I am considering of buying this because of the price point and from listening to your bad experience of this rig, i think it'll be worth it because I'll be using it for stationary purposes.
The general maintenance isn't terrible, if by stationary purposes you mean living in for a period of time you will probably put more wear and tear on it than we did but the camper is definitely a bargain compared to others.
You don’t need to drop the tank. You can buy a standard flange from Home Depot, Lowes, etc…glue the flange to a 3 inch PVC pipe that is then seeded into a rubber gasket that’s attached to the black tank. You should be able to pull it right out, the flange that is that’s attached to the PVC pipe. Or…it could be screen-threaded to the tank. If it has give, it’s threaded rubber gasket.
Nice work. This camper doesnt really need a full winterize. I just set my compressor to 30psi and blow out all the lines. I put a little bleach in the water tank. Add some antifreeze to the toilet. I dont add to sink and shower as I dont believe there are P or U traps.
Just watched your vid, as a long term RV'er. Replace that toilet with a ceramic toilet for RV's. It will end your problems, believe me, best thing I ever did for the wife.
Trust me. Buy the ceramic bowl toilet and do it yourself. It will be stable. Also, you don't need to drop the black tank for any of that. Ours had the same problem, we have a 2019 Springdale 260bh. The toilet was actually leaking from under it. We though originally it was a connection...NOPE...cracked flange at the bottom. Hubby took it out. We replaced with a higher grade toilet and it hasn't rocked or leaked since. Hubby is your size and has used it a few times with zero issues.
I bought mine from camping world too ….. I am not happy with them at all…. Luckily I didn’t have your problems … and I have been living in mine full time for three years now…..

Then they told me it would be covered by warranty and said they can do it the same day. They then bought the wrong part and did a make shift repair when they realized the repair was bigger than they can handle in a day. Then they called me and said the warranty repair was denied so I was left scared wondering if they were going to charge me for a days work to not have my camper fixed plus I paid for all the gas to get to camping world an hour and a half away
I’m 60 years old and just bought a 2024 Coleman 17B from Camping World. I love the rig for the price. A few minor problems like the door lock for example. My first RV! 🤗 My only rule is no popping in the camper. I bought a portable toilet because l don’t want to deal with the “Black Tank” 😊
Handyman here just wanted to coment that honestly the metal repair flange is stronger then the pvc original one, and chances are if they replaced the old one, it would break before the metal one lol id just let that roll

FYI, that CW 10,995 is you driving to Indiana to pick it up as-is with no safety walk through, no fixes. You just get what you get. Hopefully knowing that gives you a little less buyers remorse about paying more than that. Also, for reference, our local CW matched that 10,995 and it was STILL almost 16K OTD due to fees. That was a month ago.
P.s. we went with a Gulf Stream Ameri-Lite 177bh so we could buy from someone other than CW after reading horror stories. It's essentially the same camper, so new Subscriber here for all your Coleman 17b updates! 👋
Honestly they are all built very quickly, they are all pretty cheap, but if you are handy I don't think there is much to worry about that cant be bandaged as you go and have fun
They changed manufacturers for the 2025 model. Brought back the furnace and have a tankless water heater along with direct solar bypass for your electrical.
17r does not have the bunks instead it's a larger bathroom I believe. My advice is to check everything IE all the seals, make them show you the hot water working, inspect the roof with a ladder to make sure they cover all the bolts, screws, and gaps, make sure they give you the stuff thats supposed to cone with the camper or the Bluetooth speaker, make sure the toilet is secured, pretty sure my flange was broken when I got it
A lot of that isn't quality "control", more engineering and/or quality (of materials, etc.) to get that camper to its price point. That said, what kind of road conditions where you dragging that through? Asking as obviously makes a difference, and didn't notice it was mentioned.
I am not sure, id have to have it out of my storage lot to take a measurement. We won't be using it til this weekend and if I remember I'll look but the lantern Facebook groups are very helpful
I'm not sure what the best answer is because most campers are built as quickly and cheaply as possible to save cost. It all has to do with your comfort level as a owner as to what you are willing to deal with

