These hints are so helpful. I will add one of my own: if you are using a backpack or backpack purse, never ever keep your passport and credit card/cash in an accessible pocket in the back. I had a horrible experience on my first trip to France in 1994 and got absolutely no help from French police at the Gare du Nord in Paris. Long story but I managed to get help from 2 policemen outside of the city. They took a deposition and thankfully I managed to get back to Canada with that. Also, keep in mind that thieves often work in pairs and are very quick about it.
Great tip on never keeping the passport & money in an accessible place! Sorry to hear about your bad experience in Paris. Relieved to hear you were able to get back home though!
I'm half Korean and Half Filipino but I'm in Scandinavia currently. This always helps me check what I need when I travel! Thanks unnie for all the help! You're kind, outgoing, funny, ect. Your just the best girl! Thanks Mina unnie! 하지만
The top countries I want to travel to are Paris, Spain, Japan, and South Korea, but I would like to travel everywhere. Believe it or not, I`ve never been out of my home country, so I've been living vicariously through your videos. I do have goals I want to complete and there might be a trip in my near future if everything goes according to my goals and it might be to Spain or Paris. I haven`t decided yet.
My TOP countries to visit are Norway, Australia, Japan, and Spain. Outside of the US, the country I've been to the most is our northern neighbor, Canada. Trips to Vancouver, Toronto, and this past summer to Banff/Jasper/Calgary.
This video could not come at a more perfect time. I made the goal last night to travel to South Korea in the next year. It will be my first time traveling abroad. Thanks so much, Mina!
These are such great tips! Planning before the trip DEFINITELY saves a lot of stress. Booking at least your first night's accommodations is SO, SO IMPORTANT. It is so much safer. I had a potentially dangerous situation in Mexico because I didn't have a plan and someone recommended a hotel to me. I had no internet, plus my phone was dying, so I didn't know what I was getting into. Everything worked out okay, but it was an experience I don't want to relive.
Since I live in Europe, for me it's quite easy traveling around. I saw Great Britain, France and Italy. My dream is to go around Asia, like in Korea or Japan. And also Canada and Iceland! Those places seem amazing!
@@ganyu5215 It removes the like when you edit your comment! It makes sense, what if they edited to say something awful (racist, illegal, etc.) and it showed the person liked it.
Love that you brought up vaccines! They’re oh so important when it comes to things like hepatitis vaccine, and also make sure you have your childhood vaccinations are up to date so you’re protected against things like measles and such as well! I took Havrix when going to China the first time as it protects against airborne hepatitis, and I also had the booster shot so got the 25 years of protection. I never needed to get separate travel insurance for my trips I’ve been on, as my home insurance has 45 days coverage world wide so yeah, I have 45 days of travel insurance included in my home insurance and that has been enough for me as my longest trip has been about a month (to China). Never needed to use my travel insurance though, even with me being sick in China twice (on different trips) as the cost for medicines and medical care was very inexpensive, all in all my medical care in China for both times I needed it, probably cost less than $100 US, and that’s with having private VIP room for two days as outpatient while getting infusions the first time I was sick, and going to the VIP clinic the second time I got sick (the hospital I went to was built in collaboration with western companies and had a special VIP clinic for foreigners as there are many international companies and expats in that part of Suzhou)
Getting sick on vacation or on trips suck. It kind of makes it so you wonder why you even bothered taking the trip. I mean if you get sick while on vacation or on a trip, you'll most likely spend time in the hotel and stay bed sick for a lot of the time, and that's _no bueno_ . Scams & thieves are a huge problem. Some countries most definitely don't have safe tap water. Drinking safe tap water means you're likely to experience diarrhea, fever, vomiting, nausea, stomach pains, etc. Getting sick like that (again) means you'll be miserable for pretty much the entire time you're at work. 💩🤮 Of course it makes sense to leave expensive jewelry at home. Just travel with minimum of what you need, your medicines & vitamins you normally eat, etc. Definitely make sure your passport is up to date and you have copies of it in your bag, some copies at home, etc. 15:03 Exposed! _The Mina_ is from the future and she knows about robots. ROBOTS!!! Oh and another tip.. Wear a fanny pack, and wear your backpack front side forward so you're less likely to get pickpocketed.
FYI: The US State Department will no longer issue extra passport pages. You must now get a new passport. And all new passports are now the 52 page version, not the 26 page one anymore.

