Catholicism: The Fullness of the Truth - Explaining the Faith

  • How is it that we can definitively say the Catholic faith is the one true faith founded by Jesus Christ? Why can no other religion make that claim? Why can priests forgive sins? And why are the Sacraments a guaranteed source of grace?
Father Chris explains how Catholicism is the fullness of the Truth on this episode of Explaining the Faith.

I love you father cris and you are the best! And I love and I am very proud of my faith! And I have been haunted by goasts and spirits all my life and I try to get them to pray to Jesus and Mary by puting my Rosery and little statues on my bed and tell them to pray and talk to them and the do move and I know that I am helping them and they know and do BELEAVE ! They all know the Catholic Church is the truith!
      And by the way
IV always been on Gods side but my mother was a wit CV h and family members would be on the other side and yes she was a real with but I always had Mary in my room but I could see dead people sence I was born and they have been following me and haunting me my whole life and IV had a real bad life and my daughter that's 33 and my 4 grandchildren and IV had it it bad I don't want anything good o only want them out of my life and have nothen bad to happen to us any more! And I called my priest last WK Father Joe from our lady of the Rosery in Sandiego and that was last WK and I was really DISTRAUGHT and beged him to please come over and I'll pay 100. 00 cash to come over and bless me and my Appartment and he just won't do it and I beged him and he was scared and said he can't and the spirits hot pissed and they started to come out and this is gross but they infested my Appartment with scabies and now I have scabies and I went to the hospital and they gave me cream and I wasn't home for 3 deys that's when they die is 72 hrs so I did that and when I came home yesterday there still alive so I went back to the hospital and got more yesterday and now I'm putting it on again and I have to bleach from the ceiling to o the floor, and throw out a lot of shit and furniture and I'm poor but I always make sure that I do my donations to the Marion father's my church and home of the nation and do masses for my family dead and alive and last night I fell asleep praying the Rosery doomed that there never gonna get out of my life and that was the first time I ever asked for help from a priest and I know it will make a difference, and I was going to maybe call the Marion father's if they can help me and I'll call them tomorrow but I hope they can help ! Anything I'll be greatful!! 😢

I allmost left the church. Being a cradle catholic, this drove me comp!etly into a pit of darkness and despair. I swear by everything I hold dear, on that dark night I begged Christ on what I should do. Dear people, I was standing in front of the cross in the middle of the night when an audible voice came out of nowhere deep and filled with a love I could never convey here properly and said, "my daughter, you do it for Me". I stood in that darkness surrounded by the echo of His voice, fell to my knees and cried like a baby. My life, my soul has never been the same and I will remain Catholic at the foot of the cross until He calls me home.

I left the Catholic church 8 years ago, my sister found Jesus and follows a bible basis faith. I have to admit she brought me back to God, and I started reading the Bible and trying to renew my faith by praying the rosary daily. I found divine mercy and these explanations of the faith online and have listened to many and they are intregal to bringing people back to the faith. Some Catholics on here are harsh to people who have left and need to be kind and gentle and possibly share this video to explain the faith. You want to Welcome people and it should be all the faithfuls job to do that without judgement.

@@ellencuffari5315 Absolutely I agree and do understand. For me, I have learned to silently pray and forgive anyone who may have made me feel this way. But I have found harshness in the day to day living, if I can not forgive others then how can I dare approach our Lord and ask for His forgiveness? We all know so little and yet we think we know it all.

You are truly blessed to have such a personal and tangible experience with Christ. I yearn for that so that I know I'm going in the right direction. The Catholic church has so many demons it's past. I mean I was a CCD teacher for years, but it bothers me when a Catholic on here said if you left the church, your faith wasn't very strong to begin with or some other condescending comment. That isn't divine mercy!!

