- ebay authentication process questions have been popping up lately since ebay did changes to the authentication requirements for shoes. The process is actually very simple and here ill show you how to do it.

I got a rlly good deal on a shoe and it’s been 5 days since I’ve bought and they haven’t been shipped yet should I be worried
@Riley Johnson shipped from the seller or from authentication. If it's from the seller, check what their handling time is. Also we are in a holiday weekend so shipping might be a bit late that usual. If they don't ship it by Tuesday of this week, then try to contact ebay and see whays going on. Worse case is your order will be canceled and you'll have to find the shoes from someone else.

Just had shoes that I ordered returned to the seller because they did not pass authentication. I received a full refund.

What makes an item eligible for this program?
I sold a pair of shoes under new with defects and they were very strict abt that when there were tiny marks on the box and toe of shoe, they’re going to ship the shoes back and they’re making me pay double the price of shipping. I got these pairs off eBay a while ago to put on display, never messed with them nor wore them. I decided I should try to sell them because I’m low on money.
They are extremely strict with new anything. I've been noticing that the pattern whether it's new or new with defects or just new anything. I sell mostly used and never had a problem with it but I do kno they are extremely strict with new. Unfortunately that's how ebay wants to do it now and we don't have a choice in it anymore.

Do I need to include any forms in the box? Like how does the Authentication people know the customer’s address?
You don't have to include anything. Pack it up like any order and the way they'll know is by the label. In the label it has the order number or a sequence of numbers which ebay will know for what order the shoes are for.

Don't understand some parts here... do I need to put 'authenticated' on the listing or is that automatically added to the listing how can I list them as Authentic before I know if they passed?? and then you did not explain the shipping process do I need to ship it to the authentication center and if so WHat is that address ?

I just purchased a card recently that had to go through the eBay authentication program. This is my first time dealing with something like this. They say it failed their authentication but I know for a fact that the card is the real deal they still say it’s being shipped off to me even though it failed. Hopefully it does ship to me because if they ship it back to seller I’m gonna be pissed. I’ve read that If the seller has any little minute details off in the listing it will fail as long as I get my purchase I’m good.

Yes you would. I believe that you'll, as the buyer, get an email saying it was authenticated and then along with that email, you'll get the new tracking number, which is from ebay authentication to your address

I’ve sent plenty I am Ebay. My last one was a Louis Vuitton watch, but now I have a found an Hermes bag and I need knows how to go getting his back authenticated through eBay first before even listing it?
It will have to sell first and than it'll go through authentication. If it's not in a category or not at the price point needed, then it won't go through authentication.
When listing your item, can you still shoes cheapest shipping method or must you choose Fedex, since the item will be going to authentication first?
It must go FedEx. When it's going to authentication, you don't have a choice with shipping carriers unfortunately.
How will the pack the item after authentication?? I take pride in my wrapping and no doubt it will be ruined once they open it to authenticate it
They will pack it up in a plain brown box with the shoes inside an ebay bag, little bit of brown wrapping paper and that's it. I'll try to make a short tomorrow and show you exactly how they repack it.
Do we get the item authenticized before the items sell, or after the items sells? I'm confused.
They get authenticated after the item sells. When the item sells, the seller get a label and that label is to ship it to authentication. If it passes, then ebay repackages it and ebay send it to the buyer. If it doesn't pass authentication, the buyer get a refund and the item goes back to the seller
when my sneaker goes to ebay guarantee authenticity is it supposed to mark as delivered because mines marks as delivered then u get a new tracking number?
Yes, that how it should be. The first tracking should be from the seller to the authentication place. Once its been authenticated, you'll get another tracking which is from authentication to you as the buyer.

Hi, what happened if I don’t have a printer and I am a seller how im going print the label does USPS print label For me? Items that I sell I just write the name and the address by hand. That’s why I’m asking. Sorry for your time.
Authentication goes through fedex so it wouldn't be going through usps. Also if you are selling, you really should be printing the label with tracking so you can prove a package arrived if anything happens. I believe FedEx gives you an option for QR code but I'm not sure since I always print my labels directly for ebay.

