      @Ali Ajmeri You have a point, yes, but many bhakts were considered Sufis too, including Guru Nanak etc. The bhakti movement was very intertwined with Sufi traditions.

    • @ishubetterthanyou1582
      @ishubetterthanyou1582 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @Ali Ajmeri Guru Nanak was seen as a Sufi in many shrines and there was no "Sikhism" in his time. That developed later on. Know your timeline atleast. There's even a story of a dispute between muslims and Hindus as to bury his body or burn it because they both considered him to be from their faith. Your knowledge lacks too much basic history.

    Not bad! Here's some additional context that I think the viewers might be interested in:
    * The etymology of Kashmir is likely traced to the Hindu saint Kashyapa.
    * Kashmiris are known to have worshipped the sun god Surya, with many temples still standing in the region to prove as a testament to this
    * Rinchan's first choice was to convert to Hinduism, but was rejected by a popular priest due to his Tibetan ancestry. It's a tantalising what if.

    • @taby9756

      There are just literary references to him similar to the ancient records of literary evidence mentioning Rishi Kashyap in Vedas as one of the Saptarishis....
      And mind u if the stories of Rishi Kashyap are myths .....then, so are stories regarding Mohammad which are also exaggerated as hell....
      So, how can u be so sure that Mohammad existed, if Kashyap did not??
      And do not doubt the historicity of the ancient Vedic records.....historians and analysts have certainly traced it about 3500 years ago.....

      The video literally said kashmir was an isolated region for most part of the millennium. Also there is no such thing as called "indian culture". Sub-continent culture is a collection of a large number of local cultures which did influence one another but at the same time can be easily differentiated from one another. There was no one India or Indian culture. It's always has been collection of different kingdoms and large number of local cultures. Regarding the indigenous kashmir, all of them are real kashmir as majority of them had converted to Islam. Them converting to a different religion doesn't make less of a kashmiri.

    • @Aquacrystal78
      @Aquacrystal78 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      The Kashmir was never Ethincally changed. Sure Conversions happened and some people left.
      But before Kashmir was Hindu it was quite Buddhist.
      But the Leftover Population was also Kashmiris.
      Subcontinent is made sub local cultures of different people.
      That's why you have so many different Languages. Hindus are not an ethinic Monolith.
      Local people changing there religion doesn't mean they are not indigenous to the land anymore.Kashmiri are the only left Kashmiri.

    Al Muqaddimah;
    You lack basics of Indian history - sadly its not uncommon at all. Its not "Umaad caliphate" (as you pronounce it at 1:54) but 'Ummayyad Caliphate' - in English. I will leave pronunciation mistakes made in this video at this - I was expecting a Muslim to pronounce at least such well-known phrases/words accurately.
    You also mention (2:08) existence of "Islamic emirates", another example exhibiting lack of cursory understanding of Indian history. To claim these monarchies or in some cases feudatories to be "Islamic emirates" is akin to claiming modern-day France being a Christian state - just because France is culturally Christian and holds onto liberalism which rose from Christianity. Sadly, I see a total lack of understanding even of the gist of Indian history.
    Shockingly you also claim, "Islam finally broke into India on the back of Mahmud of Ghazni's horse." (2:20)
    Firstly, this is blatant and gross misrepresentation of Indian history especially the history of Islam in "India". Unfortunately, many Pakistanis are taught this farce. Even the most unread person in India at least knows that Islam flourished in southern-"India" (Malabar coastal regions) way before Muhammad ibn Qasim, thanks to the Arab merchants and settlers! Ironically, even Islamophobes don't dispute this.
    Secondly, there was no "India" back then (this is a fact which most modern Indians themselves don't understand). The so-called Indian subcontinent has for the most of the time, till the arrival of Central-Asian rulers, been made of different and divided mandalas, kingdoms, monarchies, feudatories, headed by different leaders, kings, rulers or chiefs - except for the Buddhist ruler Ashok who conquered most of these and covered almost entire 'Indian subcontinent'.
    For instance, before the arrival of Muhammad ibn Qasim, territories of Sindh were ruled by Raja Dahir - a Hindu - whilst the majority of the population was Buddhist. Before Raja Dahir, the "Rai-dynasty" (Buddhist) ruled over the territories of Sindh.
    All in all, to claim that advent of Islam in India coincides with Mahmud Ghaznawi entering India and, even hinting at the idea of an existence of "India" are both ridiculous and far away from objective and factual history. The concept of a "state" is a modern one and unknown to ancient people of the land referred to as the "Indian subcontinent".
    Apart from this there are several historical and other inaccuracies in your videos, one example is of 'Jizyah', it isn't "a head-tax on non-Muslims" as you claim. Jizyah is to be paid by the able-bodied young non-Muslim men who weren't a part of the army (of the kingdom) defending the kingdom. Females, children, mendicants, the destitute, old and, those able-bodied non-Muslim men in the kingdom's army didn't have to pay Jizyah. Muslims paid Zakah to the king and his treasury, which was higher than Jizyah and was applicable on males, females, old and young (15 or above) irrespective of the fact whether or not the men were a part of the army of the kingdom or not - until and unless they were destitute (below nisaab). Thus, if Jizyah is a "tax", so is "Zakah" which was always higher than Jizyah and was applicable on all Muslims.
    I suggest that you do deep-researches instead of cursory ones to understand the real history of what is today called the Indian subcontinent.

