"Mimi Parker of Low has died, according to social media updates by the band. Parker, who cofounded the Duluth-based rock group with husband Alan Sparhawk, was diagnosed with ovarian cancer two years ago. Since then, Low had cut back on live performances and Parker received treatment.
An update posted Sunday morning reads: “Friends, it’s hard to put the universe into language and into a short message, but She passed away last night, surrounded by family and love, including yours. Keep her name close and sacred. Share this moment with someone who needs you. Love is indeed the most important thing.”

I just now came across this band today for the first time. I lost my mom to ovarian cancer in 2008....and while I think about her every day, lately it's been more than usual. and seeing this amazing singer lost her battle to the same disease....I must have been meant to hear this.

I read that she just died from ovarian cancer. I remember hearing them down at the pavilion at Lake Harriet, Mpls. She had such a haunting voice.

Superb vocals , excellent song , cuts deep , the vocal is pure like joan baez or mama cass , what i love about Low is their non compromise , this is what we do! Carry on doing Low because it lifts me up high! Peace
