i never came face to face with 1, til just recently... i found a couple, chewing at my pumpkin patch, in the middle of the night. i'm prrrretty sure i saw the tail of a baby too... baby skunks are soooo CUTE... check out my newest vid & u tell me, if the skunk in my yard is a MaMa skunk, with a baby behind her... 🦨🦨 (they musta figured that i wouldn't mind, since i feed the squirrels & the cats over here too)

I caught a young skunk when I was a kid and it made an excellent pet. Never had it de scented and it never tried to spray unless you tried to handle it while it was eating. They are a lot like cats.

They wanted one but by the time we got back to the woodchuck hole they were living in they were too old. They had grown wild in about 2 weeks

When I was a teenager back in the 80s (yikes 😬 lmao 🤣) a friend of my parents had a baby skunk. Whenever they went outta town for something, i would babysit her. Luckily, we were neighbors too so I went over to play with her all the time. Anywho, when she passed away i was so sad and still am when I think of her. She was a sweet, lovable, playful little girl that was just absolutely adorable. I would go over and just call her name (Penelope) and she would come outta wherever she was. I loved her to pieces ❤ rip little Penelope, I hope i see her again 1 day in heaven 🙏

When I was a kid, we had cats and we fed them on our back porch. Many times I would hear the sounds of food being eaten and I would flip on the light to check, and it would be a skunk. And the cat would be sitting there watching it eat.
For me it was always opossums. Scary looking things and then we stopped feeding the stray cats because of the family of opossums. But Im not sure who was more scared me or them when I flipped on the porch light lol.

We are animals just like they are. Every sentient life is precious. That dad was a dick who was killing animals who feel love, pain, emotion, etc. - animals who have special social bonds with their family members just like he does - for what?? Because it was ugly??? It is not that hard to remove an animal from your house without killing it you know.
The dad was such a dick that it would kill it when it wasn’t even inside the house and was only on the porch, for fucks’ sake! I have no respect for people who have no respect for life. No living creature deserves to be killed just because it looks ugly or sounds scary to somebody.
So cute!!! I had the joy of rescuing 2 that were abandoned by their mother 2 years ago. One was actually Brown and white!! My local rescue actually did all the work but it's still nice to know there's 2 little stinkers out there because of me! :P

if you ever consider it, they take more care and dedication than a cat or dog do. so be ready in that aspect, do your research, and make sure it's legal where you are.

Made the unfortunate mistake of hitting one and he died on the spot because his car was held together with masking tape... The skunk made it out unhurt but damn.. R.I.P driver should've had better taste in cars.. Also I hope I hit you with my truck.

The one skunk with multiple strips is very different. I have never seen this combination. I have seen an albino skunk. I even wonder if this is from a cross breeding of a skunk and some other animal related to skunks? The guy on the bike and the confronting the young skunk was taking one serious leap of faith.
There are one stripe skunks, multi-striped and spotted. Depends where you live which one you'll see the most of.

Skunks don't do all that stomping and such for the hell of it you know. The last thing they want to do is spray you. It's just that it's their one major defense. It takes over a month for their scent glands to replenish after spraying... Leaving them with no defenses against things like wild dogs and idiot people.
Sure they have claws and teeth but that means they have to get up close and personal to use them. And the chances that those will save them at that point, is between slim and nil.
Mark Lindahl I like the vid and animals. But with real truth to what I think why people dislikes, skunks are rodents. They tend to search for habitat and food like most animals do, except when being threatened, they use their scent glands to spray and push away threats. TBH, I’ve encountered one in a forest area and hell, their spray smells so fucking bad when I tried to get close to them. Also, another thing about em’ is that they’re invasive, especially in farmlands. And not to mention, they may look like innocent, herbivore mammals on the outside, but in the inside, they’re omnivores. So, they may be looking for plants to feed on, but they also have the strength to fight and kill prey that are weak against them, such as insects, lizards, frogs, chickens, etc. But however, I still like these animals either way, even if they sound bad.

We had a friend skunk who never sprayed that lived under our porch and ate out of our garden. He liked the dog and they would chase each other. Then he brought a girl home that looked just like him. Mom got sprayed in the garden and the dog got sprayed and I couldn't catch her in a trap but then did. Put a blanket over the trap and took her far away and dumped her on Forest Service land. Our friendly skunk left and moved down the road some and lived under their porch and ate dogfood. The End

Baby skunks are so cute - I think I've heard those noises when I was a child when our property was considered out in the country - the trilling. We do have deer, groundhogs, Canada geese, kildeers, and foxes because my house is close to a creek.

For anyone wondering, when a skunk feels threatened or is really scared, they do this think where they stomp their front legs. This acts as a warning, so if you ever see a skunk doing this, don’t stand there thinking it’s cute, but possibly move away 😂
