Listen to his advice! Using it, we saved a lot of time by not standing in line to get in, as well as the extremely useful advice on how to navigate the museum. Using the Porte des Lions entrance saved us waiting in line for over an hour, and we had entrance tickets for 9:30am. Instead, we used the entrance he mentioned and literally just walked into the museum. I will be telling all my friends who are planning to visit the Louvre to watch this video first! Thank you for your excellent advice.
I would recommend starting your Louvre visit when it first opens in the morning. We got some great photos at some of the most iconic works, like winged victory, that would not have been possible a couple of hours after opening.
Thank you Sir! That was super useful video. As you said, no queue at the Porte des Liones and easy way to Mona Lisa. Great guide for a first visit in Louvre.
An outstanding Louvre video. Great tips on using multiple entrances. A guide to walking the museum and just the right amount of art (in context) to satiate you. Merci!
Thank you. I have pre purchased tickets for opening on a Monday morning in March. It am pretty surw that covered all your suggeations. We will head your same path to try and be some of the first to the Mona Lisa to spend what we can there.
The information is very useful. I have been visited it many times I can confirm the information. I have not visited Louvre for a long time I am looking forward to visiting in this October.
It's the best guide. It's also good to know if the Porte des Lions is available to entered with the Paris museum pass and which entrance is available with this pass.
This is what the PMP website says: Since July 2019, access to the Louvre with the PARIS MUSEUM PASS can only be guaranteed by booking a time slot. Without this, admission can sometimes be a very lengthy or even impossible process during periods when there are a lot of visitors. To book a time slot: log on to ticketlouvre.fr, select "Visitors with a Paris Museum Pass", choose the day and time of your visit, and indicate your name and your PMP number. You can then download a QR code that will get you through the first checkpoint at the entrance to the Pyramide du Louvre (the only way to get in). You will then need to show your PMP at the various checkpoints in the museum, located under the Pyramid.
Bonjour ! This was an excellent video. I followed every tip and the plan. Ma famille et moi avons eu la première merveilleuse visite au Louvre. Merci beaucoup !
Bonjour and merci!! This is wonderfully helpful and informative. We will be going to Paris (and the Louvre) this summer and have debated over the use of the Porte des Lions...this helps my argument tremendously. 😉 We do have reservations for 9AM...do the doors open at 9AM or a little earlier or later?? Basically, should we stand outide the Porte des Lions until it opens or just get there a few minutes after 9... Keep up the great work!!
As far as I know, they would not open before the set hour. I would stand there until 9AM. This said, lines there or at the pyramid will really depend on the day you go. And I can't remember if I said it in the video, but the Porte des Lions is closed on Fridays...
I went to the Louvre during the 2nd week of April 2023. Unfortunately, (due to my trip being a "last minute decision") the online tickets were sold out so I had to queue. We waited an hour & a half to enter so, all in all, it wasn't too bad however, it was busy so I wouldn't advise standing in line in the summer when it gets really busy... & hot.
Oui, comme ça, pas besoin de faire la queue😂 En vrai, quand j'y suis retourné le mois dernier, j'ai découvert tellement de choses que je n'avais jamais vues...
Thanks for liking. Half of the footage is this year's and half last year. It is not mandatory to wear masks, as in the transport, but some people still prefer to.
This is a really good list. But I would probably change out The Wedding Feast of Cana or Psyche Revived for the Napoleon III Apartments... if you only get to go once, they shouldn't be missed.
The problem with these limited lists is that you always have many more things to put in and you have to make a choice. For example, concerning Leonardo Da Vinci, I prefer La Belle Ferronière to Mona Lisa, but could there be a Louvre Top 10 list without Mona Lisa?😀 Besides, I did not have footage of the Napoleon III apartments, because they were closed the last time I was there, as they sadly are quite often.
Very true about what to leave off... The Mona Lisa is overrated considering it's size and the line to see it - at least they have one now, it used to be a crush. (And there is one you can get up close to at Clos Lucé in Amboise)... but people would lose their minds if you left it off! We didn't even know about the Apartments our first time and stumbled onto them our second trip. I bet our next trip will have even more things we didn't realize were there!
The only book I could find is in French: www.amazon.fr/appartements-Napol%C3%A9on-III-Anne-Dion-Tenenbaum/dp/2842785509/ref=sr_1_1?__mk_fr_FR=%C3%85M%C3%85%C5%BD%C3%95%C3%91&crid=351N47YW2HGVV&keywords=appartement+napoleon+3&qid=1689230366&sprefix=appartements+napoleon+3%2Caps%2C69&sr=8-1 Maybe you can find it at the Louvre bookshop
Is it worth purchasing the audio guide for 5 euros a person? This is my first time visiting the louvre with my partner. Also, do you have the map for the 10 masterpieces in a pdf?
Whenever you don't know a museum, I'd recommend an audioguide, except if you're in a hurry. The Louvre's one is excellent! And, no, sorry, I don't have this in PDF format.
Half of the video was shot in March and half in October last year. Masks are not mandatory anymore, but, as in the metro, you still see a few people wearing masks in Paris.
This might be the best Visit Louvre video!👌👍💜💚💙 Tres Magnifique!🗼
Thank you so much!!!🙏
Agree, we went today, got there first thing. Fantastic to get a clear run at things.

