After watching your video, I went out and bought one of the IR loaders from TC electronics. This wee box is magic - I can't believe the difference it makes to the sound of my (relatively cheap) electric violin!! Thank you for sharing!
Have you managed to make any of your own impulses yet? it's very easy to do, in fact I made a video explaining how to do it. It's in my electric violin playlist
Thank you for a great introduction to IR Loaders. I just got an electric fiddle and have gone down the rabbit hole of IR loaders and effects. There are IR files available that capture the IRs of Strads and Grauneri violins!
I have a really nice electric violin, I haven't played it, in 7 or 8 years tho. When I last played it, it was exclusively, for 4 years. I became so accustomed to the sound, that when I went back to playing an acoustic violin, it didn't sound good. So I think it this device, will help to make the two types closer, and easier for me to go back and forth playing them. I'll have to watch your other videos. And you also mentioned before, on another , that you could put two bridges together, for a better sound. At least, I think you said that. I believe you also said, there was another video, explaining that, which I haven't seen yet tho. So that would also be an interesting thing to try.
Hi Arthur, yes i filmed the two bridge video but never got round to editing and turnng it into a TH-cam video. I'll try to dig out the raw footage and see what I can do with it. Regarding making an Electric violin sound better, before you splash out, download a free Convolution IR processor heres a Link: bedroomproducersblog.com/2019/03/18/free-convolution-reverb-vst/ Use my video here to make a few of your own impulses and see what you think. Zero cost and you can experiment. Link:th-cam.com/video/DAX0bvCdvWg/w-d-xo.html If you then want to put those impulses into a pedal the TC one does the job really well.
Yes this passive one certainly can, but the raw sound may not be to everyones taste, which I demonstrated in the first clip. You may be interested in checking my electric violin playlist - th-cam.com/play/PLOqlrci5S1cP3w7foyL_6JU7fhKkpc9EF.html
Hello, thank you very much for the video. it helped so much to improve the sound of my e violin. But I love the sound of your violin! Can you please send me your IR file?
Wow! You can really tell the difference with the effects pedal! One question: is that violin harder to hold compared to an acoustic one? I use a shoulder rest and also put a Strad Pad on the violin I play the most (I only have two instruments, actually). thanks!
Funnily enough Marcia, I actually find this electric violin about the same as an acoustic violin. It's light and comfortable to play. An eBay bargain from the guy who made it.

amazing channel friend X
Many thanks Courtney
Can the electric violin be used where only the player can hear it with earphones or ear buds so not to bother neighbors.

Okay, that's awesome! thank you and have a great day :)
wow!!! thanks!!! your IRs loaded to the pedal are the same (or same made) that you made in the other video that you use it with the plugin in Reaper?
Yes, I only use my own IR's that I have made from different acoustic violins I own. Gives me a degree of choice.
same procedure to make it? hitting the body and bridge? really grateful for your information!@@peakfiddler
🥰
The volume is too low :(
I'll stick with a regular acoustic. I don't want to spoil myself
Have fun playing, Wendy! :)
Or maybe you could get this Pedal (basically a Violin version of a Boss Acoustic Simulator) cause then you can record more easily w/o a mic.
