I have a tip for new players. If you lay down a blueprint for a construction you can right click the construction with a welder in hand. This will show you the required components in your build planner. You can then click the middle mouse button while facing an access point on your assembler or on a cargo containter that is linked to your assembler and you will automaticly drag the required components from your storage to your inventory. If you are missing some components, click the middle mouse button while holding down the shift key, still facing an access point, and the assembler will start producing the missing components. EDIT. This works with the basic assembler as well.

Many useful tips for new and veteran players alike. Here's one from me: If you want to grab all the required items for something you're building, you can use middle-mouse button when aiming at an inventory that connect to a cargo container with those items. You can stack it if you click multiple times. You will get a notification if some items were missing and how much. Incredibly handy and will speed up your builds.

I can't believe how lucky I got that it was in shot while I was messing with the assembler - gotta love some unplanned comedy :D The tutorials tend to take longer the further into the game I get, due to the concepts getting more complex it's harder to come up with clear and simple ways to explain it. I am usually happier to wait until I'm satisfied with the end product rather than rushing something out and having to correct it later :)

Second one with all speed modules and sorter for all others ores, but mostly stone. With all speed it's chews stone as insane. And an sorter with on/off button connected to All Yield modules refinery for more common ores if there are no "expensive" ones, if All Speed can't catch up.

And I have to say, I wish every game has a TH-camr like you; I never would've returned to this game if I hadn't watched that first survival tutorial. Keep up the good work Splitsie. I wish they were current videos like this when I started playing. I tend to use 2 yield and 1 power and speed module on most of my refineries.
Hi, new player here. I’ve been watching these videos in pieces now and then when I run into problems. It’s been a few years since you released these tutorials and they’re still helping new players. You can skip over this bit but I wanted to let you know that the upgrade module slots threw me for a loop. Until I watched this video I didn’t even know they were upgrade module slots and I thought that they were small conveyer ports.

