    Sierra Space should dump ULA and work with SpaceX, too many unknowns with ULA that’s part of Boeing.

      And we will be stuck with legacy systems for decades, just as we are stuck with that weird offset docking module that's on the ISS. It was designed that way to accommodate one specific configuration of the shuttle, which flew that way exactly once, then was retired.
      Now all the new ships are stuck using a docking port with a dumb bend in it.
      Sierra will be fitted with an ISS docking ring, and when the ISS is scrapped, we will be stuck with that docking ring for every new station going forward even if something much better is available.
      Care to see a real-world example?
      Many years ago, there was a spreadsheet program named VisiCalc.
      Since every spreadsheet program has spent decades sprucing it up, renaming it, and selling the same original code, all of the VisiCalc command codes and function buttons work the same way in the latest and greatest version of Excel.

    NASA needs to understand how to use the Dragon versus Dreamchaser. They each have different designs and, as such, different capabilities. I believe the Dreamchaser should be used for all ISS personal transferes back and forth to Earth. Use Dragon as a more capable platfore for longer duration missions and advanced cargo delivery

    To Launch Dream Chaser is costly over Dragon Heavy. Even if ULA can recover the main rocket and reuse, the faring and boosters are a $lose$. The idea is good for passengers to what ever station or work in space is needed but needs to be on recoverable and reusable rockets. We have more than enough junk in space today and these systems like Stare Link must be stopped.

  • @chikes4862
    @chikes4862 หลายเดือนก่อน

    If Starship starts working, all other rockets will become redundant, because no rocket can compete with launch prices. Unfortunately, Dream Chaser will be dragged along in this situation. And all this because of Ula and Boeing, who are there alone. the cause of his. NASA just doesn't want to lose face with the wrong choices. If a disaster happens to the crew and capsule that is now hanging on the ISS, then NASA has a big problem. It is said why not send a crew dragon to the ISS. I think that the suits of the two astronauts will not match the connections of crew dragon, so extra suits would have to be brought along, but those suits are custom made, so ??? big problem
