I went "on the cheap" with my work platform by going to a local countertop place and got some sink cutouts. Worked well, maybe you could try that too, they are usually free.
Turned out great George! Thank you for all your research it makes it easy for me to watch your videos and create a project. To date, I have made three Opinel knife sheaths, two SAK pouches, covered two hobby knives with leather, a knife slip for my 84mm Tinker small, and now I am making a sheath for Mr Opinel saw. Thanks for all the help.
Well dammit I do try....lol. just trying to improve everytime I do a leather project. Discovered the leather you choose is kinda important....lol. thanks again for the support
Good morning I have a question have you ever tried a saddle stitch I found that works the best on stitching for sheaths and it's really easy to get a straight stitch because you can see the row as you're doing it if you don't know the saddle stitch there's tons of TH-cam videos on how to do

Nice job, George. Stitching is always a real challenge. I see lots of commercially made belts, etc. With edges that are not burnished. Terrible.
Yep, burnishing makes a big difference. Be safe
@@2ndchancegeorge It takes a little longer, but the result is more durable and appealing to the eye.
By the way, Harbor Freight sells an anvil that gets pretty good reviews on line. Check it out.
I can’t find a #12. Any where
Try opinel USA site they have a #12
@@2ndchancegeorge I found it thank you