Now that I've seen some of these tutorials, it's got me wanting to play for myself, so I've just bought the game and am about to try it out (and probably have to re-watch the tutorials :P ). Thanks Splitsie for some great content!
Been watching your SE for a year now without a computer to play it... until today when i found it on Xbox 😊 so I’m watching your tutorials to help me play!!!!
These tutorials got me into soace engineers. Played a couple of years ago but gave up because of difficulty, but these vids helped me find a new joy in the game! Looking forward to base designs since im doing well with mining i think, would love a mobile miner rover thing, and better ore detection.
Your videos are a godsend sir. I`d be completely lost without all the valuable tricks and tips you provide! Thank you so much for all the effort you put into sharing this in such a friendly and informative manner! :D
@@Splitsie If it`s not to forward of me. I wish to make a suggestion? Perhaps you could do a video on converting ships to be able to fly in space and on planets? =) Like a conversion or an all in one package =) That would be another lifesaver! Have a nice day, Sir.
@@alexanderrain5174 Interesting thought, I might try to include something like that when I do my large ship build in the tutorials. What I'm thinking is, design and build a large ship that's capable of both space and atmo flight, then (and you might need to remind me) take an atmo only build and make it space worthy so I can talk about how I would approach it while trying to keep the style intact :)
@@Splitsie This sounds amazing! I will be sure to remind you when the time comes ^^ Thank you again for your friendly and informative replies. Have a nice day =)
I added you on Steam. I hope you don't mind. I would like to speak to regarding some contribution to your channel and the ensured continuation of your videos =) I will not take it personally if you choose not to accept it =)
I look forward to a "how to make your base less atrocious to look at" tutorial. Thanks a bunch for the videos btw. Too poor to afford a good gaming PC so I settle for my console doubling as a bonfire as I play this game. It's nice to know how to play the game that's melting my Xbox as much as my brain and you do a very good job teaching smoothbrains like myself how to play in succinct and simple terms.
Love the tutorials! Must admit I cried with laughter when your rover just decided to steal some screen time. I could tell you were trying to ignore it whilst explaining 🤣🤣🤣
SE has been the most intimidating sandbox game i've purchased and has left me walking away from it because i'm just horrible with the logistics in this game. The closest i've come to something like this was Factorio and that was done with the help of others in game to manage. I decided to look up Farket to see if he had anything new and saw he picked up SE after the Forest. I loved watching his videos, but watching him take a stab at this game and he mentioned you and was giving you mad props was what made me come see your tutorial for this game. I started watching these today, and i must say, the amount of information you have provided in your videos has sparked a new found motivation to take another stab at this game. Amazing job in your introductions to everything you show in your videos. Thanks for uploading these videos!
Thanks Clayton, hopefully these will give you enough of a leg up to find the fun that Space Engineers offers after you get over that steep initial learning curve. I'll also tell Farket you came here from his new series :)
I really wish that they made the look of the upgrade module ports differ drastically in appearance from normal conveyor ports. They look too similar and is confusing to new players. They should look more like a power socket or something.
I love how the little rover just randomly starts wandering away, looks like someone left the parking brake off. Then that random hole full of those colourful flailing bots. 😂
@@Splitsie I'm suddenly reminded of the Simpsons episode when Homer found that auto-dialer, and it sprouted legs and tried to escape. I laughed so hard when he snapped the little legs off. 🤣 (I don't know what it was about it, but it just killed me!)
I'm currently waiting for the xbox one version of this game, and I am watching these to get an idea of how the game works. Very informative, keep up the good work!
