    There's one more thing to add to the notes below: In the Video I said that I thought this chassis would fit the Scalextric Challenger as well, but it won't unfortunately. The Challenger's body mounting configuration is different to the 'Cuda, in that it uses four screws instead of three.

    Dennis, for those of us who are not tech giants and new to slot cars it would of been great to see you put the chassis completely together. With recommendations for the other parts we would need to order. You are a good teacher and I and I bet others would learn much.

    Dennis here:
    Points to note about a conversion using this chassis kit are:
    1. The stock motor won't work, as it is an endbeel drive only whereas the pod is designed to take a can drive motor.
    2. Some of the Slot.it 23k motors, the ones with the brownish, square endbell, will not fit this pod, as it has been molded to support the motor closely over the top of the endbell.
    3. You will need to cut away a bit of the interior to clear the motor, as it sits further forward than the stock position owing to its narrow angle to the rear axle. But it's not a lot of cutting and does not interfere with the seats or the driver, it just removes the interior floor immediately behoind the seats.
    Once this is done, and with the tires of your choice on 15.8 x 8mm front and rear wheels, you will have a really nice car. I used a very mild 19k motor in the one I built along with regular Slot.it plastic wheels up front with trued stock tires and some 8mm aluminum wheels at the back with 1171N22 tires. I geared the car 11:32 using Slot.it 6.5mm pinion and 18mm gear and it's perfect.

      Again, and this time hopefully Marco sees this, as popular as this type of car is (and I have 6 of them myself) why can't someone step up and make some some Trans Am cars that look right, have a lightweight body and have all the good stuff out of the box? The Thunder Slot Shelby is a step in the right direction but it's not a TA car... I don't know anyone in this hobby who doesn't have a Scalextric or Pioneer TA car so the sales would be extremely strong right away.... no doubt...

    When is a company going to step up and make some properly shaped and detailed,one piece, lightweight body, modern set screw parts and pod chassis series of Trans Am cars? These Scalextric cars are junk but still might be the most popular 32nd scale slot cars in America... and now pushing 70 bucks for a car you have to rebuild as soon as you take it out of the box! The CG chassis and Slot it/ NSR parts needed for this conversation add up to around 50 dollars or more and Dennis did not even get into the amount of cutting needed to accomplish this project! Scalextric Trans Am cars are old news and they have done NOTHING to improve the performance in 20 years and in fact, it has gotten(Challenger, Cougar)worse! And while the Pioneer cars are better, it's still the same old stuff and more expensive then anything Slot It makes!!! Who agrees with me???

      There's a little bit of cutting needed on the interior to clear the motor in the new pod, and a little bit to shorten the spoiler, but it's really not a lot of work.

      @@pebblestonemodelcarcircuit8253 what about the front and rear valance panels? It IS alot of work especially if you don't want to repaint... I've done it on a Mustang and that Godawful Challenger so I definitely know what I'm talking about...
