I wish more people did what you do. Usually tutorials like these just give us the steps, but you're actually teaching us how to think about the subjects, what to look for, and otherwise which steps are just a matter of grinding and how to do it efficiently.
This is probably the most helpful art video I've seen on youtube so far. I'm not exactly a beginner in art, but I haven't drawn any anime/manga yet. No one has teached me this before too. This was very helpful! Thank you! 🤗

Arigato senpai!🥺

Thank you so much Shidzilla. When I used to search for 'how to draw anime', I always used to just get those speedart-type videos where they draw from beginning to end and I didn't understand how to copy or what they did but you helped me with it. Now, I know why my side and semi-side faces looked totally different from those guys. Thank you again and I'll definitely make sure to practice those difficult faces on all my friends' shirts XD
I will agree that when i started drawing anime, this was the first video i watched and it did help me, however, it is not a bad habit to draw circles with multiple lines, that actually helps me, and it is a matter of preference, but thank you for this wonderful video!
I would like to express my gratitude. Ever since i started following your tutorials, my drawing skills have tremendously improved and my dream of one day my own comic and animated series no longer seems so distant. I cannot thank you enough.
much love to you Shidzilla. Thank you for this. I didn't even realize it was 27mins till someone mentioned. followed through daily like my mantra for the past 3 days and now my hands feel way free unlike how stiff they were when I started. Again, thank you so much
Hello, Ive just realized I've been doing the very basics wrong for my entire life. I've asked around, apparently you're supposed to use your wrist and sometimes even your entire arm while drawing. I've just been using 2 fingers for my entire life, only moving my wrist when where I want to write/draw is out of range. it explains not only why my handwriting sucks and why I suck at drawing, but also why I dislike writing so much. this video somehow just made me realise what's been holding me back. thank you for moving your hand when you draw... I will return to this video after I relearn these absolute basics.
I can't believe I found a tutorial channel and also my own arstyle. This is where my journey as an artist starts. And I can't thank you enough for making these tutorial vids.
18:35 ok so this part helped me a LOT and imporve in drawing the face and understanding and observing the lines, So in short i'm just saying that your video is really great and easy to understand😊
Thank you so much! Finally a truly beginner drawing guide! Kinda nice to see even seasoned artists can't draw perfect circles or straight lines. I shouldn't be so hard on myself and just focus on the learning process you are showing here. And that slow sketching of a circle being a bad habit was nice to point out. I must remind myself to do it in one stroke. Thank you again.
I have been trying to get the basics down for faces for over a year now through books and online tutorials bit this one really breaks it down to basic level. I really think these tips will help me improve, thank you for sharing your talent and knowledge 😊!
Dude! , that's the best tutorial i have found not only about art, but the whole organization and dedication in it Unlike others who say watch my speeded time-lapse, you did it step by step and repeated it, that's so amazing 👏 You earned a sub , keep up the amazing work :D
Can you do a whole video just for eyes...or better yet hands? Hands are honestly an "artist"'s worst enemy. I said "artists" as in anybody who draws. .... cuz just because they draw doesn't mean they are artists.
For anyone having trouble, just remember, take it 1 step at a time till you perfect that and move on. Also do it slowly don't rush the circles and lines having patience is key.
I love arts and manga but I can't draw. So, I thought it's not late to learn how to draw. But some other tutorials were like from beginner in lesson 1 to artist in lesson 2. But this tutorials seem helpful. Thank you so much.
Great video, this is the best tutorial ever, real basic for people like me who can draw at all. and yet im still struggling as a beginner. i cant tell if im improving or not its only my 2nd day of practice. wonder how long ill need to keep practicing on the head alone before its safe to move on to the eyes and all that lol.
I come here to say your videos/series need more views. I sat and did circles and lines for like an hour or so compared to a channel I watched before spending like 3 hours drawing way to many technical lines- not understanding. This is so easy and simple and it unlocked my brain on perspective of the face. I was so excited I stayed up till 6 am just drawing perspectives. Thank you sooo much. Thank youuuu!
I've been trying to learn how to draw the Mark Crikey way in his book Mastering Manga. I was struggling a bit until I found your video! Your guide lines are so simple and easy to replicate!
This is my first tutorial and i checked out other channel tutorial after watching this ,all of them are just drawing for themself , not actully teaching .Really Underrated channel
I practicing drawing everyday but after I watch this I realize I've been doing it wrong, literally all of it were wrong,so I had to start it all over again.Anyway your tutorial is very very helpful and I would like to thank you for this masterpiece.
What Shidzilla sama forgets to mention (can't blame him. He's a pro, he probably forgot a thing or two about his newbie days) is how extremely slowly you need to start drawing these circles and lines. Once you nail the circle and continue nailing the circle your body goes "I have this hugeass stack of paper for drawing circles. Let's speed things up." and so it does. When I tried drawing on Shidzilla sama's speed first and drew turds. No, seriously, it looks like... I think bunny turds? When I slowed down extremely, I did get that nice circle, at which point my body sped up a little and I started drawing bunny turds again. I sped down just a bit until I got the circle, at which point my body sped up again. Lesson: start ridiculously slow.
Hey, man. I appreciate your work. Thank you for this, this was very informative. For once I wasn’t too overwhelmed when watching a tutorial. Might I ask though, what is the best to start practicing on. The face or human anatomy or does it not matter?
i dont know if which is better but for me i learned face first because i want to draw the anime characters that i like, i only started to learn anatomy when i started to do manga
I'm watching this a year later but I'm just gonna say this anyways - This is the MOST helpful tutorial I have ever seen! I've been drawing anime for 2 years now and I'm still a noob but this helped me so much to understand how to draw the faces side ways! I really think this channel is still very underrated and I hope it gets the fame it deserves. I'm excited to learn more from you ^ω^

@@yurionedge2199 same, just got to keep practicing
I really can’t say how helpful this has been. I thought I would never be able to draw something that seemed remotely good, but now I feel like everything is so much simpler, and even I could master it with some practice. Thank you for making this!
thats so awesome! really makes me happy
Thank you! 🤗
Wow, thank you!
I’ve never drawn before in my whole life, this video is perfect, instantly subscribed
thank you very much and good luck!

