    Maybe a heating issue, and or a key fob battery going down. I replaced my battery every year alone with my watches in April.

    Let’s hope you have more luck with the pikes peak !

    To open the key, one of the plastic sides just slides off. So you could try changing the battery. Something I noticed is that you have a rotary ignition switch. In UK we just have a rubber push button ?

      Wish we had your push button. Our switch is hard to turn particularly with heavy gloves on.

    Could be voltage drop in the smart key. You should be able to replace the battery yourself. I did that from time to time on the smart key for my MTS 1200S Touring. But even more likely is radio interference at the location you had trouble. Happened consistently with me on my MTS 1200 in a few locations. I think it might be interference from systems like building alarms. Whenever I would stop to meet a friend at a Bob Evans restaurant in Avon, IN, it would happen every time. Since your smart key is working now that you are in a different location, I suspect there was some radio interference at the location where you had trouble.

    Haven’t had it happen to me, but good excuse to make sure you set your PIN code when you buy. I used to use my PIN to ride my Harleys sometimes, I’ve never actually tried to ride the MS w/o a key yet, I need to try to make sure it doesn’t shut down

    yes it happened to me before, it was the fob battery dead, just slice the cover down and you'll see the battery, I know the sun today was brutal I had mine inside the phone compartment and when I grabbed the fob was burning hot but no issue, 99% sure it's the fob battery

    No key issues here sill having stalling issues, was at the dealership 2 weeks said it was a software problem well bike was delivered 1st ride unfortunately it’s still stalling with idle problems and there’s no codes coming up why this is happening

    Ni heat issue only the Bluetooth within the key constantly searching for key drains the battery in the key fob. Sometimes key won't work in front of gas stations near automatic doors close to pump. Dealer told me about that one. Never leave my key close while not riding.

    Same happened to mine and definitely not heat related. New battery and still does it now and then. Must be an issue on the Ducati V4, pretty annoying given the price of these bikes

    Right now, I am living this problem.
    To day in the morning it didnt work.
    After some trials for 20 minutes, problem solved without doing any thing. Now its not working at all.
    On monday I will start it by pin code and go to the service. Its not a battery issue, not related with signal crowd and high ambient temperature. There are no any other signal source, 13 celcius ambient temperature and 2 months old battery. Service suspection is about the antenna on our phone conversation. But I will want them to check the battery first for sure.

    That happened to me because there are frequency inhibitors from the police or some official building th a t disturbs the frecuency of the key.

    Instructions to change the battery are in your manual. Basically you slide the side panel forward to remove it. This exposes the battery which is a standard 2032 button type.
    May be worth changing. My previous bike ( a Rocket 3GT) had a button to turn the key on or off. The Ducati key does not have this function so it may use up the battery more quickly.
    On a different note, I was surprised at your decision to change to a Pike Peak model.
    Have you ridden one yet? It would appear to have only marginal advantages over the standard model (mainly quicker steering) while also having some compromises wrt riding comfort and value for money.
    I know these things are subjective, but I recommend to try before you buy.

    Immobilizer antenna possibly.
    Could be a dash issue.
    If dash is made by DigiTek, they are junk. Sure they look & operate but when they go bad they get very expensive for something that cost them $15.00-$30.00 to make.
    Sun shouldn’t have much of an issue moisture on the other hand, is a problem.

      It was humid

      @@RemboUSMC if you notice this happening again, your system should have a self diagnostic software. If so, run it see what it comes up with.
      Dash a possibility. If it is a DigiTek unit the didn’t seal all the goodies after building. On the older stuff not too sure about the new but knowing them they didn’t seal the motherboard. The key fob could be the same. Moisture inside it causing it not to be recognized.
      I hope it is nothing at all & that you have a long love life with the MS.

    sometime if you leave it near the bike all the time it kills the fob battery quickly like battery or two a year

    Interested to see that your main ignition switch is a turn switch , well that is what it looks like from 20,000km away .
    Mine is a push button switch .

    • @RemboUSMC
      @RemboUSMC  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, Europe and the rest of the world is a push button but the US is a turn switch. Not sure why.

  • @yansue819

    No it’s not the battery. Mine had a battery low sign.

    I had my Iphone quit working when I left it in the tank bag of my 2014 in the sun. Heat does bad things to electronics. Are you still using your Iphone RAM bracket? I'm a bit gun shy about using mine and messing up the camera.

    • @RemboUSMC
      @RemboUSMC  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Still using RAM mount

    Exact thing happened to me all the time on my XDiavel. Has happened to me with MTS a few times. Almost always at a gas station.
    I think the wireless signals from the pumps interferes with the fob.
    99% of the time it’s happened to me was at a gas station. Not heat related.
    Fob is the same as any VW/Audi/Lambo fob. Slide top piece over and should be a 2032 battery. Replace it every year or two.

    • @cpwills
      @cpwills 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      same on my XDiavel though more random. Changing the battery has not improved the situation. I too have theorized heat. On my bike the antenna is around the fuel filler cap.
