Nice , like the 62. Just bought the entry level yts 280 and a Conn ladyface, didnt play for 20 years and am going back on track... You think a silver plated 62 would sound a bit different cause of the silver body or os it just the colour? Greetings
It’s hard to say on the playing or lacquer. Some say plated horns sound brighter! Silver can be a hassle to keep polished unless you like the tarnished patina look.
Free blowing isn’t everything. If you want free blowing, change the mouthpiece, reed or neck. In terms of sound, the Yanagisawa has load of character. The Yamaha sounds sterile in comparison. Personal opinion of course… I don’t think Coltrane would opt for Yamaha - a company which also makes sporting goods.
I love 62 sound!
Me too! More spread and fat.
Yepp, love that 62 Sound and wonderful Impro of the Work Song. 😊
@@Christoph_W Thank you Christoph!
The 62 sounds as if you had changed mouthpiece , dramatic difference , Yani was subdued in comparison .
@@geraldc.7859 same mouthpiece!
The 62 winds this battle hands down.
I wanted to like the Yani better, but the Yamaha sounds the best.....

62 for sure.
Man, that TW010 is so resistant, it barely wants to produce any sound. Must push it like an old car. Something in that’s setup must be changed.
Yamaha' s more focused. But the Yani's, althoughts a little bit too bright, has got something that reminds me honey...
Thanks for the comparison
Mght want to pronounce Yani properly- hard ‘G.’
Got it Yana G. Sawa saxophones
@@MikeBlock thanks! Geh, hard, rather than jeh soft.
