So far it’s been announced for ultra luxury cars such as new Porsche taycan and Aston Martin. I don’t know if it’s the car companies being obtuse (in the case of GM) or spiteful for the loss of control and providing “unique experience”. Mercedes being announced as partner in 2022 but in 2024 being so anti CarPlay 2.0.
As a bilingual person I was really hoping for a bilingual version of Siri and more importantly a seamless bilingual version of the predictive text feature on ios keyboard, since this feature was always absolutely horrible!
I just wanted CarPlay interface running on my phone screen when connected to my car radio. I use the standby midia control and works ok, but isn’t complete.
Does someone have a video about adding or removing songs via Siri on a playlist through CarPlay? I want to say, “remove this song from the current playlist.”
Why can't we use some basic homekit in carplay. Like I don't know open my garage doors? I don't mind using siri all the time, but it gets old if I'm already looking at a screen and either pulling in or worse in my case getting ready to back out.
Your garage door should already appear. That's been a thing for years. As you approach, the garage door will show on the split-view screen of CarPlay so you can tap to open it. Like you said, Siri works too.

Volkswagen will likely will be one of the first peoples car manufacturers to adopt next generation of CarPlay
