A favorite among band directors for decades, the 62 model saxophones (and their predecessor, the 61) have redefined the market by offering superior quality and durability at an affordable price.. Introduced in 1979, the YAS-62 and YTS-62 saxophones withstand the tests of time and competition and have been in a continual state of improvement since the launch of the YAS-61 in 1969. The Yamaha YTS-62III perpetuates this tradition of affordable excellence with new features and pricing.
    New features include:
New 62 Style Neck - A slightly narrower bore provides a faster response and greater control. The 62 style neck allows a comfortable flow of air so that every player can attain a solid tonal core.
New Engraving - More elaborate with finer detail, the new design offers delicate beauty.
Improved Low B-C# connection - An improved mechanism from low B to C# ensures a proper seal for these notes which promotes a clear response throughout the low range of the instrument.
Backpack-style Case - Semi-hard case offers a contemporary look and greater ease of transport.
Order today with the no-risk assurance of our Total Satisfaction and Low Price Guarantees!

I actually prefer the 62 to the 82Z. They just allow you to do more in most situations. Why they market these as intermediate horns is just silly. Tom Scott played a 62S on Apple Juice so if it's good enough for him, well....

Tony Aguirre 62 was the Yamaha entry level pro horn to challenge any other in the market. It’s like the most versatile horn on the planet other than the Yanagisawa pro horns.

It is not an intermediate horn it is a pro horn sir.

I hear a disturbing rattling sound when playing the low G or #G and then hitting the octave key. Is that a flaw in the instrument?

Hello Greg Vail, Is that a Brancher Strap? If so could you please tell me if it is a S, L, Or XL. And is it the strip model or the crescent? Thank You, I am a huge fan of your music Greg Vail, You are amazing! You are definitely one of the best living saxophone players! Thank You for Taking your time to read this.

Grant Scott strip large on alto.... Love Brancher straps and always stock up when i see him at NAMM.. never liked the hooks or padded straps that are bouncy.

Not really. Besides, it isn't all about the horn, the horn is just an extension/tool. The real sound comes from the player for the most part.

You are choking it with those student mouthpieces. Get something with at least a 90-100 opening medium chamber. I like the Rico Metalite in either a m7 or m9. Cheap, but they get the job done.
