I can't agree with you strongly enough about the Ardnamurchan Paul Launois, I was blown away the first time I opened my bottle of it. A close second for me is their AD/08:18 Cask 1182 peated Madeira that I picked up at the distillery while on vacation this summer.
Of the top 3 AD bottle I’d say the order for me is Paul Lanois > Sherry Cask > Madeira cask. I like the rest too, the only thing ive yet to grown to like is the Rum Cask. Just doesnt sit well with me. Definitely do a review of the Madeira Cask!
I like these series, it's nice to see and compare what and where your open bottles are. I would love to try the Oban 18 but I have never ever seen it before. Cheers dude!
I'm sure you've already heard this, but after watching these videos of what you have at your residence...eventually you may need to do a video on your entire collection (even the stuff at your friend's place)! The fans want to see the Gwhisky collection unabridged - the director's cut!
I can’t speak for the pre-2023 bottlings of Glendronach 18, but for what’s in the shelf today you should save a lot of money and go with Glendronach 15 (much better than the 18 in my opinion).
The Glenmorangie 12 is available at my local store now. Very good, no surprises. I recently got the 18 year old and have had it a few times, but I haven't made up my mind yet.
Great line up my friend! You gotta do at some point a blind tasting and ranking of all the Ardnamurchans you have at hand hehe Could be definitely fun to see 😉 Nothing like watching these vids with a dram in hand 😎🎩Cheers Buddy 🥃🥃
Yep glendronach 18 is like 23 0r 24 years old fantastic taste and the 21 is great too!!!! I liked the deanston 12 😮 And from where you are the kavalan triple cherry BOMB dam that’s good drop!!! Is it much cheaper there!!!
@@SoWeird4Ualmost said it then checked existing comments. Tried Arran 10 v Deanston 18 last night. Arran was easy winner (ignoring cost). And Arran is lower cost!
I'm curious, how do you split bottles with friends? Do you only drink that whisky when you're together? Or just trade the bottles back and forth every so often? How granular do you get (if at all) about who gets how much of it? Enquiring minds want to know! Okay, one enquiring mind, but a really curious one.
We split them and they stay at my friend's place where we gather once weekly. We only drink them together but we have very regular meetups, so the bottles are never ignored for too long. 🥃
Thanks for sharing Geoff. Always kinda confused when you classify a whisky as solid... I always thought it were liquids... unless of course there has been no chill filtration involved and you're in a terrifying cold place. Other than that, not much of your list to be found on my shelf, but that's no surprise methinks. Slàinte mhath
+1 for the Madeira Review. I have one still sealed and I want to know if I should open it or put it on auction 😜 jk. I enjoy these videos a lot, thanks for the low effort🤩🥃
When Geoff does an open bottle series just so he can follow it up with a closed bottle series 👀
I really like the glimpse of your Springbank, Kilkerran, Hazelburn shelf.

Where are Glencadams 😢 nice bottles though. Hope you will settle in soon. I am missing your reviews 😊
Have to agree, that Ardnamurchan Paul Launois is excellent. Also, really like the Sherry one. Cheers!

Haha since your commenting on Ardnamurchan, have you got the Sauternes on your glass? 😉
@@Gwhisky Dude you know me too well. Of course I did. Literally as I was typing that comment 😂😂🥃🥃

Just finished my Glencadam 10 yesterday. Nearly done with Deanston 10. Both really nice. I'm looking for another 10 to try any ideas?
Arran 10 a must
If you can stretch the age a little (but not the price!) Craigellachie 13 or Loch Lomond 12.

Nice collection. Indie Ardmore missing?
Yes it is! 😬

@@whiskyflu No I'm a huge fan. You're right... it's missing and I should have some! 😉

You know what? I don’t mind this set. It’s simple, rustic not pretentious. Paint the wall a warm color and call it Gwhisky’s “bothy”

Dronach 18 by the Master himself should be fabulous 🤓
It's excellent. 🥃
Hi Geoff,
really nice list again...
But please stop showing of your Oban 18, still not able to get my hands on it. 😁😁👀👀
😂😂😂
Do You leave independent bottlers for separate episode, or You do not buy them and focus in OB?
I mostly focus on OBs, but I split some IBs with friends. Those bottles aren't here, unfortunately. 🥃
I guess you miss Glendronach 15
This looks fine as is as a set :) Is Huddart better than or as good as the 12 year old? Holy crap - who adds caramel to an 18 YO whisky? SMH
I prefer it to the regular 12, although it would be a tough call if the 12 had better specs. 🥃
You were lazy before you moved 😂😂
Just to help out the channel……..No Glenturret?!?!!
Unfortunately the new Glenturret line (new in 2020) isn't sold here. 🥲
You recently moved, hopefully it’s off the island nation for a while. 😔
Live long and prosper.
Actually it was just down the road. Hope no emergency moves are required down the line though. Cheers to living free. 🥃
Seventh comment: best comment!
.
no proper set, actually looks cozy.
Good choice .....
Thanks buddy! 🥃🥃🥃
