- Hey guys we wanted to make a quicker style video talking about something we thought was interesting. We have a lot more content coming out soon a lot of stuff planned for Halloween. Let us know if you disagree. #pikmin

I’d argue that all adult Bulborb got bigger from Pikmin 3, as you’re no longer able to stun lock them by aiming Pikmin towards their eyestalks.
The emperor in pikmin 1 has been retconned to be a sovereign bulblax, since the sovereign bulblax has the same physical features as the one from 1.
Also the Mammuta was always supposed to have hair, the pikmin 1 guide mentions that they are hairy. And the lesser jelly float can’t kill while the big one can kill.
Wollywogs got nerfed so bad they don’t even share the same name as the old ones
Wog is a slur in some countries
5:36 In pikmin 2, I think they still can be extinguished with water, since in the Submerged Castle that was your only way of dealing with them before getting Bulbmin - although they were still nerfed afaik, because I remember them re-igniting the very second they left the water, whereas now they spend some time before doing so.
(Also they were not present in Pikmin 3!!)
Yes thank you for fact checking we got some stuff wrong about the fire bulborb but you explained it great and we really couldn’t remember if it was in pikmin 3
One other thing!
In Pikmin 4, you can throw Purple or Rock pikmin at a Fiery Bulblax and it will still deal damage (due to Purples and Rocks unique "damage upon contact" properties).
Now this may sound like a big nerf, but you can actually do the same thing in Pikmin 2! Purple slam the Bulblax and it'll get stunned and take a good chunk of damage!
5:36 they always could be put out by water, difference is that in pikmin 2, once out of water, they instantly reignite, while in 4, it takes a while for it to reignite, more balanced if you ask me
Fiery Bulblax was extinguishable in Pikmin 2
The fiery bulblax can be put out with water in Pikmin 2
actually I remember putting the fiery bulblax out before...I think in pikmin 2 the real issue was they were rarely around water
You can put out the firey bulblax in pikmin 2, I’ve done it multiple times.
They appear near water 2 times, once in the distant tundra and the other in the submerged castle.
In both instances, you have to use Blue Pikmin to lure them into the water and extinguish its flames to kill them and retrieve the treasure.
Emperors in 2 could scream as well but they usually die before they get a chance to do it lmao
5:21 I don’t know why you think the Fiery Bulblaxes couldn’t be put out it Pikmin 2 since that was basically required to beat one in the Submerged Castle, since only Blues can be brought into that one. Outside of just sending a captain to wail on it over and over again (very slow and inefficient, not to mention risky, especially in the Submerged Castle (or Engulfed Castle in 4) thanks to the Waterwraith) or having them eat a bunch of White Pikmin (which you do not have at this time and place and which would be a massive waste of Whites given the limitations on acquiring Whites in general and on getting Pikmin in caves), the only way to beat them in 2 without any Reds or Bulbmin (which you also do not have at this time in this cave) is to have one walk into water so they aren’t on fire, allowing every Pikmin type (especially Blues) to attack the Bulblax. Even petrifying them with Ultra Bitter Sprays didn’t put out the fire; they specifically had to be in water.
What _did_ change between 2 and 4 is how fast they can reignite once out of water (from basically instantaneously in 2 to after a few second in 4) and the addition of ice as something else to put them out (which makes sense as a game mechanic). A nerf, but not a huge one.
6:37 (Spoiler) You fight this one three times in 4, where the room gets smaller each time (I think) with the last one being in a very restricted room, being basically a square that is the same length as the Empress Bulblax itself, and you have to use wind geysers to dodge its attacks. (It also only spawns Grubs the second and third time in 4, doing so only the second of two times in 2.) It is still kinda a nerf (indirectly) for three reasons. First, the addition of Rock Pikmin, which are immune to both the roll itself and boulders falling, means you can fight the Bulblax while only worrying about the Grubs (which it’ll roll over itself anyways). Second is the presence of Oatchi making maneuvering Pikmin safely much easier, so the lack of room is far less of a problem than it used to. The third thing is a quirk of the third fight. Yes, the room it’s in is small, but there also are ledges that you have to descend to reach the thing, meaning you have a vantage point from above where neither the Empress nor her Grubs can reach you. This can be exploited by simply throwing a bunch of Rock Pikmin on her and then waiting. Some of the Rocks may die from the occasional Grub that manages to live long enough, but all your other Pikmin, as well as Oatchi and the player, are completely safe. Alternatively, you could just throw Bomb-Rocks safely from there.