Aaaah, I have been searching for your channel all these years, and I finally found someone to teach me the basics of drawing anime for free... With my best wishes, a follower from Iraq
This is the best! I rlly love the series alot! You teach stuff very very clearly! Most of tutorials never tell us to warm up by drawing a certain shape. Your teaching method is so good😭 i have been looking for tuts that teach
Parallel and side views but this is the most understandable vid. The existence of this series is a bless to the universe. Arigato senpai!🥺
thank you very much :)

Hey @Shidzilla214. I am starting to sketch again after almost 12 years and I am learning it starting with your playlist. It is really awesome how your videos are well structured. No other playlist is as good as this one. Keep going buddy, don't stop this work.
I subscribed! This is really what I wanted, the basic of basic! Thank you so much please do some moreeeee. I've been wanting to make manga someday and I love to learn to draw anime from you!
Thanks for subbing! glad this tutorials help you,i will post a new tutorial vid in 2-3 days :)

YOU are the only one who teach to draw anime CLEARLY I wasn't able find anyone but you.THANK YOU SOO MUCH and keep up the good work. You really deserve more views and subscribers 🥺❤️✨
thank you very much! thats so good to hear :)
Thank you again and I'll definitely make sure to practice those difficult faces on all my friends' shirts XD
im happy you learned something new! yes draw on their shirts ahaha!
I'm sharing this video to my friends
I will agree that when i started drawing anime, this was the first video i watched and it did help me, however, it is not a bad habit to draw circles with multiple lines, that actually helps me, and it is a matter of preference, but thank you for this wonderful video!
great practice advice, hate when people say "just draw"
thank you :) i hate that too
I was having difficulty following some, Anime Drawing Books. You made it even more easy

Because of you I can now draw a perfect circle without any instrument
nice im happy for you
much love to you Shidzilla. Thank you for this. I didn't even realize it was 27mins till someone mentioned. followed through daily like my mantra for the past 3 days and now my hands feel way free unlike how stiff they were when I started. Again, thank you so much
You are so welcome! im glad it was helpful :)
I will return to this video after I relearn these absolute basics.
thats great! sometimes this tutorial does things i wasn't expecting, now you can improve your drawings!
I can't believe I found a tutorial channel and also my own arstyle. This is where my journey as an artist starts. And I can't thank you enough for making these tutorial vids.
Personally I'm pretty good at writing stories. The only thing I need now, IS ART SKILLS and then HIYA CHA CHA it begins
good luck to both of you! i will start how to draw manga series soon
18:35 ok so this part helped me a LOT and imporve in drawing the face and understanding and observing the lines, So in short i'm just saying that your video is really great and easy to understand😊
im glad that you learned so much :)
Its good to refreshen your memory every once in awhile on basic things, surely helps prevent artblock.
Thanks so much for this vid. I just started learning how to sketch and draw and this is the most informative video yet. Again, thanks so much!
this was actually very helpful this is the first vid I have ever watched from your channel and it helped me improve alot in the first 11;00 mins
thats amazing, im glad to hear that :D
Thank you so much! Finally a truly beginner drawing guide!
Kinda nice to see even seasoned artists can't draw perfect circles or straight lines. I shouldn't be so hard on myself and just focus on the learning process you are showing here. And that slow sketching of a circle being a bad habit was nice to point out. I must remind myself to do it in one stroke.
Thank you again.
I have been trying to get the basics down for faces for over a year now through books and online tutorials bit this one really breaks it down to basic level. I really think these tips will help me improve, thank you for sharing your talent and knowledge 😊!
thank you, i hope you learn from this too :)
Dude! , that's the best tutorial i have found not only about art, but the whole organization and dedication in it
Unlike others who say watch my speeded time-lapse, you did it step by step and repeated it, that's so amazing 👏

Can you do a whole video just for eyes...or better yet hands? Hands are honestly an "artist"'s worst enemy. I said "artists" as in anybody who draws. .... cuz just because they draw doesn't mean they are artists.
the eyes, thats for sure, that will be on the next video. about the hands, i know what it feels like haha took me a long time to learn it too

Great video, this is the best tutorial ever, real basic for people like me who can draw at all. and yet im still struggling as a beginner. i cant tell if im improving or not its only my 2nd day of practice. wonder how long ill need to keep practicing on the head alone before its safe to move on to the eyes and all that lol.
dont worry about your progress for now its just you 2nd day :)
I already failed at drawing circles in uniform style lol
lol your hand really gonna hurt in first few tried XD

thank you very much! and i admire that you are willing to start over and learn a new way of drawing
This si the most basically step how to draw manga, very nice job Shidzilla :D
Lesson: start ridiculously slow.
thats a good tip :) yeah there are some steps i already forgot because of how long im doing things hahah
Thanks for making this video Shidzilla.
got inspired by inspired by pewds. Ill draw 30 min everyday for 100 days . let see how it goes

I'm excited to learn more from you ^ω^
thank you very much! and this is the reason i still want to upload more tutorials! sorry that im kinda slow XD