Yes, I will have to buy a printer then and when I ship my items through USPS, they always give me a tracking number, even if my packages are written by hand. And I also I just find out that when you print the labels through eBay, you save money so it’s more convenient. Yes I absolutely will have to buy a printer then.
How do you know if they are being shipped to buyer compared to ebay?
When you order, the first tracking will show you either Vegas or New York as the destination. That's where they go for authentication. Once it's verified authentic, ebay will give the buyer a second tracking but this time with the buyers address and in our order details, I think it gives us an updated tracking to show us where it is as well. Essentially if an item as to be authenticated, it'll let us sellers know and now it'll go by FedEx even if you don't use FedEx.
Okay so this is my experience after several times using this authentication guaranteed. First, this guaranteed program does not qualify for international shipping and sending to a P.O Box. Second, you will see the buyers address (not sure), however you will know it will be sent to the guaranteed facility if you see the words T/C on it.
how long does it normally take for the shoes to get to the authenticator?
It depends on where your located. I know there's one facility in Vegas but I'm not sure if there's on in the east coast but generally I would say between 3-7 days if not shorter or longer. I've had some shoes get there in 2 days and others that took almost 2 weeks but most have been between 3-7 days
The ebay authentication is SO frustrating. Make sure every single detail of the listing is 100% correct or it will fail. I mistyped the color code into a pair of Nikes and they failed because of it. To make things worse, anything bought through ebay authentication instantly removes any communication between the buyer and seller. After the shoes failed "authentication" the buyer messaged me saying they don't care about that and still wanted the shoes. Ebay doesn't care whatsoever. Why do they allow the buyer to message me but not allow me to message back? That only makes it look like I am ignoring them! I can't deliver the shoes he wants to him all because I mistyped a stupid color code. NO ONE knows what a color code even is. I think the idea of authentication is great but the execution is garbage. Now the buyer is mad and I can't even respond (can't wait for the negative feedback), the seller is unhappy and out round trip shipping. This is just so annoying.
Agree. I don't understand the point of not being able to message the buyers if a pair sells through authentication and your right, one little misspell or wrong detail/not put in the description is grounds for a fail which is dumb.

I just shipped out a pair today that had already sold at this point and I am biting my fingernails despite knowing full well they are authentic. I'm never doing this again. I'll just do Poshmark and Mercari for those items. Ebay is rapidly becoming my cheap stuff sales location. It just isn't worth getting screwed on high dollar items on the platform. I have been screwed MANY times on electronic items too so I only sell items 40 bucks and less on ebay now. I got ripped off by a scammer last year for 600 bucks. I sent him an upgraded motherboard with dual CPUs, he sent me back his old motherboard. I had an uninterrupted video of the testing and boxing process with no break and ebay didn't even want to receive it. They said "work it out with the buyer". The buyer that SCAMMED me... just work it out. Can you tell I'm mad?
When I go to print my label, will there only be one label to choose from? What I’m asking is will the label for the authentication center be the only one available to print or I have to select it? I don’t know if the label I printed is the buyer’s address or authentication address
It will only be one label and that label will be for the authentication address. If it passes authentication, then authentication will be the ones sending it to the buyer. The label you will be receiving will have the authentication address.

If the shoes selling for less than $100 they don't need to be authenticated?
Depending on the brand and model, shoes, I believe either $70 or $75 and above will have to go through authentication.
Hi! On ebay it says shipping is provided through fedex, does this mean I can’t use a USPS priority mail box? I also always use QR codes to ship, would this not be allowed if i have to use fedex? thank you!
Your correct. You can't use a usps priority box when shipping via FedEx.
I'm not sure if fedex has QR codes to ship, but I believe they can print the label out at one of their locations.

