- In this often-humorous talk, Katie Schneider invites us to challenge our beliefs about introverts and extroverts. A self-proclaimed introvert, she has good advice for all of us, introverts and extroverts alike: "In a world where we are constantly told to hurry up, we need to take a deep breath, and learn to slow down and value the pause."
Katie Schneider is currently an 8th grade English Language Arts teacher at Bunsold Middle School in Marysville. She graduated from The Ohio State University with a bachelor’s in English and earned a Master’s degree in Middle Childhood Education at Otterbein University. She has been a teacher for 15 years with Marysville Schools, and in that time, has taught 5th grade ELA, 7th grade ELA, 7th grade Social Studies, and 8th grade Social Studies. Katie lives in Lewis Center with her husband, her two children. She enjoys reading, watching movies, and spending time with her family, friends, and her two cats, Frost and Poe (named after two of her favorite poets!) This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx
Im an introvert but I do exhibit extroverted tendencies at work, I put up an act which can drain me mostly.
Same, but I feel like we are better off doing this to succeed in life in general. I'm trying to figure out how to also get alone time at work to recharge as to not go back home completely drained and just want to sleep all day in bed.
Same. I put up an act at social events at work and let them know in advance that I have to leave early because I have “plans”. Plus, I’m not at work to make friends… I’m there to work lol
Yah..!! Let's celebrate for being an introvert with extrovert tendencies.✨
I love that you are using cards to talk. I have to have something visual to look at if i get up to talk.
As an introvert, and also from the education sector. I can relate to this..
Me too😩 i put on an act very damn well to get through the day.
After watching her presentation, it is my contention that the separation of introverts and extroverts is meaningless.
Finally someone gets it!!!
My dream career is to be chef but I'm an introvert...the downside of this career is talking to everyone everyday😢
