feel better. Hope this helps. Your spinning is gorgeous! I also recently switched to Italian sewn bind-off for my socks (also TAAT toe-up) after working it on a vest. That orange fingering weight yarn would make a beautiful pair of socks. Thank you for another great video. Be well.

I'm not a knitter, I'm a crocheter. I love watching your channel to see what you're doing. I also have tennis elbow but not from crocheting, it came from a 20 year job as a hairdresser. The crocheting makes my thumbs sore but I have arthritis in my thumbs so there I am

Michael, the been spinning quite a bit too. Some orange fingering could first it into my yarn collection quite nicely. Such beautiful yarn. I love the braids you chose for the Travelers Shawl. I am thinking of doing it as well. Have to go through my collection to see if I have enough braids for it. Lovely spending my Sunday afternoon with you.

So happy you are able to spin while you heal. Just got 2 braids in the mail and itching to break out my e-wheel. I could do the Forest Gump thing here…orange whip, orange sherbet, orange juice, orange starburst, orange you glad I didn’t say banana, etc. Love both DK and fingering.

OMG Michael, I had a LOL belly laugh when you said “buy all the toilet paper, eggs, milk…for the French toast party….” I have a Lendrum as well and was sad to hear that they were no longer in production. I have a Woolee Winder for my Lendrum and it has really helped with consistency--worth every penny, but they are pricey. When I bought my first WW for my Louet wheel and used it there was no going back….there is no end to the fiber toys that we can acquire. Thanks for your wonderful podcast! Hi Michael! I was so excited to see you talk about Newfoundland! We have such a strong knitting tradition here and these books are definitely showcasing our traditional patterns around the world. So cool! Anyway, the hunting mittens (commonly called Trigger Mitts here) are great for everything-not just hunting/fishing! They are so warm and you still have some dexterity with that separate finger. :)
Did you know you said “Saltwater Mittney” book? I went searching for it on Amazon bc…well, I had to have it. You know how it is. Couldn’t find it. Went back to that part of the video to rewatch and catch the name again. 😂😂😂 it’s Saltwater Mittens 😂😂😂. That “s” does look like a “y” though, so I can’t blame you. Anyhoo…thought you might get a good laugh from it. I ordered the book. Can’t wait to knit my first pair of mittens.
I loved those beautiful skeins of yarn. Orange 🍊 and green💚 are two of my favorite colors. Yellow💛 is my other favorite color. fingering or DK weight would be great for a fisherman’s beanie. Fingers crossed 🤞🏾. lol

Traveler shawl looks highly adaptable, so you can make it with that beautiful turquoise and pink and just knit until you run out of yarn. Good luck with the elbow. Carson Demers' book may have some ideas and exercises which will help forestall the problem in the future.
