Now , Destiny will say he don't recommend his actions to others, but my question is does that make his actions right? If a murderer kills someone and doesn't advice others not to do it, Does that make his actions ok? Isn't that hypocrisy?

      I don't know, we genuinely might need to invoke the 14th amendment this time, which would be *significant*. Republicans legitimately have nothing left to lose, so from their perspective I can see it be "We either do significant damage to the economy under a Democrat President, and force him to invoke the 14th, or we get a bunch of absurd demands met, win win for us Rs."

    • @johnarbuckle2619
      @johnarbuckle2619 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      @Mike No, that's not what the debt ceiling is.
      The budget was already approved by Congress, and the executive is obligated by law to spend on those programs. If the money raised by taxes (which are also set by Congress) doesn't cover the expenses, then the executive is forced to borrow money to bridge the difference.
      The debt ceiling is a stupid restriction that forces the executive to beg Congress to give them the money they were obligated to spend in the first place. It's a dangerous charade that risks the US defaulting on its debt and causing worldwide financial distress.

    The smarter move would of been for DeSantis to coast til 2028 and pass this one up. Because if he loses and he probably will, I think it hurts him down the road. I think everyone who ran against Trump in 2016 destroyed any chance they had of running again. He obliterated the other Republicans.

For instance if you ask conservatives about trans people and them transitioning they really dont care....as long as theyre an adult, the issue arises when its minors which is a pretty reasonable take some conservatives argue at what point that is some say 25 because thats when the brain is fully developed others argue that if theyre old enough to vote (18) theyre old enough to make that choice. Theres plenty of nuance to this discussion its not merely "hate".

    • @AriaTheDisciple
      @AriaTheDisciple ปีที่แล้ว

      @@thrash208 I guess the main problem stems from the same thing that is happening to what the right sees of the left and vice versa. On one hand you have this reasonable conservative as you said but it is clouded by the big voices such as Matt Walsh who has much harsher stances on trans people (pretty fucked opinions imo) and other large media figures. That and social media videos of conservatives or people on the right going around Target recording themselves destroying pride stuff in the store etc etc. The left has some extreme voices too and the right chooses them to focus on because they (as IRI pointed out) rise to the top of the heap and unfortunately their dogshit opinions come with them. So in the end it what essentially is taking place a lot of the time is some kind of abstracted proxy war of ideas or actions that perpetually fuel each other, we need to dismantle this horrible way of approaching politics and drown these voices out so we can finally get somewhere together. I say "we" as humans because thank god I am not living in America.

    I just realized why when i started to get interested in American politics the right was so compelling to me.
    I come from Italy, my country has been in political chaos since the 70s, when had been a democracy for a little less than thirty years.
    the 70s and 80s were black and red terrorism (black = right-wing, red= left wing) with bombings and political and anti-mafia judges/activists assassinations. The 90s and 00s were Berlusconi's era = corruption, hyper-capitalism, Milan. Then years of technical governments, then a comedian creates a political party (the 5 stars movement), we had 13 years of left-wing govs, covid, and now right-wing with Meloni.
    There is always chaos, corruption, mafia+church involvement; no structure.
    When I look at American politics one side has little to no shape while the other is proud of the flag, the anthem, the constitution, and the foundation of the country, they are patriotic and have an identity: Freedom and 'Merica.
    Coming from a country like mine, seeing structure and solidity is veeery appealing.

    I was pissed when I read the headlines about this “don’t say gay” bill because a lot of people that I love could be hurt by this.
    Then I read the bill word for word, and it actually says that as part of an instructed curriculum you can’t teach kids under 2nd grade about sexuality. It actually says nothing about gay/straight except where it makes the distinction that it doesn’t matter what type of sexuality just that you don’t teach them about sex under that grade.
    Seemed pretty reasonable to me, and every one of my friends/fam from the LGBT community feel the same. All of their friends as well.
    I try to look deeper into things, because narratives are being constantly manipulated to divide us when we should be working together.
    That said, I think Desantis does have some anti LGBT attitudes himself but he seems the type to adhere to the constitution as much as possible and not manipulate the law in a partisan way. That said, I’m not voting for him as I’m rooting for RFK so far … just try to stay objective about this stuff bcuz they’re dividing us on purpose so we will stay busy arguing amongst ourselves and not hold them accountable.
    The establishment is the issue in my opinion, and the collusion of government & corporations needs to be addressed immediately or the constitution will fade into obscurity.
    Just my 2 cents (sense)

      Yeah we live in an age where people fume off of headlines. That if they only read a just a bit deeper then they'd understand. But it does also seem these are trying to address the social contagion aspect. I'm a leftist but it's gone well beyond acceptance and more along the lines of aspirational. Which for the majority of the us left or right isn't the case. Despite the huge backlash to anything to say the contrary. It seems reasonable to not teach young children about sexuality until you find out that it enables pedophiles. There are countless examples of children who didn't realize they were being abused until they learned about it at school. Sex education for young children literally just means teaching them they have a right to bodily autonomy, how to communicate about consent, and how to recognize abuse and ask for help. The reality is that teaching kids about sex from a very early age makes it more difficult for pedophiles to find and groom potential victims.