I first bought this game a year ago and I couldn't figure it out so I lost interest quickly, just reinstalled it and after watching just a couple of your videos has completely changed my gameplay thank you!!
ill be honest ive been lazy to sub to your account cause ive just been binge watching this series, but that pit at the end just made me take this pause to do all this and sub
I'm still working on it, my day job got busy again for a while but hopefully I'll get to make some more progress as I've got 2 tutorials half finished at the moment :P
I used that disassembly mode on my basic assembler when I started getting to full from components I scrounged from those "Unknown signal" drones. I recognized pretty early I could get a lot of raw materials from those things.
This video was so helpful, and withe so many fact love that. You are the best👍🙂. I’m from Germany, but i understand most and if i don’t understand something you told what it do, perfect 👌
Thank you, these tutorials mostly have subtitles that I manually created as I know a few people who have English as a second language find them helpful. So they may be useful to you if I'm speaking too quickly or not clearly enough :)
I made an early game large block wheeled miner/refiner which is just amazing. It can mine 6x+ its own weight and has a full refinery, assembler, h/o2, survival, hydrogen engine with 8 large mining tools. It has a flying miner for hard to reach ore or for making a ramp for the big miner to use. It is still mostly mining the glacier and outer edge.
I'm planning on getting this game and the welder is really incredible! I can make a construction bay and just plan my vehicles inside and the welders would do the rest!
I'd love to, but this one took a while to get things right - I've been showing an early cut of the tutorials to my patreon group and this time around after the feedback I felt I needed to re-do the whole thing from scratch to get it right which is why it took even longer
I'll put that on the to-do list :) I've got another one coming soon, just giving it a final once over to check if I've messed things up, so it should be out later this week :)
The note at the 5:31 mark indicates that the Yield module only increase the output by a small amount. While this is true for the first Yield module, which increase the output by just 19%, the combined effect of more than one Yield module is cumulative. Two modules provide an increase of 41%; three provide a 68% increase and a full bay of four Yield modules will actually double your output. But as Splitsie also noted, you may want to balance the use of modules based upon needs and provisions because each module comes at a cost.
It's funny, I actually did most of this already. I made a medical room first, as I broke my chair in the respawn pod and didn't realize survival kits could recharge you, so the medical room was the second thing I made. The Refinery was the first!
It's kinda fun looking back on these sorts of things when you feel you know the game well, always amusing seeing the world through very different eyes :)
It is an excellent learning experience. The first playthrough is always different from any game after, as it's one you'll always remember. With experience comes a path of least resistance, but the first blind playthrough is nothing but learning. All in all, it's an unforgiving game, but it is quite satisfying to progress! Clang drive's next on my list to experiment with.
hmm i'd probably build a large cargo rocket with lots of cargo, hydrogen and oxygen storage, stash enough stuff to build a new refinery and assembler before blasting off. I suppose you could grind down your current base, but if you ever want to return for whatever reason then you would sit there with a husk of a base so that doesnt sound practical :)
I plan to - want to do a couple of tutorials on building a base, then I'll do a miniseries on building a large ship similarly to how I did it when I first made the tutorials :)
Love these videos, they've helped me a lot. I think new players should be aware that this guy is extremely conservative with resources and you do not need to be as frugal.
That's true, I try to push that side as much as I can to show what can be done with very, very little. My hope is that knowing how to do things with next to nothing puts people in a good position to achieve the same thing when they have a lot more available to them :)
I don't understand how you cannot have a more upvoted comment. This information is revolutionary :P thanks!