I did RCIA to become Catholic when I was 19 years old in 1999. Parallel to RCIA I was praying alone in my bedroom at night over a problem and I experienced what felt like fresh air breathed into my soul and the room around me turned black as a white light appeared over me in a flash and I was struck by spirit. I kept this experience to myself. A few days later I went to eucharist adoration and as I left In saw a pamphlet about Medjugoria and Marija visiting Caritas of Birmingham in Sterrat AL in November to receive a message from Mother Mary. I drove the thousand miles from Vermont to AL. I was there alone feeling lost and crying and a catholic youth group from Ocala found me and prayed over me for Jesus to wash me in his precious blood, and as they closed their prayer with Amen they all close in to hug me. As they hugged me a massive upwelling of love rose up from inside my heart pushing out a capstone of all my heartache expressed as a singular massive pain the followed by an outpouring of love. Jesus healed my broken heart thet day, heartache caused by sin and trauma ollowed by an inner locution that taught me 1) stop masturbation because I'm worth more than that and 2) stop living to please the world because I'm worth more than that. Later that day Mary appeared to Marija and the moment she appeared, I saw Mother Mary wrapped in golden sunlight flash in a cloud accompanied with the scent of roses in the breeze.

After being a Jehova Witness, assisting to the seventh day reunions and others groups, looking for God everywhere...one day I spoke with an old lady, she was all love, spoke in such a gentle manner, her blue eyes were so tender and full of a brightness that reflected what a Christian should be... At that point I knew that I had found the House of the Lord, The Catholic Church. I dedicated my life to study, to understand the Church, its foundation, the whys, the more I learned the more I knew that it was the only one. One thing that conquered my heart was that I never heard about hating or despising others but about loving everyone, that was in total contrast to the fury, hatred, badmouthing that I had heard in other christians groups, not all but most. Thank you Sabina for showing me to love others and how to become a true Christian. I love you all.

I am a recent catholic convert and it pains me to hear of a Catholic who leaves the church. In my opinion those who leave do not believe in the real presence of Christ, that every mass is where heaven and earth meet and come together and we as the body of Christ come to receive the body and blood of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I think most who leave are not aware that they are walking away from the true church the only church that Jesus Christ founded. In other words most who leave the faith are not aware of what their faith teaches or have a lack of faith in it. or they are drawn away by the lust of the flesh the lust of the eyes and the pride of life of the prosperity gospel. Good talk Father God bless. Ave Maria!

Technically speaking if you had the one true Faith indwelling in your soul at one point in your life and you purposely descent from it and become Protestant, then you are an apostate. To leave the one true for a false religion makes you no longer Christian, because you have corrupted Faith and it is a lower case faith in man made doctrines.

I was born very nominally Catholic, never paid attention in CCD, and when I had (what I now know are) pretty simple questions about the faith no one had answers for me. It led me down a dark path of atheism and a strong hatred of everyone religious.
As life went by I fell into a pit of tragedy and horror, plagued with a horrible condition and earlier this year I hit my breaking point. That’s when an older friend of mine (an orthodox) suggested I pray. Just a few months earlier I would’ve scoffed and mocked her, but I was in such pain and had exhausted all of my earthly options, and the way she put it, “if He’s not real what’ll you lose? two minutes of your life? If He’s there, you’ve got everything to gain”.
I prayed and felt like an absolute buffoon after being an atheist for so long
But oh my goodness, I know now The Holy Spirit was moving in me, because instantly after I got a diagnosis after 7 YEARS and 8+ doctors not knowing what was wrong with me, I also was incredibly more optimistic, open to trying things, less stubborn, and no longer depressed. And I know this wasn’t placebo because I remember deep down hoping it wouldn’t work, because of some stubborn atheist feeling (probably out there by Satan)
Once I realized this I knew I had to return. But I was so ignorant on what Christianity was, I thought all the churches were the same. I knew Christianity was true, but wasn’t sure where to go. I had zero loyalty to the Catholic Church, despite being born into it. I was more than willing to switch if I discovered Protestantism or Orthodoxy was true.
But then with my research, the three things that I just couldn’t overlook that convinced me Catholocism is the one true religion is that 1. Created by Jesus Christ himself, 2. Uses all of the books in the Bible, 3. Has survived 2000 years without changing core teaching, no matter how much cultural change or pressure goes on.
And as I’ve watched your videos I am learning more and more that solidifies my belief.
Thank you so much Fr. Chris, aswell as Fr. Mike Schmitz and Trent Horn for helping me find my way home, and not just that, but be able to actually know my faith! One day hopefully I will be knowledgeable enough to defend my faith from others, or better yet, share with them!

