We have the 17B also. The kitchen window 🪟 not opening is something we would like that, too. I guess they (RV manufacturing) went with the residential codes about window/cooktops. Due to the possibility of breeze blowing out flames and causing hazard/death.
That’s a great point. I didn’t think of that.
$10,000 is doable brand new. It should be less than $11,800 with tax/title/license. Need to make sure they remove any weird added “fees”. I’d buy a smaller higher quality trailer that is lighter and can be towed by average cross over 4 cylinder. Windows will open. You can get propane heating. A little freezer. Better quality finishes. Much better quality materials on the outside.

I totally regret my decision to buy my 2021 Coleman Lantern 17B. Do not buy one. Here's why: No power outlets on the entire dinette side. Only one opening window. Worst quality construction I've ever seen in 60 years with split and deformed 2x2s used throughout. Sloppy leaky caulking throughout. Loud and leaking side mounted air conditioner with poorly designed humidity drain. Tons of wasted space due to poor design/layout. Fridge shelves cannot be changed due to proximity to rear wall. Stabilizers bent on all 7 campers of this model I've seen. Heater/fireplace is a huge waste of space and will be turned on by mistake often(even by a passing dog). Roof vent cover that opens when traveling due to poorly aligned retaining clip. No roof vent fan. Useless wineguard antenna requires additional subscription fee. Odd furion solar connector will probably require an adapter. Rear bumper too small to fit sewer hose inside. Mattresses worse than sleeping on cardboard. Freezer is useless but needs defrosting frequently. Front over bed shelf will warp if any weight is kept on it. Ceiling lights become tricky to get push button working. Awning hits front door. Awning is too heavy for this camper and is impossible to close correctly with one person. Main door stop will bend and cause damage to door. If you're over 5 ft 8 inches tall you won't be able to stand in the shower. Even for a budget camper this is a complete rip off. On the plus side, I have no complaints about the microwave, propane stove, or water heater. Everything else is junk that will last about as long as the 3 year warranty if you're lucky. Coleman should revoke their brand usage on this Dutchmen garbage.
Sorry to hear about your troubles! We had zero issues with ours. The lack of outlets was annoying but that’s something you could always research prior to buying. They’re a very popular camper, we see them all
Over the place. But I can certainly understand they’re not for everyone. When we bought ours I did a full inspection and recaulked and sealed everything needed. Hope you find a unit that works better for you .

Oh wow! It’s hardly worth the 12k we paid lol they’re pretty junky. But just about every rv is unless you’re loaded and can afford a 300,000+ rv. Then they’re made with better quality (usually) lol

@@ThatNomadicCouple Yeah they have it on sale marked down from $17,000, if I'm reading it right :) Its just insane to me its nearly doubled in price! I wanted one, but knowing I'm paying nearly twice what someone did two years ago really discourages me :( Sadly, there aren't any other options, so I'm stuck

How is it holding up so far? I’m on the waiting list at Camping World, and it should be in this November! I’m wanting to live in it as well, as the cheapest apartments I’ve seen is $700 a month, which is ridiculous. I probably need to keep a mini space heater in the bathroom during winter time lol.
We only kept it for a month and then sold it. We decided to build out a shuttle bus that we now live in in the road full time 😊
I am 6 ft tall I can fit in the bunk easily I can take a shower in the 17b no problem and there's definitely plenty of headroom in the camper
I’m not sure how you fit in the shower no problem. I’m 5’4 and my head just about touches the ceiling, may have an inch or two of room. And literally everyone on the 17b Facebook pages say their tall husbands don’t fit in the shower. You must be a very short 6ft LOL

Lots ok luck with your trip. You may want to put better tires on before that trip. I recommend Goodyear endurance tires. The stock tires are designed to get your rv from the manufacture to the dealer and that’s about it.