Indeed the best time to visit...
Thank you for this... We'll be there in a couple months...

Great tour and a nice soundtrack to boot! Well done.

Thank you Sir! That was super useful video. As you said, no queue at the Porte des Liones and easy way to Mona Lisa. Great guide for a first visit in Louvre.

Thank you very much! I will use this guide next year when visiting The Louvre!
I hope you'll find it useful 🙂

Thank you so much.

Excellent, excellent, excellent video! Thank you so much for giving us such great information.
Thnaks for your feedback 🙏

Обязательно воспользуюсь советами, ещё ни разу не была в Лувре
Обязательно сделать раз в жизни! Даже лучше, чем

A lot of early July days are already sold out, so, yes, it's important to book as early as possible.
Thanks, awesome video and loved the tips too!!!!❤
Glad you enjoyed it!
I will have the new version of this video out today, because there is a big increase in price since yesterday.
On est presque sur une visite virtuelle ;)
Oui, comme ça, pas besoin de faire la queue😂

triple like. Great video
Triple thanks 🙏🙏🙏

Nice painting 🖌️
Thanks for this video. Is the footage recent? Wondering if masks are being currently required in the museum.
Thanks for liking. Half of the footage is this year's and half last year. It is not mandatory to wear masks, as in the transport, but some people still prefer to.
Bonjour Monsieur. Wow. Very Informative video. Are masks required? I see many people in your video wearing them. Merci.
No, masks are not mandatory anymore.
So kids under 18 is free, but do they still require a ticket for entry from the Carousel entrance?
Yes. It's available on the Internet, time stamped, at 0€.
Excellent vid. Forgot to show the Lamassu of the Assyrian empire
Thanks!
So many different things to see at the Louvre...
maybe you can make a video about museum pass and how to use it and booking online using museum pass for louvre , versailles , orsay etc
Yes, this is definitely a video that I'll make before end of year.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you!🙏

I thought the Porte des Lions was just for groups ? Is first thing Sunday morning a good time ?
The entrance dedicated to groups is in Passage Richelieu. Yes, going early is an excellent choice.
Napoleon III Apartments....can a quality guide book be purchased there?
The only book I could find is in French: www.amazon.fr/appartements-Napol%C3%A9on-III-Anne-Dion-Tenenbaum/dp/2842785509/ref=sr_1_1?__mk_fr_FR=%C3%85M%C3%85%C5%BD%C3%95%C3%91&crid=351N47YW2HGVV&keywords=appartement+napoleon+3&qid=1689230366&sprefix=appartements+napoleon+3%2Caps%2C69&sr=8-1
Maybe you can find it at the Louvre bookshop
How long in advance i can bock the Tickets? I cant reservate for next April atm?
You can only reserve up to the end of the following month.

Great video, thanks. We are coming in July. Why are people wearing masks, is this old footage.
July has been ridiculously hot in Paris lately. I would plan on entering through Carrousel to avoid having to stand in the sun.
Half of the video was shot in March and half in October last year. Masks are not mandatory anymore, but, as in the metro, you still see a few people wearing masks in Paris.
Good suggestion, though you can use the Carrousel entrance only if you have a pre-booked ticket.