      @Mario Fonseca;
      I don't know which part of India you come from but apparently you don't know much about India - I assume you are an Indian. Because most Indians are ignorant of their own history and religion(s) so much so that they have been brainwashed to equate myth with history - I don't expect much from Pakistanis either. To help you understand what I said in my previous comment, the so-called "Indian subcontinent" region was never one state (which are a modern phenomenon) with one name in ancient times. Ashok and Aurangzeb were two monarchs who conquered (or gain allegiance of) almost the entire Indian subcontinent.
      If you read the most ancient Hindu texts, the name of the region where Hindus resided was called 'Aryavarta' (in other texts its also called as Bharat-varsha). For example, Manu-smriti the most important and famous dharma-shastra (texts on Hindu jurisprudence, legislation et cetera) states that,
      "आ समुद्रात् तु वै पूर्वादा समुद्राच्च पश्चिमात् ।
      तयोरेवान्तरं गिर्योरार्यावर्तं विदुर्बुधाः ॥ २२ ॥
      ā samudrāt tu vai pūrvādā samudrācca paścimāt |
      tayorevāntaraṃ giryorāryāvartaṃ vidurbudhāḥ || 22 ||
      The country extending as far as the Eastern Ocean and as far as the Western Ocean, and lying between the same two mountains,-the learned know as ‘Āryāvarta.’ (22)." [1]
      To explain this shloka (verse) I quote the famous commentator of Manu-smriti, Medhatithi, who notes,
      "The particle ‘āṅ’ (in ‘āsamudrāt’) indicates the outer not the inner boundary, and it does not indicate inclusion. Hence the islands in the oceans do not come under ‘Āryāvarta.’ What are mentioned here are the four boundaries of the country: the Eastern Ocean on the east, the Western Ocean on the west, the Hiṁālaya on the north and the Vindhya on the south. In as much as these two mountains have been mentioned as ‘boundaries,’ they are not included under ‘Āryāvarta’; from this people might be led to conclude that one should not inhabit these mountains. And with a view to (avoiding) this possibility, the Author adds the next verse.-(22)" [2]
      All in all, most Hindu-texts demarcate Bharat-varsha or Aryavarta to be the land-mass between "the Hiṁālaya on the north and the Vindhya on the south" and the two seas-oceans on both sides. So, if we take this definition, current day India is much larger than Arya-varta or Bharat-varsha of the olden times. Interestingly, most Indian states/territories (Maharashtra, Karnataka, Andhra, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andaman and Nicobar, Lakshwadeep and huge part of Odisha) which are beyond the Vindhya ranges was never considered to be a part of Arya-varta in ancient times, rather were called ‘mlecchadeśa’, 'andhra' et cetera. Mlecchas - a derogatory epithet - were non-Hindus just like Hindu-scholars have been calling Muslims 'mlecchas' since the advent of Islam in India.
      You can say that modern-day India is made-up of Aryavarta, mlecchadesh, andhra et cetera. If I were to reply to you in your language "India is a rump state that has been Sankrit-ising, Hindi-ising and Hindu-ising its diverse population."
      How hard is it to understand that in ancient times there was no concept of 'state' rather there were mandalas, feudatories, kingdoms that made-up the region politically, this region is called the "Indian subcontinent" today. Others (foreigners) called a part of this region (the Indian subcontinent), specifically speaking the Indus valley, as Hindush, Indika, Indos, Sindh (Hind) and from this came modern names like Hindustan, India et cetera which are today applied to an entire country.
      I hope this gives you a bit of more clarity - please feel free to ask me if you are still in doubt. Indians seriously need an education - they should be reading real history and not myths and lies propagated by the Hindu-revivalists, Hindutva-vadis, dharma-gurus, Pandits and pathetic politicians.

