Thank you, I’ve got an idea for a story with a bunch of different unique characters. All I still needed to do was learn how to draw characters. Thanks to this simple video I was able to learn how to draw faces at least in the matter of minutes. Putting me one step closer to my goal of creating a shonen-ish type of story! Thanks a lot.

Funny thing, I had the exact same materials (pencils, erasers) in the exact same order on my sheet of paper when I started my video. And my end result is not perfect, but not too bad. Thank you Marcel. Practice is the key and you help a lot.
Remember this works for DLAS but everyone has different methods and it’s up to you to venture and experiment to see what works for you. My greatest advice when learning heads ( if you are serious) is to learn realism before you stylize. Also learn the 3d contours of the head so you can draw it in all angles with ease. This tutorial is great for a front profile in DLAS’s art style but if you want to really progress, pick apart the video and learn what works for you and evolve you own methods from his. Most artists fail at drawing things that they don’t understand. Work smarter not harder champs.
Well, I am doing the opposite approach. I started with stylized, moved to semi realism and will move to realism in the future. I don't know why but it is easier for me that way.
@@alvenkaiser4549 when you start drawing stylized, you use it as an excuse for your non proportional anatomy or flat characters and it’ll lead you down a rabbit hole of mistakes that will become habits. It’s not smart to learn that way. If you want to see noticeable progress, it’s best to start with realistic simplified forms then move to more detailed forms. Then once you actually understand what you are drawing, you can stylize it. It’s the fastest and most effective method to learn.
Your tutorials are so helpful I've seen them 20-30 times but still somewhat suck at side view especially 😅 I've been drawing them daily but I'd like a more detailed video on different angles
' just for simlicity the face has 3 main proporions :1-top forehead, eyebrows, nose, chin, ear= are all equal sizes. 2-eyes or the middle line is in the middle. 3-nose, mouth, eyes from one to another are the same sizes(with exceptions) Those are the main basic proportions that u should keep to make urr portrets 10x better looking ALso Marcel is an very popular romanian name.

It has helped jolt my motivation back to life again as i have begun practicing based on what i already knew while mixing it with what you have been teaching me. Just wanted to say, thank you for these short yet plentiful tutorials! It has helped me a ton. I'll keep everyone posted on my slow but eventual progress 😅 Journey update: I have become much better! My male anatomy has reached a new peak and now I genuinely don't need help from references, but would still like to use them anyways 🤣 I will continue my journey and update you some more!

I make sure I watch the rest too. I'm learning how to draw again after ten years and it is a struggle, but I'm sure I find tips here where to start learning again.
