Appreciate this video, Mike, I'm looking to buy a VQ Race. Have found one which I'm going to visit this week. Will be my first rigid, but I'm assured I will find it easy to fly. Just moved from the Big Smoke (London) to the Somerset countryside, so lots of hills to fly from plus a fairly nearby tow group.
Thanks. Congratulations! You will love it. They are absolutely easy to fly, no more getting bullied in thermals. Light pitch pressure and no more being exhausted at the end of a long flight. The Race (full carbon adjustable keel) really smooths out rough air. Looking forward to hear your thoughts when you get some time on it. Let me know if you have any questions.
Hahahahaha, a bad day at Tekoa WA, is better than a good day in Western ND...... Except if you had a tow rig handy, Get launch here , you can take a cloud street to Minnesota.
@@MikeBomstad Yes No public access to anything here with Lunchable hills. But there are a lot of straight dirt roads. or maybe Sun Hagen. Can't wait to quit ND. No Place like home! Now if I can only find a pair of ruby red slippers !
@DM-MCMLVI $14,100 At that price it is difficult to hang on to them both. I'm sure I'll be happy with the VR. They both just have a different feeling in the air. A little bit different set up as well.
Looked like a great flight Mike, nicely done.
Thanks! It was fun
I always like your commentary. Hope you have a magic summer!
Thanks, glad to hear you enjoyed. I was testing out some new microphone cover seem to work well.
Really looking forward to this summer fingers crossed

I bet! You gotta have a tow rig there! Otherwise, back to the old days and jump off the garage roof? 😉

@@skyboys9814 man that has to be tough! (Sounds great for a winch though)
X-mas is coming.... you know what to ask for!!!
@@MikeBomstad Yes , Im Asking XRP goes to the moon! Patience Is Key.
Fingers crossed!
Gotta laugh though, by how disappointed you were to get up to cloudbase repeatedly!
Ha! I know. I really was hoping / wanting an XC flight. Always happy at the end of the day to have stayed up. Forecast looked so good though .... 😉
Selling the VQ???
I am, Getting another VR, had an opportunity. It will be a great comparison. VQ has a better roll rate.... so this will be interesting
@@MikeBomstad That will be interesting to see. Rigids are hard to find on the US market nowadays.
@DM-MCMLVI yes they are. And a new one is so expensive. But they are so amazing in the air. Worth every penny
@@MikeBomstad Can't wait to see it in the air, you must be excited! Maybe hang onto the VQ until you know for sure? What are you asking for it?
