WoW no way ?? LoL I do as well..love that thing LP -JHS 66 Boost (Treble Booster) 1482 is my go to combo I had an 84 back in the day and really missed it so grabbed one when it dropped to 199 from 249....sight unseen..just knew JA was top shelf Very Cool Happy Holidays bro
@@paulcowart3174 I actually just sold my Twin 12 pedal. It is great but I was using it mostly as a clean boosted and I rarely have a use for the fuzz tone it gets when you push it. Again great pedal I just have others that I use on the cleaner side and they take up less real estate and are less expensive.
@@gregsteffey1266 Gotcha....kind of an impulse purchase but on my old Fender Tonemaster when I do use a 100 watt amp I have been running an Xotic EP boost in the clean channel loop barely cranked and it gives a great edge of break up clean tone The clean channel is Showman clean so surf rock clean So was thinking maybe that 1484 rhythm tone with more EQ than just the EP boost So that was my line of thinking I do have a Silvertone 1482 1-12 combo that's my go to grab n go combo Not exactly sure if the 1484 pedal would be suitable for a Silvertone amp but will try it But would work on a few others like my old JCM800 that the hot input is too fizzy for my taste but in the low input might sound pretty interesting w the pedal Anyways thanks for the reply and Happy Holidays
Had a Broadcast AP on order, but saw this demo and it does exactly what I wanted, and has more control. Already changed the order and I'm stoked to get this one! Gonna sound great boosted by the protein, and into my TMSR. Great Demo! best tones I've heard out of it so far!
Really nice review video being able to watch you make real-time adjustments picture-in-picture. I’m an old school Chicago blues player, perform mostly solo, always clean thru vintage Fender amps dialed in the sweet spot, and I’ve been looking for something (a pedal?) that adds that old “amp falling apart” edge without that characteristic nasally Tubescreamer tone-which I really don’t like for what I do. This Jackson-Silvertone pedal gets so many rave reviews I might have to invest in one. Thank you, brother, for the tasty demo.
I remember getting the Sears & Roebuck catalog (wish book) with Silvertone brand guitars and amps, as well as Montgomery Ward catalog with Airline guitars. You could even order motorcycles through the catalogs. Cool looking pedal.
Very cool pedal! Saw it come up in my news feed and the design alone got me interested. Hearing you jam on it put it on the wish list. Thanks for the great video.
Buddy, just coming back a year later to say that this pedal is still impressing me. It's on my big board being boosted by a Wampler Moxie in It's flat EQ and Mosfet mode as a harder overdrive. With the Revv Tilt as the light overdrive. Still enjoying watching videos about the pedal such as this one. Good stuff!
I am impressed as well. At 15:40 when he put in full blown fuzz world, I hit the pause button and purchased the pedal. I am mostly interested in the mid-gain tones, but I feel like I just got a free fuzz pedal along with it (which is something I don't currently have on the pedal board).
When I saw the price drop from 250 to 199 I grabbed it up I had the 1484 in the 90's but regrettably had to sell in 08 My LP and that amp were straight up a pedal killer No pedal could make it sound better so none used So I will find a use for it... probably with my super clean rhythm channel of my old CS Tonemaster Fortunately I still have a 1482 combo which is my main grab and go amp 1482 and my Treble Booster Bam good to go Sounds killer so justified purchase Very cool Buddy Happy Holiday's.....PS - Maybe this is the fuzz box I've been searching for Ha
I have the amp/cab with the original speakers and tubes as well and it does not have any 'gain' pot nor does it resemble a Big Muff type of sound. The real thing is a clean to crank amp with very smooth and natural breakup with lots of sustain on the chords, notes within the chord and lead notes themselves. Very spanky and with quick response, not sputtery or or transistor sounding like this pedal.
Yeah I had one and pretty sure that's the extreme capabilities of that amp My favorite amp of all time because I'm a 6L6 guy Gorgeous tone no pedals needed on mine
