Wow! I can't remember the last time I saw a merry-go-round. When I was a kid, we used to get that merry-go-round spinning as fast as we could then let the centrifugal force fling our bodies across the playground. I'm surprised no one broke any bones. Ah, another rite of passage.

Sounds like my childhood! One of my classmates temporarily ended up in wheelchair from the merry-go-round! I miss tire swings and see-saws / teeter-totters!

@@cag19549 Colorado generally is gaining in population. We don't have to worry about sea level rise from global warming here, and we're one place out West that doesn't have to worry so much about the Colorado River declining! (just my twisted gallows humor. There's lots of reasons to live in Colorado!)

Does anyone take the time to teach their kid's anything or take their eye's off their phones to actually spend real time with their kids? Just curious!

Thank you Adam for considering Vernal and Dinosaur national. I hope i was able to influence you for this video. I was certain you would find some roadside attractions.
You may later in life comeback and drive the northern loop towards flaming gorge. The drive down to Rifle Colorado from vernal is also quite beautiful. The national park in vernal is a fun quick visit for some dino fossils.
    Now we share some history....
Glenwood springs great choice for the night. In Denver don't forget the train depot in downtown. Might be a fun place to fill your Coffee cup.

Oh these pronunciations are killing me LOL!! Heber (and Weber) both have a long ee sound... Hee-bur and Wee-bur. Duchesne is pronounced Doo-Shane. Vernal is Vern-ul. Been really liking the videos on my home state of Utah. I've done this drive quite a few times, and it is always beautiful and very enjoyable. The science nerd in me loves this area of the state. Too bad you didn't check out any of the dinosaur stuff around Dinosaur National Monument in the Vernal area, the Museum of Ancient Life at Thanksgiving Point in Lehi, or the Natural History Museum of Utah in Salt Lake. This be dinosaur country and is also a massive ancient sea bed (Lake Bonneville), so we have some of the best fossil collections, geology and natural history anywhere. Thanks for giving Utah some love, the videos were great!!

Those are Scottish Highland cattle - even the females have horns! They are getting to be a very popular breed here in the USA! Those aren’t all bulls- probably lots of cows! Their meat is less fatty than Angus or Hereford cattle, but they do tolerate and prefer cooler climes!

Back in early 90s. (90-91-92) I took a two week trip from East Tn. To Yellowstone. We did parts of the Oregon Trail. We ended up in Cascade ID looking for hot springs. Found them. With 4 days to get home we set out south to Salt Lake, then across to Dinosaur, then Aspen to Denver. While we were in Dinosaur we went to yhe Park. At the toll booth the guy told us that back country hiking was closed for the week for a Hollywood production filming. We ask which film. He did not know the name but did say that some of the actors he had seen he believed it to be a Star Trek movie. The rumors at the wall of fossils was it was but there wasn't many people. Later found out it was Star Trek Generations. They filmed the whole trying to intersept the ribbon scene.

My brother was murdered at what used to be the scenic view coming into Vernal from the West
He was 21 and had just been honorably discharged from the army. That was 50 years ago and we hope to have the cold case solved by the anniversary Nov 26.

It’s great that the people that know your genre and make things for you and experience them because they can’t and I can’t at the moment that you’re taking a breath and enjoying it

We just left Vernal to drive to Salt Lake today. We went to Vernal to visit the dinosaurs. Nice to see your experience on the trip. It was hard to return to all the traffic in Salt Lake. Road trips are the best.

Great video. You missed the dinosaur national monument that's why there are so many dinos.

One of my favorite drives. I’d go on and on, but I prefer the so-called “dinosaur diamond” to not be too popular, yet.
