Just got an Axe Fm9 and this was the best guide for me to get a good starting sound! I used this video before when I was on my pod go, but I was able to find similar pedals and things on the fm9 and the IR you recommended was a game changer!

Thank you for this lucid, detailed and helpful video. I've watched many of your videos. They are all wonderful As a beginner, they can be over my head. But I learn something every time. Can you help me please? I'm looking for a small IR petal for electric cello that allows me to mix the raw and IR, some EQ and reverb. Basically, just trying to get a decent acoustic sound playing into my headphones. No amping. I learned from another video that not all IR's process the lower tones of the cello well. So I'm a bit worried about that. Thank you again. And keep those fantastic videos coming!

Thank you! I’d love to hear how it goes for you. You can try some of the electric guitar presets - just create a dry through path like I do in this video. That’ll help preserve the tone of your cello.
Alex, I have an acoustic violin with an LR Bagss bridge. I am using some of those same IRs (from an Italian professor), like Calcini, Klotz? ==> anyway I find that in the Helix the GREATLY lower the output. They do sweeten the tone from the piezo pickup..... but they greatly lower the signal level. Have you experienced this? Maybe the NS has active pickups?
My NS violin is passive. I think what you’re probably experiencing is just caused by the default volume parameter in the IR block to be set at -18db. I usually put it at -6db and go from there, trying to match the volume of my violin before it hits the IR block.
Hi Felipe - 15 of those presets are for violin. I'm planning on splitting them off from that package though and creating a bundle that is somewhere between 20-30 presets just for violin. When that's done, I'll email it to everyone that has purchased the Complete Preset Library and will offer it to them for free.

Sorry for taking advantage of asking a related question, I used to play classic violin and I now playing in a indie band with my classic violin but amplified and with the Helix for effects. I want to get the yamaha YEV with 5 strings but I have never try a 5 string violin, is difficult to get used to play them? I cannot try them here in Chile, as they do not have the instrument in the store. Thanks a lot again!
@@felipecourt960 No worries! For me, it was easy to get used to a 5 string. When I bought the NS violin, I had tried a couple other violins and I found that the string spacing was the biggest thing to think about. The Bridge Lyra 5 string I tried had 5 strings in the space of what 4 would normally fit in. So, the same sized neck, but the strings are cramped. Not great for double stops, especially since I have viola hands haha. The NS Design string spacing was measured as a 4-string would be from string to string, but the neck was wider to accommodate for the 5th string. I found that to feel better to me. hello!! I have been searching something like this for more than a year. I have focusrite scarlett instead of helix, and I plug it into fl studio to provide me effects from there, can you help me identify the all the plugins you have used so i can make similar settings in my fl studio?? any help regarding this will highly be appreciated, I also wanted to know about the master volume the instrument should be set to, I have heard it should be somewhere between -3 to -6 db love from India
Hi! Sorry I had missed your comment previously. What you should look for is an impulse response loading plugin for fl studio. It might be built in already, I'm not familiar with that program. You can use a built in compressor and EQ to help emulate this tone that I've accomplished. I would set the volume on the instrument to maximum so you're not getting any tone loss.
The Pod Go has limitations in that you cannot create parallel signal chains or re-order effects. It does however have the ability to load impulse responses, which is probably the most important part of replicating an acoustic violin. It won't be as capable as the HX Stomp, but it will certainly do a good job.

Hi Kane - not likely. If you really want to transform your guitar into some other instrument, you'd need to explore MIDI

It won't be as capable as the HX Stomp, but it will certainly do a good job.
