My absolute favorite Low song. I know most people cite Lullaby as their favorite. I'm not sure why this is the one that speaks to me but it just slices right through me. RIP Mimi you will be missed by more than you could ever know.
This has been a favorite of mine for over a decade. I feel privileged to have seen a live performance… Ah, Mimi, RIP knowing that you are SO very loved…😢
Saw them back in April in Manchester and can honestly say that as cliché as it sounds that gig changed my life, my perspective and outlook on everything. It has stuck with me and won’t let go, like a comfort that tells me everything will be okay. I’ve been to so many concerts in my life time (more than I ever dare to count), but not a single one has even came remotely close to theirs, and I don’t think any ever will. I was due to see them again later this month but alas, Mimi sadly lost her nearly 2 year long battle that she fought valiantly through til the very end. Truly gifted artists and musicians, we were blessed to have witnessed Mimi and Alan in our lifetime and she will be sorely missed. R.I.P Mimi Parker
Still one of my top 5 bands of all time. Listen from the beginning of their career to this and you will see that they have grown in so many ways. Yo La Tengo is another fave of mine for the same reason. Mimi Parker's voice is incredible.
I've just heard the news about Mimi .. I am so very sorry for her loss, to you, her friends and band members, and for the loss of Mimi to the world. This is my favourite song that Mimi sings .. and it will remain so, with me, forever.
Cry me a river So I can float over to you The bearer to deliver the news I'm over the moon And underfoot All these elixirs would be moot Cause if we knew where we belong There'd be no doubt where we're from But as it stands, we don't have a clue Especially me and probably you You've fallen in a slumber Just wake one more time To miss or put asunder Would be a crime Some songs feel like butter Some songs sound like cake This little number is for your sake Cause if we knew where we belong There'd be no doubt where we're from But as it stands, we all need the truth Especially me and probably you Probably you, probably you Definitely you
It was like that song spoke to my heart. I'm glad I'm not the only one who cried when I heard it toward the end of the episode of Orange is the New Black.
The singer has a cool vibe about her. I imagine her as some kind of druid witch that should be in the forest or something, Stevie Nicks style lol. So to have her in the subway was brilliant. She looked lost, out of place, but also on a mission. The band scene even looked like some kind of seance. And the lyrics work: "All these elixirs," "You've fallen into slumber," "some songs feel like butter, some songs sound like cake, this little number is for your sake."
This song touched me and made me think of three of my best friends I lost recently . RIP BILLY SABZ , RIP ANTHONY FTEE AND RIP RORY RORDOGZ. LOVE YALL . 💔
what I love about Low is the number of details they put in their music, maybe in a guitar riff, or in their lyrics, that make their songs special. Here, the line: "... especially me, and probably you" is, to me, pure genius. RiP Mimi, gone too soon.
It was quite great to have the public acclaim after playing this one on paris concert this week. C'mon is such a great album. I really enjoy Nels Cline work on this album (nothing but heart will stay my favourite song), and tweedy on the next one.
Mimi Parker of Low has died, according to social media updates by the band. Parker, who cofounded the Duluth-based rock group with husband Alan Sparhawk, was diagnosed with ovarian cancer two years ago. Since then, Low had cut back on live performances and Parker received treatment. An update posted Sunday morning reads: “Friends, it’s hard to put the universe into language and into a short message, but She passed away last night, surrounded by family and love, including yours. Keep her name close and sacred. Share this moment with someone who needs you. Love is indeed the most important thing.” From Minnesota Public Radio.
cool video with a happy end: singer crosses the whole city to finally find back to her band & well deserved stage 8-) best wishes from Switzerland, T Magnetfisch
Putting this on repeat. RIP Mimi.😭😭😭

their songs are so deceptively simple, but contain so much feeling, depth, and soul. Mimi forever.
My absolute favorite Low song. I know most people cite Lullaby as their favorite. I'm not sure why this is the one that speaks to me but it just slices right through me. RIP Mimi you will be missed by more than you could ever know.
my favorite is the demo for lullaby
💔 “Cry me a river, so I can float over to you” - RIP Mimi - forever loved!
RIP Mimi... This song got me hooked, and I have never looked back.
This has been a favorite of mine for over a decade. I feel privileged to have seen a live performance… Ah, Mimi, RIP knowing that you are SO very loved…😢
RIP voice of an angel. 😢

I just got the massive chills when I heard this song for the first time in like 5 years on OITNB
this song is special. so beautifully touching. it makes me feel something that’s very hard to describe, the melody shows the beauty in pain.
Cry me a river
So I can float over to you
The bearer to deliver the news
I'm over the moon
And underfoot
All these elixirs would be moot
Cause if we knew where we belong
There'd be no doubt where we're from
But as it stands, we don't have a clue
Especially me and probably you
You've fallen in a slumber
Just wake one more time
To miss or put asunder
Would be a crime
Some songs feel like butter
Some songs sound like cake
This little number is for your sake
Cause if we knew where we belong
There'd be no doubt where we're from
But as it stands, we all need the truth
Especially me and probably you
Probably you, probably you
Definitely you