The gain on the pedal represents the volume control on the amp, which gets dirtier as you increase it, and the Master on the pedal has been added so you can set the volume of the pedal.
F'in finally! For all the plexi like pedals, tweed like pedals and similar, this amp is a category of its own. Question - can this be used as an actual standalone preamp plugged into power amp / eff. loop return on another amp?
I don't see why not. I just ordered it, so I will try both FX loop and in front. Who knows, maybe I'll even be motivated to throw a sample on TH-cam. I'm with you on the tweed/plexi pedal overload, which is kind of silly given how many builders do clones of those amps these days. Silvertone amps, on the other hand, are not so common without buying an original. I've wanted a 1484, but I don't have space or money for another amp!
I have one of these enroute I’m pretty excited for it! I really enjoyed the demo, especially your phrasing, also you may be nearly as big a nerd as me😂
Nice review, man, showing the tonal range. Great playing too. Hats off. I have a 68 Reverb and wonder if I could get these tones simply by driving the amp with a Microamp - what do you think?
Thank you so much for the ballsy, just go for it, full on playing while demoing this pedal! Other reviews I've seen show guys playing thin, wimpy guitars, barely touching the strings! ;-( This pedal deserves better and you delivered, my man! Well done! ;p)
Thinking about getting one of these, but in a local store there is a real Silvertone 1474 twin twelve (not 1484) in excellent condition, fully working reverb and trem and even has the original foot switch for 900 bucks. Kinda want to save up and try the real deal (i know it’s a different model. Lol), but for 250 bucks and in pedal format I might just try the pedal instead. Sounds phenomenal
The trolls on TheGearPage are already saying how the pedal is bad because Buddy and everyone else who actually owns it is raving about it 😂 Can't say we didn't already know since they live in an alternate reality
Ha! 😂 I really can’t please everybody. My reviews are as honest as can be. If I don’t like the pedal I won’t review it. Simple. I’ve already sent back MANY pedals to manufactures and informed them I wouldn’t be the right guy for the demo. Whether it’s something I don’t gel with or something I don’t like. This one however is a keeper!
People still read “comments” from the Gear Page? Are they the same people who write OpEd pieces on Facebook? Wait…Facebook is still a thing? 🤦🏽♂️ next thing you know, someone is going to trash this pedal on MySpace…🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️
two questions buddy.... do you remember your amp settings on your super sonic? will this pedal make your board and if so how will you use it? always enjoy the videos!!
I have the Super Sonic setting tattooed on me. Volume at 3 Treble between 6 and 7 Bass between 6 and 7. This will 100% end up on my next pedalboard build and I will personally be putting it last in thee chain but I have already seen many people putting it in the front and in the middle. Last for me because I want to keep the gain around 1 oclock and use it as a tone shaper before hitting the amp

Thank you!!! ❤️
What is that bridge pickup?!?!!?! Holy crap. That tone at 6:36 is a dream!

Great video! Have an original 1484, and that thing nailed it. Subcribed! great content.
Thanks for the sub and welcome aboard!
Yeah I had one and it's one of my main "got always" for sure The 1482's are still out there 6V6 tho instead of the great 6L6's

YES! Was thinking of buying the pedal, now I am :)
That version of 7 Nation Army. I'd buy it. So good.
If this video had been out yesterday…
Sounds so good that I’m not even gonna wait until Black Friday 😂
Man I had it ready 😅 I just needed Mr. Jackson’s permission to post it
I am curious what pickups are in the Strat you used in this video?
Sounds great, fantastic playing!]
Glad you enjoy it!
Look, we hear with our eyes. You can fight it, but it’s a fact. And this pedal just looks so tasty to the ears-
Great no nonsense review...awesome playing...and that I1484 sure does sound sweet!!
Seriously Great playing man !!!
Thank you!

Where do you place it on the pedal chain ?

pedals never quite the same as an amp, get the amp
Probably nothing beats the amp but if you gig a lot, it might be less risky to use the pedal
@leonkennedy74 im fine with that though. I prefer clean tones personally