9:54 One change to the Shearwigs is that, in Pikmin 2, they actually regenerated. (Bulbears had the same mechanic along with the exclusive Gatling Groink.) I always found that mechanic annoying, so I’m glad that hasn’t returned. Also, the lack of bridges it can destroy makes all the Sheargrubs less annoying in that regard.
8:48 In 3 and 4, Armored Cannon Beetle Larva’s boulders can have slight homing properties (similar to the Decorated variant in 2), so they don’t always shoot just in straight lines. Also, the Arctic Cannon Beetle Larva return from 3.
10:10 Did you forget the Desiccated variant of this one? Because that was also a returning enemy, and it can kill Pikmin, so I feel like that aspect should have been mentioned.
10:17 In 3 and 4, Swooping Snitchbugs can also grab pilots and throw them at the ground, so that is a buff from 2 but no change from 3.
10:56 I think these guys are less prone to causing Pikmin to fall off them, making them easier to deal with.
Bro did not say that Fiery Bulblax can’t be put out in 2
Lol whoops
Imagine the first level of the submerged castle, you're immediately greeted with a nearly unkillable enemy and given no form of counterplay. Well as much counterplay as you're usually given in 2.
Got this channel recommended today, I always appreciate some good Pikmin content :D
14:37 "the Burrowing Snahr-git" 💀
16:24 no, pikmin 1 and 4, he is peaceful at first sight, however in pikmin 2 the mamutas will ALWAYS be in an aggressive state
In favour of the Burrowing snagret, in pikmin 1 and 2 you could attack its body, it receives less damage than if you attacked its head but still.
Then in Pikmin 3 and 4 it got buffed in the fact that its body is impervious to damage so if you charge at its body your pikmin will deal basically 0 damage and the snagret will eat them all.
So it got balanced.
P.D: You forgot about the Creeping chrysanthemum
P.P.D: The pyroclasmic slooches (the fire slugs) have been buffed a bit, they eat much faster and more constantly; plus they now have a poisonous counterpart
The white bulborb with the long tongue is really easy in 3, if it eats a Pikmin you can just throw another at it and it will almost instantly spit it out.
Armoured cannon Beetle in Pikmin 1 only has about a second window to throw a Pikmin to open the back and any that get crushed are dead, not to mention how Pikmin are very slow without being flowered so they cannot get out the way in time. Armoured cannon beetle in 1 is a lot more difficult compared to 4.
in 3 all bulborbs would be stunned for a while when you throw pikmin at their eyes, it made them all a complete joke. they removed it in 4 so now theyre only mostly a joke
the things about the wollywogs is in the first game they had a glitch that let them kill a disproportionate amount of pikmin. They just fixed the glitch.
Oh, I didn't know that. More people should know that.
7:00 The first two times you fight the Empress yeah it's in a wide open space and it's pretty easy. But that sublevel in Cavern for a King? Tight little room plus grubs plus rocks falling and you gotta use geysers to jump over it. You fuck up and your whole squad is dead. That was fucked up. Contender for the hardest sublevel/boss fight in any Pikmin game.
(Spoilers) empress bulblax does have one cave where it forces you to fight her in a very narrow space.
22:27 their visibilty is worse, that was it i think, MAYBE less hp
Fiery Bulbax could be put out in water in pikmin 2. Only reason I remember was cause there was one in submerged castle and you needed to bait it into water to get the treasure since you could only bring blue pikmins
Yes but the difference is that in pikmin 2 the flames come back immediately once the firey bulbax gets out of the water
so uhm the thing is. fiery bulblax can be put out in pikmin 2 and there are non in pikmin3
the puffstool now makes pikmin to dance because nintendo didn't want to make a puffmin model for every single pikmin type.
I'm pretty sure mamuta would insta attack you instead of sitting there until aggravated but might just be me anyone else because I finished some pikmin 2 cave with some mamutas and chrysanthemums
Dweevils in pikmin 4 attack ALOT faster then in pikmin 2. In pikmin 2 they barely attacked but now they are a threat.
