I've been in my house for 37 years and recently remodeled with new windows and the difference is amazing. Texas right now is super hot! The power went out this morning and the house stayed comfortable until it came back on. I've redone the dining room, new carpet, new curtains and one the half bath and I love it!
You can get blockout honeycomb blinds behind the shutters for total darkness in the bedrooms because there is still a lot of light leakage with shutters.
The windows are gorgeous! Looks like a great decision that you will enjoy for many years. Thank goodness the roof is done, we are in for quite a bit of rain starting tonight. Your creek bed is going to be full!

I love those shutters, they are beautiful. I used to have mini blinds but they are such a pain to clean I got rid of them. So thoughtful of you to think of Puddys view. When we got new screen doors, I got them with glass all the way up an down, and I put the screen at the bottom for Sunny. I'm praying that you guys and everyone (especially Puddys friends and families) are safe and come through with no damage from the the Hurricane. After all you guys have been through with getting the house back in shape. 😊😊

Seeing yours makes me rethink the whole thing as I current have a makeshift curtain that is functional but ugly! Looks like I know what I’ll be saving up to invest in. Those and new windows! Leaving that bottom area for Puddy to still be able to see out is genius! Now you need to teach her how to open & close them. You know she’ll catch on super quick! SAME! We have been in our house coming up on 10 years and decided it is our forever home! Finally after all our military moves! We are getting plantation shutters now on some of our windows. I like the traditional with the bar in the middle, but now wondering if I should go without do to the cleaning/dusting issue you mentioned.

I am so jealous. I Love your new shutters. I am in the process of moving and I picked the worst time of the year to do it. The heat index is 105 right now and we haven't even reached max temperature for the day yet. Tomorrow it is supposed to be 106 with a heat index of 114. The one good thing about this move is I will now have A/C in the new place whereas I don't have it in my old place. Love you Guys 🥰 Be Happy 😂 Safe and Healthy 💞
You will love them, I waited 6 months for mine as they were coming from China (I stay in Scotland ). When it’s hot keep them closed and it should keep the heat out ❤
