but they might have thought they can get caught if they use their private cars. these were early days, so they did not think of rental cars using their IDs
In truth, he always was. He knew how to cook, but that's it. He knew nothing about the actual business of meth, and would have been busted or killed in like a month or less by himself. He NEEDED Jesse, and really needed him more than he even knew.

Fair question, but from what I remember from the episode, they didn’t think that was necessary. They thought the gas would just be able to power the generator as needed. This curveball came entirely out of nowhere for them. But I do need to rewatch the episode and the show, so take what I say with a grain of salt.
Imagine they just stopped here with almost 700 grand and just used that money to start some legit business or invested it. Their lives would continue, they'd be rich, and remain best friends

Even watching it now sober I am crying. This show was CLASSIC, shout out my ex for putting me on. She knows good television!
They coulda just siphoned gas off the RV, started the gennie again. All of the generators I have seen in the last 20y have a 12v output. Granted, it's very low amperage, but you could easily trickle-charge the battery in the RV with the generator they have in a few hours, there was no need to create a battery out of funyuns and random shit.
Absolute nonsense that Walt used the median weights of the bags for this calculation instead of the mean. As such a proficient scientist Walt’s character should never make such a mistake. The advantage that median typically provides over mean is it excludes outliers, which is useful for statistical analyses. But for this calculation, Walt would want to include outliers because they will still be selling each bag at the same rate, scaling with weight, regardless of whether that weight is unusually high or low. He should want to account for every pound. Using median here makes his final figure a rough estimate which is vulnerable to hidden outliers, as opposed to an exact calculation which takes outliers into account.
If he had the mean, it would mean he had the total weight 😂 which I believe he would have had just adding it up as they weighed it. For dramatic effect, they wrote the scene like this
This whole series just shows how greed makes you devide stupid things. They could have stopped right here. And thry could have lived their lives peacefully.
