SOUTH PARK - Here Comes The Neighborhood [S5, E11] REACTION
#cartman #southpark #comedycentral #compilation
In the episode, a class war ensues in South Park when it becomes a hot spot for rich celebrities, all of whom are African-American. Meanwhile, Token feels rejected by his friends and goes to live with lions. - บันเทิง
That grading system is just a very simplified one that some teachers use at their own discretion. "Check" means you're done the work at a basic and acceptable level, 'check minus' means you've done it poorly and 'check plus' means you've done well.
There's also plus, and minus. That's like A and F. It's only in early grades
@@revinevan87 Never heard of that, but the check plus/ check minus is pretty common at lower grade levels.
@@toaster4693 that's my point. I remember it from 1st grade.
Maybe one of the best SP endings. That punchline with Mr. Garrison at the end is just.. * chef's kiss *
agree, I cannot imagine someone doing something like that on Comedy Central these days
@@Tolyenot true, they took it easy further later on.
Check out "With apologies to Jesse Jackson" Season 11 Episode 1.
Although it is a difficult one to edit for reactors.
@@Tolyein the dvd commentary, Trey Parker said the beginning of the next episode was gonna start with Mr garrison just saying “gers”. But they decided against it.
"T...T...t-time to leave?"
That gets me every time. Lmao.
Every T-time..??
I love Will Smith and Snoop Dogg's "real" voices.
Check plus and check minus are generally seen with childrens grades. Whereas older classes have the normal system of A through F
As an American teacher, this isn't a grading system I am familiar with, however, the half-assed school projects are not exaggerated. When I taught college I once assigned a ten-page paper to my students and one student turned in ten pages with one giant letter on each page.
That's on you for assigning a 10 page paper to people trying to juggle work, school, living on their own, taxes and a newly found sex life. 😂 Ain't nobody got time for that, fck these new kids for having Chat GPT as a tool.
Honestly I'd give an A for that one
I was tempted; don't doubt that.
The joke of mistaking Klansman for ghost goes even deeper. Several shows make fun of this similarity in appearance, but the fact is that this was literally the Klans intention. When they were terrorizing newly freed slaves, they were masquerading as dead Confederate soldiers coming back to avenge themselves against the ones they considered responsible for their deaths. It also played on a common stereotype that black people were supposedly particularly superstitious and afraid of ghosts than others. That aspect definitely comes through and the end. All of the richers start talking in a way that was the stereotypical way that black actors would respond to ghosts and such in old movies.
Well that superstitious belief comes from black people being originally from Africa genetically, and the western powers would see Africans do rituals and other sorts of magic. This is despite the fact that during that time (1800-1900s), Americans and Europeans were obsessed with the occult and trying to reconnect with their loved ones through any means.
My school definitely used check plus, check, and check minus, instead of letter grades for younger kids. Those were the only three grades. Check plus being like an A, check being like a C, and check minus being like an F. It changed to the usual US grading system when I was about 8.
Oh, wow, and I actually thought that the creators of South Park came up with that, haha. Thank you!
Yeah I remember that grading system too up until 3rd or 4th grade, and I figured that it still might exist in some capacity but apparently not much anymore.
@Tolye before I went to 3rd grade, my school system used a lettering grade system, but it wasn't in alphabetical order, it was similar to Harry Potter's OWL's, where the letter represents the quality. Ours was as follows:
O - Outstanding
S - Satisfactory
P - Progress shown
N - Needs Improvement
U - Unsatisfactory
American subscriber here. We typically get graded A, B, C, D, F but sometimes in lower schooling, they use ✅+, ✅, ✅-, which functions as A, C, or F.
I absolutely LOVE that you do most of the episodes, and pause it when you have something to say. Most reactors talk through episodes, miss shit, not show the funniest parts, and it kills it.
The check system was used in younger elementary grades when I was a kid with check plus being the best on assignments. For tests and quizzes, the grading scale from 1st to 3rd grade was E for excellent, S for satisfactory, U for unsatisfactory, and I for incomplete. From what I remember, 4th grade was when I was graded A,B,C,D, and F all the way through high school.
In elementary school grades don’t actually matter that much so teachers can do their grading system however they like to
Lobster used to be so plentiful that they were called the cockroaches of the sea and fed to slaves in early America. Overfishing and demand made them less common and more expensive.
Just one more American voice confirming yes we had the check / plus / minus system at very young age, it’s a real thing
Great reaction. Another classic episode is Season 7 Episode 7 "Red Man's Greed." It has some parallels to what happened with Covid the past couple of years.
Thank you very much, I will certainly have a look!
