Once upon a time... An old man sank his mod wood handle into a coffee can of boiled linseed oil. When he woke up his cat was gone, and the farm yard was full of farrel cats chasing lilvermin. He cleaned off the oil. A year later the handle was stuck to his shop rag. You were doing it just right with a gentle wipe down. Lol you are a great teacher!
Looks great! I made a Swedish strength coffee syrup and chickory blend. I rub it into light wood to bring out grain. Just a bit less bright. It works great!
Good job George. Have several Opinels including that saw. Have a number 10 that is hard to open sometimes. A little tip. Hold the knife in one hand as normal. Give the collar end a hard rap against the meaty part of the palm of your other hand. Blade should jump out enough to get ahold of to open.
Wow.....I apologize. Now I know the su.....my bad. I am old school so tend to sir ma'am alot. Just brought up with that you like the things we were taught, like please, thankyou, may I...etc. not so much now. But hey I.....we are old school. Be safe my dear. Short tommorow on the boxcar whittler. Love those blades.
Lol...I am the worst person to ask on sharpening. The only advise I can give is get a ceramic rod and a strop. Most opinels because of the grind ( full flat) just require a couple of light strokes with the ceramic rod both sides. 5 or 6 strokes lightly keeping as flat as the grind. You will be able to feel the " peel" on the edge. Then just lighty using the leather strop give it some swipes till that peel is gone. Most people tend to sharpen with a stone. It's not necessary evertime. Maybe use a stone after you have stopped 20 times. Hope that helps. The main thing is take your time and light strokes. No need for any pressure when sharing. Also might want to check out lacey lace on Instagram and YT. Excellent blade sharpener. 👌. Be safe
George I had one them mine broke blade flew off hit me in face put me off buying another but a dremel rotary tool I use to put nail knick in blades if you has one well worth you getting them I modified all my points on blades for better carving abilities can't abide spear points myself I prefure warncliff or sheep foot blades 👍🦊🐾🍻
Well that cannot be good. I have a Drexel and other battery tools just choose to do things by hand. I do like a wharncliffe blade for whittling. The tip works well. Be safe

A very nice Opinel mod George. I like the subtle change especially to the belly. I'm a big fan of Opinel knives. They are classics.
Yep...well known and loved. As they should be. Thanks for watching 👍

I like the two tone. Try dry lubricant, might work better with wood. One of my opinels was stiff and I ran some sandpaper down grove. Have a great day
Good ideas. 👍 thanks for watching always appriciated
Nice work, George!

Are you on another social media. This is public so no need to say. I am on fb, insta etc. Links in descriptions if you interested.
@@2ndchancegeorge Su is short for Susan Kay. Lol! No worries! Looking forward to the boxcar! It’s fun seeing my knives on the little screen.
Nice work!
Thankyou. Appriciate the support
Looks great. If I wanted a nail nick, I think I would opt for a small hole. Kind of like Spydeco, but smaller.
Yep. I did that on the other mod I did. I'm not very good with a dremmel but it worked. Thanks for watching always appreciated
Very nice
Thanks for watching
A nice idea for easier blade access, those teeth look very aggressive, thanks for the video, George.