My english teacher made me watch your videos for homework and I ended up subscribing. Also next week I'm going for my first trip to another country and this video is so so helpful! THANK YOU SO MUCH
Enjoyed the travel tips! Living in Australia for a study abroad has been my favorite travel experience. I have also enjoyed my trips to places like Belize, Cuba, and the Galapagos Islands.
Can you please do a video about what to expect when going through customs? Especially if going from the US to Korea and then back with souvenirs? I can't find any videos that touch on this subject. Thank you!
I left my passport and wallet with all my cash/IDs on a bus right before my departure from S Korea. Needless to say I nearly panicked lmao. Do NOT leave a bus/train/hotel without checking to make sure you have everything.
I totally understand! Traveling can be tiring for the body, especially with jetlag. Thus why it is important to take care of our health even more before boarding that flight.
I do or at least try to do all of the things you have mentioned, everytime I travel. Checking the passport and getting all the information ready is crucial for every trip. I have visited places in the UK, Ireland, Poland, Germany, Czech Republic, France, Italy, Switzerland and South Korea. My favourite was Korea, I have been there 4 times and I am sure it is not the end. I am planning to go to Austria, Spain and Canada by the end of 2020.
Been to South Korea many times. Mostly Seoul, and Jeju, but I went to Busan. Been to south Japan too. Explored the Osaka Castle. Doing Uber and Lyft now to save up and get a ticket to Taiwan or Cambodia to teach English. I live being able to eat all day, and still lose tons of weight while in Asia. USA can’t seem to make vegetables taste as good as they do in Korea. I mean I hate cabbage, but I’ll eat Kimchi till I’m beyond full.
I already traveled my top destination, japan. Now i really want to visit russia, thailand and canada. The countries that i visited are france, germany, belgium, spain, greece, portugal, luxembourg (homecountry) and i'm currently in south corea.
Excellent tips. Thanks. Worried that someone would have too much info if luggage is lost. I took a sticker label, wrote my First name, last initial, junk email and cell. Stuck it to the inside wall of the luggage. I also have a pic of passport on my cell. I only keep one copy of my printed out passport which I usually keep with my other travel docs. For new international travelers I recommend to simply print out a checklist, and follow it. If something on the list does not apply to you at least you have a visual way of seeing you don't need it or it was done. I just came back from Japan this month first trip there. I didn't need a Visa from US. Checked it off list. Sweet etc...
#150: #10: Research Great item (7:32) We went to Spain and found out it was Semana Santa - Easter week. Seville was booked - totally, so we had to give it a miss. The Spanish say that during Easter week everyone in Spain is a Catholic! We did hit some great small towns (like Cebreros) and thoroughly enjoyed their parades and celebrations. ALWAYS wear a money belt. I use a neck pouch and never has a store clerk blinked even once. Pickpockets areas common in Europe as pigeons. Really. And always bring almonds! You never know if you are going to meet Miss Mina! Thank you, Miss Mina!!!!
What a celebratory time you must've had in Spain! Great tip on wearing money belt. Once in Monaco, everyone in the tram fell down in a wave. Turns out it was staged by pickpocketers. The gentleman had his wallet stolen during the wave. I felt terrible for him. Everyone was staring at each other and trying to figure out who took it, but no luck. LOL on carry around almonds 😂
@@MissMinaOh Spain was great and many small towns are better than big ones, I have found. Still carry my almonds, always fresh! I am just down the road in Olympia, WA. Thanks for the highlighted reply!!! You are the best.
Great tips! I’d add another tip though - if you can, exchange your cash prior to going abroad, or at least check whether that country’s airport accepts the currency you’ll be offering for the exchange. I flew from India to Sri Lanka and didn’t realize that although their currencies are very alike, no one at the airport accepts Indian rupees.
Not gonna lie this help me a lot. Since it gonna be my first trip. Your voice is very soothing to listen to and isn’t boring like other videos I watched.
Great advice. I couldn't have said it better myself. Doing everything well in advance helps a lot... Especially... learning basic words and sentences. Though I have them written down in my phone and mini notepad I carry religiously around. I also take pictures and store them to my offline google photos of plane tickets, hotel confirmations, my id, passport, credit cards, Traveler's Insurance, vaccinations and IDP. And paper copies have saved my butt multiple times. I think the biggest tip I would say is to have a pen. Multiples in every bag. I never knew how much I needed a pen until I was in Customs having to wait in line for one in Shanghai Pudong International Airport. Ugh! Oh and the 24/7 visa is needed even if you are just getting on a connecting flight. Especially if you land at 11pm and your flight is at 8am the next day. They shut down and reopen. I have been many places. So far my favorite was Dubai. Though after your Iceland videos I think that's on my to do list now.

Thank you so much for this video! I'll be traveling to Korea with my best friend for about a month and I'm unsure of what to expect. It'll be my first time being so far away from home so this video helped me out a lot. I've been watching your other Korea videos as well to give me ideas on what to do while I'm there. I feel less nervous about everything now (:
Very informative! Now will you also please make a video on do's and don'ts/tips etc. on solo traveling. Specially on how not to be afraid or nervous.😱😬😟
The only way to overcome your fear of solo travelling is to actually do it. Just travel, you'll get used it once u throw yourself into the deep end. You'll love solo travel because u can do whatever you want, nobody is going to hold u back. You're as free as a bird. Try it :)
I am watching this video now in these days 😂 but trust me, i think i got enough ideas to travel anywhere in future. You are awesome. I love those videos where i can get something in return like learning or related and my dear you are just doing amazing you are giving a piece of advice. There are lot of people who will think that this is very basic things that we have to carry, but sometimes in some hurry or rush we can forget something. So, it's good to make a list while you are going anywhere in world. ♥️

I'm going on a long haul flight soon can you please do your must haves while flying & any tips? Xx
This is a fantastic list!
traveling to SK soon this was really helpful!
Hey Mina, I'm traveling to Bali for new years eve. This was super helpful🥥😊
Very informative! Now will you also please make a video on do's and don'ts/tips etc. on solo traveling.
Specially on how not to be afraid or nervous.😱😬😟
Your request has been heard! Thank you for letting me know what you’d like to see ❤️
The only way to overcome your fear of solo travelling is to actually do it. Just travel, you'll get used it once u throw yourself into the deep end. You'll love solo travel because u can do whatever you want, nobody is going to hold u back. You're as free as a bird. Try it :)
Very useful !! Thanks !!
I was reading the title and a voice inside of me was screaming : I just want to travel even without tips !!!! ^__^

Comment about not knowing what to comment, of course! 😆
@missmina thank you so much for the ❤️
I am watching this video now in these days 😂 but trust me, i think i got enough ideas to travel anywhere in future. ♥️
South Korea!!! I'm a little nervous because it will be my first time travelling alone.