    Shah Mir was indeed from the Tajik Swati ruling family of Swat (a kingdom that encompassed tge old Gandhara area and was a Ghurid - Delhi Sultanate vassal). They were indigenous Tajik Dehqans of the Gandhara and Badakhshan region. They were also called "Gabri" indicating their original Zoroastrian background. After the Yusufzai Afghans invaded Swat with the assistance of Babur the Mughal in 1520, the Swatis were overthrown and displaced. They now call themselves Pathans and speak both Pashto and Hindko. They originally spoke Gabri (Zoroastrian Dari). They patronised and facilitated the prominent Muslim mystic of Kashmir, a Persian by the name of Shah-i- Hamadan. I myself am a Swati. Shah Mir himself was a Swati adventurer from Batkhela town in today's Malakand Division of KP in Pakistan. He supposedly went to Kashmir after his father saw a dream in which he saw his son as king of Kashmir. @ARP yes , the land won't go anywhere (unless the continents shift). We are not talking about land going anywhere but rather we ask for our right to self determination on this land we are native to irrespective of religion. The land is Kashmir and we are called Kashmiris. We speak kashmiri , follow Kashmiri traditions and culture and have roots in this place. India has been largely succesful in portraying our struggle as an "islamic" one and I have to accept we Kashmiris and also Pakistan is largely responsible for that. You might say that kashmiri civlization is an important part of Indian civilization but so are Nepal , Bangladesh , Pakistan. At some point , even south east Asia was an important part of Indian civilization. Are they not separate countries? You never know what will happen in the future. Maybe in the next 200 years we won't get what we want , maybe even in the next 1000 years we won't , maybe in the next 2000 years we won't. We probably won't even exist. And at some point , the Hindu indian civilization didn't even exist (before Proto-Indo-European from central Asia migrated to India) and was a completely different civilation all together. You never know what will happen. Anyways , I just want peace for everyone.

    • @scorps4471
      @scorps4471 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @ARP and to address your forced conversion thing , yes I agree that people forced to convert will eventually return to their roots.

    • @scorps4471
      @scorps4471 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @ARP ok , you should come to Kashmir and talk to the kashmiri Pandits here then. But I don't understand why you will only accept kashmiri Pandit demands? Religious preference? See how religion keeps coming up whenever you talk about Kashmir? This is the problem.
      I'm not asking for unification with Pakistan and the establishment of an islamic caliphate in Kashmir. I'm asking for an independent Kashmir with Kashmiris living in peace irrespective of religion. Infact not even an independent Kashmir. First , we just want a plebiscite with all Kashmiris irrespective of religion getting a chance to decide their own fate.
      When most kashmiri muslims asked for freedom from both India , a Hindu majority state and Pakistan , a Muslim majority state , kashmiri Pandits living in India find comfort in India's Hindu majority and want unification with India. So who really is biased here?
      And again , if you think kashmiri pandits don't want freedom , I wonder how much you really know about Kashmir from books and not news , social media , etc. Do you know who coined the term "Kashmir for Kashmiris"? It was Prem Nath bazaz , a kashmiri Pandit.
      He wrote many books on Kashmir , one of the best being "History of struggle for freedom in Kashmir".

The soldiers were sent to jungle to find him since Kashmiri Hindus had fled due to religious persecution. It was after his successful treatment that Zain ul Abideen became benevolent towards Kashmiri Brahmins and when he asked Shri Bhatta what does he want as a reward, he asked for resettlement of Kashmiri Brahmins. After the Partition of India, during October-November 1947 in the Jammu region of the princely state of Jammu and Kashmir, many Muslims were massacred and others driven away to West Punjab. The killings were carried out by the forces of Maharaja Hari Singh.
      It is after the pakistan invaded in 22 October 1947 and massacre happened because 80% troops (mainly muslims) of maharaja hari singh joined hands with Pakistani tribals. He therefore in order to revenge against muslims did massacre.
      (In Poonch uprising no massacre is noted by any historians).
      He was indeed a foolish ruler. 👍

    You should have mentioned that dogra actually purchased kashmir from British for 80 lakhs because British couldn't control it. Their rule was never legitimate. If by any chance anyone things their rule was legitimate than that makes the British occupation of India also legitimate. So since British rule was illegal this only implies that their sale of kashmir was also illegal.