May this gift be well received by countless Catholics whom are week in our/their faith and continue to bless those questioning the Catholic faith. We cannot wait to come visit the shrine.

One thing that is so sad is the number of Catholics who do not believe in the blood, body, soul and divinity of Christ and simply see communion as a symbol. As a 7 year old I was privileged to learn and hold fast my life long belief that the bread and wine truly become the body and blood of Christ. I think learning the big word of "transubstantiation" impressed upon that young girl that I was truly going to be receiving Jesus in the Eucharist and my week is lost without Mass and the Eucharist. And then Christ also says "unless you become like a little child"., so where does our faith stand?

Thank you so much for this information. So easy to follow and understand. I was Protestant for over 40 years, and questions could never be answered. I started asking, searching and reading. Wish I could poor out everything you just said into everyone I know. Most people don't understand the Catholic faith at all, and I constantly find myself trying to explain it. I have been Catholic for almost 5 years. Keep up the great work. God Bless

Thank you for your catechizes. I grew up in a time and place where it was very poor. When the Corona virus started my poor foundation of faith didn’t sustain me so I went looking for answers on the internet about my religion. The more I found the more I discovered how pure and close to God my religion is. I am no longer ashamed of the mistakes of the few (priests, bishops, scandal etc.) I’m proud of the truth and beauty of tradition of the true church, the Catholic Church. I truly feel the Holy Spirit resides in the church. Thank you God bless 🙏🏼🕊❤️

Strange about how you ended up
with an online date lady who
      wasn't schooled in Catholic Beliefs.
Luckily you bought the Holy Spirit with you. Now if you explain these

      Thank you very much.
The honesty about the date had first date irony in it
But you had to drop being nervious
      and listened up with disbelief
      Well done

My faith was reaffirmed when I prayered the Divine Mercy Chaplet at the bedside of my dying wife, who had a history of waking around 3 a.m. and requiring EMS intervention to get her medication for brain tumor during hospice. Finally, I prayed the Chaplet and she relaxed and slept without intervention, and passed peacefully as St. Faustina described in her Diary. My wife was able to accept death in peace after the Divine Mercy Chaplet.

How so awesome this video. I have been a Catholic all my life but not really know my faith. This reminds me of my very devouted Catholic grandparents and mother. They committed themselves to the Church and God, Jesus, Holy Sipirit, Mary, this Saint and that Saint that I never wanted to know, etc. Now I have learnt a lot from Father Chris and I am remembering my grandparents and mother who have passed on and how they prayed for us any time of the day and night. I am getting emotional.

When you stated that the church was found 'in the heart', reminded me of the woman at the well scene from the tv series, The Chosen, where Jesus informs the woman that soon it won't be about temples, but the heart. I was baptized Mormon, but today went to my first mass. I cried as its been decades since being in any church.. it felt calm and welcoming. Not knowing Catholic practices during mass, I was a bit clueless. But I'm going back. That felt more real then when I did attend the sacrament with the LDS church way way back. Thank you for clarifying this part.

This is a great reminder presentation to help the Catholics, especially those apostates to return while there is time. That is a true grace-filled presentation of the Church without fear and what every baptized Catholic - particular mentions the bishops, priests and deacons should do; preach the truth about the Catholic Church first and foremost and then follow up with teachings on the Bible, Sacraments, Mary, Tradition so and so.
