I'm a wheelchair user and the 2nd story really hit home. I went to a Christmas festival this year and was having a wonderful time - until I needed the bathroom. The venue had 4 washrooms all claiming to be accessible but they were not. I cannot express how frustrating and humiliating it was having to go from bathroom to bathroom only to be denied over and over. I called the venue the next day and they were horrified and promised to do better at their next festival.

It’s so true, many times the person at the desk tries so hard to help each guest/customer but they are hindered by the manager.

All hotels are legally required to have special accommodations for guests with disabilities, including accessible entrances, bathrooms with grab bars, roll-in showers, lowered beds, and wider doorways, ensuring that individuals with varying abilities can comfortably access and utilize all hotel facilities. Thank you for these great stories.👍😊

It's the owner's responsibility to ensure that there are boards in their property to facilitate the disabled other people who can't find their their way around the hotel or his property. Don't blame the staff. This responsibility lies totally on the owner's shoulders and his capabilities to manage his own hotels or properties.

So why/how didn’t the blind owner of the hotel chain assure that all of HIS hotels were accessible? That’s on him. He’s the CEO. Same with the wheel chair lady. She’s the CEO.

Not only that, if someone is blind it doesn't necessarily mean that they don't see anything at all. They may see light, darkness, blurry shapes, be able to see out of one little spot out of one eye, etc.

      @@b.41879 I’m with you.
I’ve actually met some people who were blind. All of them with varying levels of blindness.
There are multiple ways of navigating with blindness. Canes, guide dogs, reading braille and having a sighted guide. They can be super independent. And you never would have known. In my experience, they make great friends. So, never judge people based on what they can’t do. Focus on what they can do. Don’t take what you have for granted! 😊

After these two got in trouble with the CEO, then they're talking all professional. I would have fired them because who they are is how they acted. You can't change that without a major overhaul which I know it would be God. When people are rotten the only way they can get unrotten is getting with God and having him in their life to change their rotten personality and their rotten spirit. The only way anybody can change is through God. I would have fired them. They're no good for my business when they treat my customers with meanness ugliness and I wouldn't put up with it

I don't think they're mocking disabled people in the video but showing a reality that sadly many disabled people face daily. When going to hotels, restaurants and other businesses. I also believe that CEOs should go undercover more often to catch condescending and rude employees

    • @b.41879

I think you've taken the wrong way as the intention is quite the opposite of mockery. Perhaps, you feel this way because the actors do not actually have the disability they are trying to act? And that feels offensive to you? Would it be less offensive to you if they had actors acting with their actual disability maybe?
Do you have a good support system to express these thoughts, feelings, etc with?