Is the awning useless? I have a 19 ft pop up camper with a 12ft awning and the 17b awning looks tiny compared. Ours is barely big enough to make a difference and I think it might be a deal breaker for me.
Cool, that helps me feel better about it. I have an easy up that I use sometimes so maybe I'll just use that if I need too. And being power is a huge plus, ours is manual set up and I hate it lol.
What do the power inverter power while in 12V? I just bough one and if the awning and water pump are 110v, that's the only thing that works with the power inverter. The fridge is 12v so that works and lights. Other than that no microwave, a/c and no outlets. So fot what is the inverter for?
I bought a 2021 pioneer DS320 from camping world in Greenville and they screwed me. I wish I did my research on camper before buying. they over price them.
AC works great in line however the drip tray eventually corrodes and I had to un plug the drains in the bottom of the AC so they drain smoothly out of the camper. I have a vid coming up of me modifying my drip tray with aluminum flashing to ensure there are no more rust marks on my camper

Bought a 2023 17 r last year. Left N.C. and went cross country. The only camping world that was decent with warranty was in Cheyenne Wyoming. They make a special drill bit to remove the flange. It will not deal with camping world after the warranty. Good luck . We do like our unit but not camping world
I currently bought a 2023 and it’s leaking out the bright rear end. Does anybody have any idea what is causing this leak? I noticed seepage coming from underneath the bed area and towards the door but when you flip up the bed cubby area, there’s no water there so I cannot figure out where the leak is. Is it at where the hose goes into the RV? Is it leaking somewhere there or is it the pump or is it the freshwater tank, can someone help me with this?
@@bobbieabbott if the pipes are setup to draw suction for winterization at the pump, perhaps when you hookup your city connection and pressurize it by turning it on, it is maybe leaking by the pump out the winterization hose behind the panel in the cubby under the bed juet under your ac unit

Don't sell them. They are GARBAGE! And try being HONEST when you do try and sell them. They are a very low end, cheaply made product that will lose its value by 3x when you use it for a year.
We have a brand new Coleman Lite 2755BH. The toilet was installed incorrectly when the camper was built. The hole for the plumbing was cut too close to the wall so they couldn't install the toilet the way it should be, because of this they installed it facing the sink and the lid wouldn't go all the way up. You have to sit doubled over. We returned it to CW and were told that Dutchman won't fix it because it's not malfunctioning. ITS BRAND NEW and we can't use the toilet properly but they are OK with that. The Wingard 360+ on the roof is just a bubble, they never put the antenna in it and they aren't replacing it. The tire was flat when we bought it. CW assured us it was fine and put air in it. A week later it's flat again and they won't replace it. CW is awful but so is #Dutchman @dutchmenrvcompany8749

Coleman lantern 17b only sold at camping world. My wife and i are looking into buying travel trailer for us and our two kiddos.
We like it but there is a reason it's the cheapest camper available for the number you can sleep. Stuff is built quickly and cheap

It is tiny, but it's not useless. We use it every time, but I do also use 2 cheap tailgate tents setup on either side to extend our shade

ITS BRAND NEW and we can't use the toilet properly but they are OK with that. The Wingard 360+ on the roof is just a bubble, they never put the antenna in it and they aren't replacing it. The tire was flat when we bought it. CW assured us it was fine and put air in it. A week later it's flat again and they won't replace it. CW is awful but so is #Dutchman @dutchmenrvcompany8749

I would never use a toilet in a camper,,, i plan-on using a Compost toilet with chemical bags ,,,, no sewage should be in the campers.
Best of luck with that, there is nothing wrong with a toilet in a camper, as long as you dump it down and flush the tank when you are done
Camera install will take 5 min assuming its wired. Never buy anything from camping world

I don't believe so, that is a popular modification I plan on doing myself

@@countryboy602 yeah this camper is pretty bare bones unfortunately. But they're are F of cheap mods people do to make them better. My next project is a back up camera