    Having watched virtually all of Peterson's online oeuvre and having recently seen Destiny talking - Destiny is significantly more balanced than Peterson. I would enjoy seeing them discussing political issues.
    Peterson's problem is that whilst his knowledge of psychological studies is deep, his political and philosophical analysis is relatively shallow. Destiny seems to immerse himself in all these fields and in areas like politics, he ends up way ahead of Peterson in terms of realistic takes on society.
    I've been surprised by Destiny. I expected a blue-haired youtuber to be pretty shallow and he's defied my expectations. Congrats man, you're a sharp blue-haired cookie.

It does show how much this country has completely sunk on terms of finding middle ground, and having any overlapping positions. If this dude is any indication of the norm thinking on the left, then I see why the country is so divided with theories consisting of no truth whatsoever. It is imperative that we start seeking out ways to successfully break the echo chambers we all clearly have become trapped in, and that is on both sides. We used to have more similarities than differences, but this dude and I believe pretty much opposite on the facts. Which is sad considering i am talking about facts. The fact he can say with a straight face that Biden is just doing a stand up job shows how out of touch he is... How can anyone say that when the price of EVERYTHING necessary to live in society has skyrocketed in the last couple years. I go to the grocery store and spend no less than $100 no matter what I get. Forget about abortion and I will even ignore the sick agenda to corrupt innocent children with the trans BS for a second, how can anyone be yippy for this administration just based on the cost of common goods. See these influencers do not care because they have money to blow, so its all hogwash to them, but I know my ideology on this is correct because all you have to do is look at anything biden posts on twitter and you will see the accurate state of the nation. Typically the family unit would allow people to get out of poverty or at least not be reliable on assistance. My siblings and I helped our parents and we are all doing well, especially coming from nothing. Being poor in the US isn't bad at all. We have the opportunity to get out of poverty with hard work. As Americans we are privileged and whine too much. Just get on with it. Having a victim mentality keeps you stuck.

    Destiny has been off politics for so long he's now got his finger a bit off the pulse. I just have to say, David Pakman ABSOLUTELY is center left. He is not far left. In the United States far left would mean you are at they VERY least "socialist friendly" if not some flavor of actual socialist. David Pakman is not a socialist, he is very pro-capitalist, he wasn't even fully on board with Medicare for all which is essentially the water line for being "progressive" and progressive isn't even far left in the USA. I consider myself moderately left, pretty progressive, and I'm very much in favor of Medicare for all. Pakman was more of a public option guy, and has always been much MUCH more moderate than Hasan, Vaush, or the other actual "socialist" far left voices. I feel like Destiny used to know this? To catch you up, Pakman is center left, most of the TYT folks are moderate left, and Vaush would be kinda the key example of where the far left on-average is at the moment. The "far" left is an extremely large gradient of course, but most of TYT don't even qualify, and Pakman doesn't REMOTELY qualify. Pakman is very much so a center left liberal.

Bro is straight up gaslighting the audience and doing that whole andrew tate thing where he says one modicum of reasonable truth to get the viewers on board and then uses that as a tactic to then springboard his future statements with more validity. Bro said that fentanyl is a boogeyman issue, like bro I live in one of the most progressive cities in America and the addiction and homelessness has been on an exponential climb ever since Covid started. I've never seen the streets this bad and most people who live here will tell you that it has gotten a lot worse in recent memory. If conservatives have a problem with worrying about supposed non issues and putting all their energy into those so much then the Democrats/progressives have a problem with almost flat-out ignoring issues that genuinely need attention because they view said issues as things conservatives care about thus look the other way and pretend like they're not happening. fuck conservatives am I right? They're all racist fascists apparently and anything that they're concerned about is obviously something will stop progress. BOTH the progressives and the conservatives have been putting way too much energy into the whole trans issue. Both are using it to fear monger and both are letting it distract people from the things that affect everybody, not just the LGBTQ community.