These tutorials got me into soace engineers. Played a couple of years ago but gave up because of difficulty, but these vids helped me find a new joy in the game! Looking forward to base designs since im doing well with mining i think, would love a mobile miner rover thing, and better ore detection.
Thanks, glad I could help you get into the game :)

Cant believe you actually replied, youre the first ever to haha. Thank you!! #StarStruck
thanks to you i could get into this wonderful game, im still fairly confused but youre the one who stopped me from quitting, thanks!
You're very welcome, glad I could help you get past some of the frustrating bits with the steep learning curve :)
500+ hours in and you still teach me things. Atta Boy!
Excellent, even 2500+ hours in, I'm still learning things too :)
Your videos are a godsend sir. I`d be completely lost without all the valuable tricks and tips you provide! Thank you so much for all the effort you put into sharing this in such a friendly and informative manner! :D
Thanks for the kind words and you're very welcome :)
I would like to speak to regarding some contribution to your channel and the ensured continuation of your videos =)
I will not take it personally if you choose not to accept it =)
I look forward to a "how to make your base less atrocious to look at" tutorial.
Thanks for another great video! Always seem to learn something new watching your videos!
You're very welcome, glad you're finding them useful :)
Love the tutorials! Must admit I cried with laughter when your rover just decided to steal some screen time. I could tell you were trying to ignore it whilst explaining 🤣🤣🤣
Hehe that truly was such a perfect unscripted moment :D
I Love These Videos many things i already know but your videos make me play the game again and Improve myself
Thanks, I'm glad they spark the interest to try to do some more stuff :)
I'v got nearly 6500 hours in game and I still watch your tutorial. They are just so good. :)
Thanks so much, always feel free to share some of your own wisdom too :)
There's certainly one thing i took away:
Assembler side access, doubles as module port.
... O.o ...
TIL
Ironically, it's something I learned back when I made my first tutorial series and a few people pointed it out to me :P
I really wish that they made the look of the upgrade module ports differ drastically in appearance from normal conveyor ports. They look too similar and is confusing to new players. They should look more like a power socket or something.
@@00Klingon Even if they'd just gone with a non-square shaped thing it would have made the difference easier for new players to see
This has been my GoTo for learning the game. Tyvm!
I just ordered my new computer keep them coming
Always an exciting time - also one where I'm very impatient waiting for it to arrive :P
Great tutorial. Will def help when I start the game for the first time tomorrow.
Thanks and I hope so :)
Thank you so much for these tutorials, I want to play this game with a fresh start, but it's been so frustrating until I had this to guide me\
Also, advanced machinery can't refine gold, but a caveman could do it with a campfire XD
You're very welcome, the learning curve is rough but once you get over it there's so much fun to be had that it's worth it :)
i was unaware you can que up components from other parts of the base to disasemble in the assembler also using the welder was clever too, well done.
Thanks, I'm trying to sneak in some of those little tips wherever I can :)
I love how the little rover just randomly starts wandering away, looks like someone left the parking brake off. Then that random hole full of those colourful flailing bots. 😂
Glad you enjoyed those bits, I couldn't believe that little rover tried to run away :D
Hopefully you won't have to wait too long :)
Hehe April is the release date... I've pre-ordered it tho i normally don't pre-order games as a rule because most aren't worth it
Awesome videos so far ! I am talking all the way from first episode till this one ! I liked them all and i certainly like the game so far !
Thanks so much :)
I'm returning to SE after a long time having put it down (I quit before wheels were even a thing) so this is fantastic.
Thanks, glad I can help drag you back into the game :)
Rover: Don't mind me, just having a leisure stroll down this slightly angled plain.
I first bought this game a year ago and I couldn't figure it out so I lost interest quickly, just reinstalled it and after watching just a couple of your videos has completely changed my gameplay thank you!!
I'm very glad I could help out :)
Looking to get this game soon, these tutorials have helped me learn a lot!
its been a while...
BUT WHO CARES!!! Another tutorial is always great! You've helped me so much with this amazing game.
Better late than horrible :D
@@Splitsie Always, Mate! Au Revoir!
Can't stop watching this series. Hope they release this asap on Xbox...
Love the clang pit at the end!
That was quite fun to make and to jump in when I made myself invincible :D
Hey, please keep making videos, these are awesome. So helpful.
Thanks, I've been working on the next one, hopefully won't be too long before it's out :)
Loved every video thus far. Great designs and great explanations. I can’t wait to see your base designs. I’m super curious.
Thanks, the first of the base design videos should be out this weekend :)
ill be honest ive been lazy to sub to your account cause ive just been binge watching this series, but that pit at the end just made me take this pause to do all this and sub
Thanks :)
I couldn't resist the temptation of making a clang pit :D
That truck Is killing IT😂😂😂
Dude, we miss this series!
Yep, they're a relatively rich source of stuff early on :)
@@Splitsie Thanks,
but it is interest and usefull to heat it in englisch, but thanks for the tip :-)
That's a great way to do things, also means you don't need to decide where to settle down until much later :)
The only bad thing with Space Engineers is the performance cap for bigger builds. I hope they keep finding a way to increase what we can do.
You're my favorite SE guy!
Thank you :)
another great tutorial looking forward to the next one
Thanks :)
I'm planning on getting this game and the welder is really incredible! I can make a construction bay and just plan my vehicles inside and the welders would do the rest!
pls do this series more often. its great
I'd love to, but this one took a while to get things right - I've been showing an early cut of the tutorials to my patreon group and this time around after the feedback I felt I needed to re-do the whole thing from scratch to get it right which is why it took even longer
You're the best splitsie keep on rockin.
Thanks :)
Love the videos please keep them coming. I would like to see your take on a wheeled drilling rig.
I'll put that on the to-do list :)
I've got another one coming soon, just giving it a final once over to check if I've messed things up, so it should be out later this week :)
OMG! ANOTHER SURVIVAL TUTORIAL, IT'S FINALLY HAPPENING!!!!!!!!!!!!
Had to make sure it was ready before posting it :)
CALM DOWN EVERYBODY CALM DOWN!
Another Great vid chap. keep up the good work
Thanks Bigol :)
I about peed laughing at that rover just inching away. Real good chuckle!
lol I am so happy it was in shot when it happened, got very lucky :)
True, I probably could have chosen a more correct way to phrase that little bit :)
Hope you'll do a tutorial on leaving earth for good with all your goodies to make space your home!
hmm i'd probably build a large cargo rocket with lots of cargo, hydrogen and oxygen storage, stash enough stuff to build a new refinery and assembler before blasting off.
Thank you so much for these vids! They're excellent!
Thanks and you're very welcome :)
1 power 1 speed 2 yield. great jack of all trades refinery
Lol... Those wild tumble-weed bots at the end there are a riot.
Hehe thanks :)
Someone's ghost riding your whip! lol
Not played for a while so recapping with your great videos. That rover driving past made me 😂😂
That couldn't have worked out better if I'd planned it :D