The fail to check toe box shapes and glue stain and uneven tongue, bought a military black for over 500$ with glue stain and uneven tongue then eBay take the seller side eBay really need to evaluate especially if buyer ask the seller for any defects of flaws, if the seller lied it should be an automatic refund or exchange so disappointing to buy a 500$ shoe with flaws and defects.
I get what your saying. What I can tell, they only check for authentication,not for flaws. If the flaws were shown in the pictures and described in the description, there nothing else the seller could've done. If the seller didn't describe or show any of those things, I would contact ebay and see what your recourse could be.
I didn’t know my purchase had authentication, They shipped it and the tracking showed it was on its way to Astoria NY 😟, that’s when I found out authenticators will inspect it first and if it pass it will be shipped to me if not they will send it back to the seller.
Yes that's how the process works now. What used to be where you could get the shoes in 1-4 days take longer now because they have to authenticate it first.

@Ammar Mustafa I believe there will be a second tracking number once it's authenticated. They'll probably email you or it'll be updated in your order details.
What happens if eBay authenticity lose my item

So I’ve charged £8.95 Special Delivery, but having to post to authentication programme first. Will the authentication centre post it onto the buyer using the same special delivery service (which covered me for £600 compensation) it’s so unclear and confusing on the eBay website.
Yes, ebay chargers the buyer everything, you won't have to pay for the shipping to authentication. The compensation part, I'm unclear since I haven't had to file a claim but I'm sure you are covered up to a certain amount of it were to get lost during transit to authentication
How did this end out working for you ? did you send the parcel special delivery to ebay authentication or how did it work ??? 😅 Or do you just send it to them normally and they send it on special delivery ?
@@MJT123. hey, yes I sent it to eBay using special delivery (wanted to make sure it was fully traceable and covered) and they posted it out to the buyer using the same or equivalent method. My only grumble was the authenticator was slow in posting it out to the buyer as it’s supposed to be a quick turnaround. I had to email them in the end as it was quite a few days past when the buyer should have received it!

I don't believe that will matter. They will still be shipped to authentication again and shipped to the buyer from there.

Will Vegas authentication have the address that I provided the seller, for when it’s time to ship to me? The seller does have my correct address.
Yes, the authentication place will be sending it to the address that you had on file when you purchased the shoes. Your best option would be to call ebay and see if they can switch your address before authentication sends it out. Once sent out, there not much you can do

So is the item is not authentic, does the seller get a strike on ebay? I live in Vegas, can I just go to the eBay authenticate facility with my items before listing them?
If it's not authentic, you'll get the item back to you and maybe you might get a strike on your account, I'm not sure how that works. If they see your keep sending in things that aren't authentic, I think they'll ban your account, that's just speculation on my part. Unfortunately you can't go to the Vegas location before listing it. When the items sales, you automatically get a label for FedEx and it has to be send via FedEx.
They don't only check for authenticity, they comb through your listing and if anything is not correct it fails, making it look like you are a scammer. I mistyped the color code for a pair of Nike shoes and they got rejected. The fun part is that ebay then blocks any communication between you and the buyer so you look even worse. My buyer messaged me (he can message me but I can't message back... great idea there ebay) still wanting the shoes, not even knowing what the color code is. I can't even give the customer what he wants and I am stuck with round trip shipping charges. I'm probably going to get negative feedback BECAUSE of ebay too. I am done dealing with this garbage. I am selling all of my high dollar shoes elsewhere.
What happens if you don't print your labels? Does it tell me where to send the shoes? And how will they know the buyers info?
If you don't print the label, you'll get a ding on your account for not shipping the item. It doesn't tell you the address of the buyer, the label only has the address of the ebay authentication place. The label that is given to you by eBay has a order number or some number sequence on it and that's how eBay knows which order is for which person. You only have to worry about sending it to ebay and that's it.
So should I not use ebay to sell items like Jordan's if I don't have a printer for labels?
You can still sell them. you can print the label from any printer. It can be from a thermal printer or a regular ink jet. I could be wrong about this, but i believe if you show your QR code to FedEx, they will still accept the package and print the label for you at their location.

You should be fine. One time I had a pair of shoes for 3 days at authentication. After the 3rd day, contact ebay and see what they tell you.

There isn't a way to circumvent the authentication process. The label that is generated always goes to one of ebays authentication locations and once a buyer buys a pair, the buyer and seller can no longer communicate since eBay takes it from there. The seller just packs and ships them and that's it.

