I like them in general, but i find it is very board dependent. If your appointment has a lot of air (wasps), or chaf, they are amazing if you drop shields, but for bigger units there are better picks.
TBH Mustangs do the same job with chaf clear and also function as secondary chaf themselves. You want your unit drop to give your opponent a clear threat they have to answer and right now Typhons just don't do that as well as other units.

Why do people hate typhoons so much, handles chaff and air, can shield and with equipment melt through giants, and yet nobody takes them.
Their damage versus medium units and bigger is awful. Typhoons taking wraith out is painfully slow. They need a lot of investment.