I remember watching this episode when it premiered in 2001 and thinking how high-tech DVD was. My parents were well-paid middle-class professionals (maybe earning about half as much as Tolkien's parents are said to in this episode) but even we didn't own one. The next year they finally got cheap enough that we got one. It was such a step up. I feel like VHS tapes disappeared almost overnight from most stores, like there was a critical point where everyone just switched over en masse.
I dunno if anything else in my life has ever felt like that. Other than maybe people adopting smartphones.
Also I feel like Tolkien's family has gotten richer as the show has gone on. In 2001 they were just a very standard upper middle-class family. But by the 2010s, it feels like the show had moved them up to being independently wealthy.
What's the difference between a drug dealer and a prostitute? A prostitute can wash their crack and resell it.
mah man, you're a savage 🤣
Wait, we're supposed to wash it?! 😮
@@theevilascotcompany9255 Thank God for bidets (or a hungry dog) - either will get you clean as a whistle, but one leaves you smelling like beef.
First video I’ve seen of yours but loved it! New subscriber now
Thank you, my friend, new reactions are on their way!
A lobster tail tastes like lobster
thank you, rich man!!
@@Tolye I had lobster too as well, but it's not always expensive, it depends where you get it from and how it's cooked as well.
You earned my sub. And on that note I'll recommend my all time favorite episode of South Park - Season 8, Episode 14: Woodland Critter Christmas.
Bro your fav episode was written in like 2 days 😂
As an American I've never heard of that check system either, only the ABCDF
Teachers and school systems sort of do whatever the heck they want in the early grades. I remember my 1st grade classes were check or check minus, or like Excels/Satisfactory/Needs Improvement, i didnt get ABCDF until 2nd or 3rd grade
@@Jmerziobut this is fourth grade
This kind of grading is usually used for formative assessment, so students can identify their weaker abilities and teachers can simultaneously give them support. They can also be used for cumulative marks (eg: 4 x checks = you get the max. mark) and extra score/mark increasers for tests. As a kid, I remember (translated from my L1) getting VG (very good) or Insufficient during regular lessons apart from the typical summative tests with proper grading.
That’s how they grade stuff in the Czech Republic!
1:11 You need to watch “Scott Tenorman Must Die” Season 5 Episode 4. It’s not just a reference, but this is considered one of the top 10 must watch South Park episodes. I’m American and it’s normally a A through F scale, at least for me it was.
Thank you! I think we will check it out this week!
Krazy kripples is a good one
Thank you! I will put it on my list, haha
My school system has always used letters for grading. But Before I went to 3rd grade, the used a lettered grading system, but it wasn't in alphabetical order; it was similar to Harry Potter's O.W.L.'s, where the letter represents the quality. Ours was as follows:

The check system is a different, but similar, version to other elementary school grades. Some use three letters (if it's turned in and completed) plus an incomplete, this just uses checks as an all encompassing thing with three tiers. Did it, but bad, did it, but average, did it, but above average.
Trying to remember what my elementary school specifically did. I remember an E and an S, but I'm not sure what was signifying what.
No worries your french is 👌🏻as your reactions
i can't wait for your reaction to "scott tenorman must die"
Thank you, didn't expect my French to be complimented today! 😅
But surely, I will have a look at the Tenorman episode :)
The funny thing is this is exactly how a lot of people feel about rich people in America these days. Open resentment.
Wait a second… Tokens last name used to be Williams 🤯🥴 I’ve been watching South Park since I was 6 (now I’m 28) and I’m just now realizing this 😂🤦🏾♂️
Loving your laugh LMAO
😅infecting people with laughter is the best thing
Loved this episode 😂😂
it's definitely a classic 😅
Traditional grading is A, B, C, D, F
I never had that check system
Thank you! So I just ended up getting trolled by South Park creators, haha
As a royal idiot American from the sort of great northwest region of the US, I'll tell you how our grading system works. Let me know how accurate this is.
A: 90-100%
B: 80-89%
C: 70-79%
D: 60-69%
F: 60% or less
Id live to recommend a season 10 episode make love not warcraft its a masterpiece of an episode and was even nominated for a emmy befor
I’m new to the channel. Where are you from?
Yay my favorite episode.
How did you know what cartman can do to one's parents?
I know a lot of South Park references. I think I might've watched some compilations a couple of years ago or some friends of mine just told me some elements of the plot. But, in general, I never got to fully watch some episodes.
@@Tolyei really appreciate the answer ☺️ i like your style

I would like to know what episodes you have seen? so I can recommend others.
You are my content dealer 😅
Thank you very much for the suggestions!
I have seen some of the first seasons of South Park a while ago, but I did forget some of the plots, so it feels a bit like rediscovering the show, haha.
Check = "зачёт".
неа, у них там ещё check-plus, check-minus.