@ZMediaNetwork ebay gives sellers 3 days to ship them out. If you already bought the shoes then the seller won't be able to message you anymore since ebay blocks communication between seller and buyer once the purchase is made. If the seller doesn't ship within the 3 days since your purchase, contact ebay to cancel the sale because there really isn't anything ebay can do to force the seller to ship the shoes.

@ZMediaNetwork I don't believe they will. With my experiences being a buyer, I always had to open a case or contact ebay to actually cancel a order when it went beyond the shipping time.

The money might be on hold either because your a new seller or your account needs to be updated with some information. You can either download thee label and print it yourself or you can maybe print it at FedEx. I'm not sure how that is since I always print my own labels. It'll first be sent to authentication and once it's been authenticated, it'll be sent to the buyer. If it fails authentication, it'll be returned to you

@chombethemindisall8404 technically they will take it out of your pocket because ebay already gave you the money. They'll just be refuding the buyer the same amount that you got paid for the shoes.
I'm not sure how long it'll take for the funds to release. Could be a day or a week. It'll be easier to message ebay and ask them why your funds are on hold.

I'm not sure how it would work with international sales. I would assume it's the same process but I don't know how that would work. Unless I'm misunderstanding your question.

@cockles1985 ah okay got it. A way you can get them authenticated is to use the app CheckCheck. That's the one I use to get higher end shoes authenticated. It does cost like 3 bucks but it's worth it for the peace of mind. Just remember though to describe your listing accurately on ebay because if they see even a single scratch that wasn't disclosed, they won't pass authentication which is dumb but that's how it is now.

Yes they still do. The box only applies to shoes that are listed with a box. If your selling a used pair or new pair without a box, it'll still get checked.

I don't think you ever do since you don't deal with shoes lol but yea with new shoes if the box is dented or anything the sale is canceled atleast according to other sellers.

@@EdTheResellingRider yes it must have as this was dec 15th I paid on eBay to the seller n straight away he messaged me and asked if I would mind about the box having a very slight dent , I said no and then I got a message from eBay themselves saying the shoes had been sent to the authenticator, the process with shipping n authentication was really less than a week, thing is tho all it is is a tag just the same as stock x.. ps I’m in the uk

I'm not sure what 1:1 quality reps means, I don't sell any high end shoes lol, but if the authenticator sees anything that makes them think it's not real, it won't pass authentication.

If its not 100% authentic, then it wont pass. When you ship it out to ebay and it get to the authentication center and if it fails, and this part is just speculation on my part, you might get a ding on your account and if you keep sending in shoes that arent authentic , theyll just ban you account because ebay will think that all you shoes are fake. Again that last part is just speculation on my part.

@SHIKO GAMING it's any product that ebay sees fit. An example would be I have 2 pairs of Air Max 270's. Both priced at $60. One has to go to authentication while the other doesn't. I have a pair if $30 vans that has to go to authentication. It's whatever ebay wants.

Yes theyll be sent to Vegas Or New York for Authentication and then theyll be sent to you as the buyer after authentication

I think they think that card enthusiast or sneakerhead enthusiast is qualified enough to be authenticators. It does suck that they don't give us a precise reason, but sadly nothing we can do but play their game. Until another platform can bring ebay traffic, we are stuck.
Ya. The card I sold has never been faked so it’s authentic. It’s obviously to do with condition. I posted 8 pics of the card. Close ups of corners. The card is in near mint condition.
But those people authenticating at Ebay are not real experts. They are just self-proclaimed experts who think they know everything about an item because they own it, or are fans of it.
100% true. Even ebay has said exactly what you said. They called them "Sneaker enthusiasts" so like you said, they are proclaimed expert but that's what ebay wants and nothing we can do but follow their rules unfortunately.

@pe.woods1722 unfortunately ebay doesn't give you a choice to send to authentication or not. You can't send straight thr the buyer, I assume you meant buyer.
Literally going threw this now baught some retro Jordan 11s jubilee. I was checking the tracking and it said las Vegas I was like wtf this mf sent my shoes to another mf had to google the process cuz i thought i was scammed bad bad
Yea that's normal for it to go to Vegas. That's one of their authentication locations. If they pass authentication, you'll be getting the shoes soon.