5:40 I'm pretty sure they can
Yeah you can in 2. He was wrong
14:37 bro said snarget not snagret
What?
In french, the little Bulblax are called King Bulblax, and the big ones are called emperer Bulblax
14:20 you don't wanna eat them, they're flavorless as Louie says
They look like the auntie anns pretzel nuggets
@@displayland1988 YOU CAN PUT OUT FIREY BULBLAX IN 2
Pikmin 1 willy hogs had so much visibility I got done making. Bridge to get to snagret hole and one was like Nuh uh jumps on th bridge and crushes 5 pikmin I was like haha CD ant get me I made. Bridge oh S-
Fiery Bulblax can be put out in pikmin 2 but like right as they leave the water they go back on fire (This is not a hate comment)
The pikmin 3 bulborb weaknesses got removed meaning they techniquely got buffed honestly
I love the name wooly wogs, kinda suck they changed there name cause of wog being a slang term. Can't even say it on twitch without getting auto modded
Breadbug actually got HARD nerfed
In reality he has *less* hp than Pikmin 2's, not only requiring less pikmin squashes, but you can also one shot him with the tug-o-war tactic, which in 2 only *almost* killed him.
That and their dens have been replaced, what once was a impenetrable den is now a simple dirt mound Pikmin have to dig up...
Still a major glowup though
Also they could kill pikmin in 2.
You make a fair point I thought the new bread bug dens in pikmin 4 where a lil weak
Because of Oatchi I think every enemy is a lot easier to deal with. You could say they all got nerfed
20:57 that was also in pikmin 2, however by cave randomization, you probably wouldn't have a useful area for the unpassable areas for the waterwraith
also he is so nerfed it's not funny anymore, his ai is worse, speed is worse, and he targets pikmin carrying treasure instead of that AND captains, if pikmin aren't carrying anything then he's basically patrolling which ruins the whole "scary" from him
so what should be a buff is speed and ai again, and make his prioritizing better
Pikmin 4 Red Bulborbs are definitely stronger than in Pikmin 3. You need like 30 pikmin to take out a Pikmin 4 Bulborb consistently whereas in Pikmin 3 you could do it with 20 and in Pikmin 3 Deluxe you can do it with 15.
In 3 you can consistently do it with 1 rock Pikmin
Hit the eyes and you stun lock it... It's so sad
the death frogs deserved it
I feel like pikmin 3 was hardly referred to in this video.
bring back at least half of og wollywog and emperor bulblax. I know technically soverign ver is callback to pikmin1 but he still feels way easy. And smoky prog for real need have large deathly mist and shake off pikmin (health remain the lesser than og is ok for me). Lastly stop nerfing bulbords they suppose to feel threathening , not op but not easy. pikmin got more op stuff like ice and rock, the enemies should not nerf it just feels easy at that point, esp compared to 1 and 2.
Uhhhh buddy you Can put out firey bulblaxes in pikmin 2 with water…
yeah there's two you have to fight with blue pikmin lol
Oh really?
That rocks I didn’t think you could
@@displayland1988 In Pikmin 2 there are 2 Fiery Bulblaxes that obligatorily need to get their fire put out. One in Submerged Castle and the other one in the Valley of Repose, as both of them are surrounded by water so you can only bring Blue Pikmin with you.
joust mite is in pikmin 2 it just got a redesign. Way too easy in pikmin 2 aswell
Yes we forgot to mention it lol totally forgot they where in pikmin 2
Joust mites aren't in Pikmin 2. You're thinking of the Cloaking Burrow-nit which is a different species. Though, it does act similarly to the Joust mite.
Wallywog back then: i shall kill your army and you >:)
Wallywog today: *sniff* *sniff* I’m a loser :(
Hate to be that guy but it's spelt Wollyhop
I don’t agree with this video
Me neither
Why are frosty bulborbs included if they were only in pikmin 4?
I feel like there evolved versions of the fluffy snow bulborbs we got in pikmin 2
@@displayland1988 I get where you're coming from but I highly doubt it since they act nothing alike. I would say that they were inspired at most but other than that they're completely different species.
7:00 you sure?
Oh yeah, *that* cave level...
what's a snargit
do you play pikmin
@@ThatOneSuperCircuitGuyI've played Pikmin and I have no idea what that is
