The complexity of your work grows continually. It's visibly evident in all your videos. The wife and I love the Bigfoot! Keep up the good work and thx for all your videos!
You are awesome at your craft and this was mesmerizing to watch. You could make a buck teaching people your techniques for sure! Leather work is such a historical art form. Be well Freak of Nature!
Loved all the different angles while you were working on it; If it's not a hassle, maybe a long form of working on a piece - would probably have some ASMR quality too.❤
You never cease to amaze me. Here, art meets utility. In your skillful hands, it is doubtful that there is nothing you cannot accomplish. Well done young lady!👍
Thank you for the video, as usual it is fun to watch you work. I really like the finished product. Knife sheath, ax cover, and now a saw holster, every thing a woodsman could need ! 😀
Thank you! ☺️ being an avid outdoorsmen myself I have a great interest in trying to enhance the outdoor experience with handy tools :) that look decent 😉
That's a really good job! I like the topo graphic map on the sheath. When are you going to sell that as a package deal? Thank you for taking time to build, film, and edit this video.
Thanks so much for the compliments! ☺️ I’m not sure if I’ll ever sell it as a combo ( unless Silky wants to strike a deal 😉) but I’ll be selling the sheath on my website soon :)
@@freakofnatureco well if you ever decide to make a combo let me know, that would be something I would be interested in. I just hate buying a sheath without the actual item it was designed for, to many options out there.
I so totally agree. This is on my To Do list for my Silky PocketBoy. The PB sort of fits in my back pants pocket, but that's not the best place for it. A holster such as this is in the works. Thanks for sharing (and doing the heavy lifting of coming up with a good design I can, umm, borrow). Love your work and keep it coming. Saved in my To Make playlist!
You are simply amazing……. You put me in a trance watching you work!!!!! Is there classes you can take for leatherworking? And I’m still going to get you to do a special piece from you!!!!! Thanks again for another amazing video 😊
Thanks so much for the kind words! And I’m sure there are some classes somewhere… but I learnt everything I know off of TH-cam! Leatherworking isn’t really a popular thing where I’m from.
@@freakofnatureco ok yeah nowadays there isn’t to much you can’t learn off the internet thanks so much…… you still have me lined up for you just in case my name is Pete Rossini stay well☺️
Oh, HELL YEAH!!! That Map and Samsquatch theme brought back memories from a kayaking trip I took at the Blue Ridge Reservoir in Arizona!!!! It's gorgeous! I have a sheath for my Bark River Golok whose retaining strap got cut by the blade long ago....I am getting super temped to get onto your schedule!!!!! (that blade was on the trip of which I speak)
Looks amazing but for a saw I would leave the bottom open and maybe just have a strip of leather as a stop. Because saws collect wood chips and wood chips hold moisture and will rot the leather
Freaking awesome as usual! I also made a sheath for my Gomboy. I wish TH-cam would let me post a photo in this comment but unfortunately not. oh well not as nice as yours anyway. Another great video from the Freak of Nature Co team!!!
Another beautiful work of art! What's the tool you used to thin the leather at the fold? I'm still new to this craft and I know you can use a stitching groover, but that is slow and doesn't look good
Ok where were you when i made the one for my 2000 ? I made mine from cordura and its is nothing like the quality of yours, As always you make this stuff look easy which I know it isn't . great work nicely done a pleasure to watch you make stuff.
I have a real old holster that is white with mold. What do you recommend to do to bring it back to good condition? Your video is wonderful and well produced and edited.
Ou that’s a good question, something I’ve never encountered before. If I were you I’d give it a good conditioning wash, let it dry in a nice sunny warm spot and then give it a gooooood oil soak. (But I’d definitely ask other ppl their opinion / do a good google research ) 😉
Awesome work! Love your logo ... a personal question... have you ever encountered sasquatch? I know a controversial subject... so if you don't answer I understand.
@freakofnatureco that's probably a good thing... depending on who you listen to. Thanks for passing on all the knowledge. I've been making some knives lately and am starting to make the sheeths. Have made 3 so far and you make it look so easy lol . Mine are getting better but still in the learning curve...
Hi I'm love by the works you do , like it very much , also I am new beginner in the leather . I would love to now how is cold the "beating board " and which material is made ?
I count every hole to make sure there’s the same amount on both sides… this only work if both sides are symmetrical… honestly I still struggle with this sometimes… if you have instagram go check out my post today lol it was a struggle. @mrs.freakofnature
Stupid question time ... at what point/size/style of sheath/holster... do you add a drain hole. The Sno-Seal has essentially made that a "container" with no way for rain/snow to get out. I'm not trying to sound "judgy" .. I love your work and I'm still very much a novice.
Totally great question… I try my best to add a draining hole with my knife sheaths, but often times my welt ends up closing the hole… still working on perfecting that part, I’m also pretty novice in the craft. Even with a draining hole you should never leave your tool in a leather sheath for long periods of time, leather will always retain some moisture unfortunately when in the elements.
Wow! Super cool! Now, I need to reprimand you...at 4:59, you have your left hand in the line of fire. Yikes! Don't do that anymore. Sorry, that is what I do for a living, watching my employees work safely, so that really caught my eye.
Hahaa ya got me! ;) I’ve definitely already slipped up a few times, especially when I had my cheaper tools, I’d force the cut and slip and ouchy! I’ll try and be more careful! ☺️
@@freakofnatureco yup, I've definitely had my lessons learned...lots of Band-Aids and super glue. And maybe shoulda got stitches at least a couple times.
