Glad there's finally a video on the JL. I've had multiple idler pulleys failures on my JK so I always kept two extra ones and a belt on my offroad toolbox. Hopefully the JL V6 is better about keeping pulleys from getting worn out. I know that the JL and JK V6 idler pulleys are the same but the serpentine belt is different.
Thanks, glad it helped. Thanks for viewing the channel.
Routine maintenance like this is the best way to get to know your vehicle. Helps to know as much about you vehicle as possible, in case something goes south on you while out on the road. And routine maintenance can help make sure you don't have little problems down the road. thanks
100%agree
This video helped a ton. I couldn’t figure out how to get to the belt tensioner since the vacuum pump bracket was blocking it.
Thanks for viewing and the comments. Glad it helped.
@@JeepingMo which way to turn the belt tensioner?
@@richardgatling4663 you’re going to slowly push it to the passenger side, it takes a little bit to get it to move. Just be patient.
@@JeepingMo it wouldn’t budge at all. Even with a breaker bar.
Did you end up replacing the tensioner? Since it would not budge?
I have a 2020 Gladiator, may be the same, no power steering pump on yours too? Going clockwise down from the 1. Alternator ribbed 2. Left idler pulley smooth 3. AC ribbed 4. Water Pump smooth 5. Crank ribbed 6. Tensioner smooth 7.. Right Idler Pulley ribbed 8. Center Idler Pulley smooth? Mine shredded while on the freeway, still have power steering because it’s electric, only sign was temp gauge 230 and volts 11,
@@rubphilosopher9307 it should be the same, the electric steering keeps working. But i wouldn’t run it long, do t want to overheat it. Thanks for viewing.
That part is the brake booster vacuum pump. ( I am not that smart, I asked the same thing on a forum a few months back)
Thanks, I knew someone would know.
Its the vacuum
Turning the alternator around was the dumbest engineering flop ever! 😅
It definitely didn’t make it easy to change on the road. Thanks for viewing.
I just replaced mine 2 weeks ago
So you know the pain. Thanks for viewing and the comments.
Is it the same belt for the Jeep JL 2.0?
I’m not sure about that, I would check with parts department at your local Jeep dealership. Thanks for viewing.
