Made some of the best garlic parm chicken wings this afternoon, a dozen with one tablespoon of oil and they were just like out of the deep fryer, except honestly better! Looking forward to our sheep pan meals camping next summer! Cheers. . .

    • @JohnSanders
      @JohnSanders  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would have cut the carrots smaller... the larger ones were not soft all the way through... also I would have cut some of the really large potatoes in half but overall the vegetables... even under the chicken were cooked near perfect... of course size definitely matters and to keep it safe I would just go ahead and cut in half as it is hard to over cook potatoes in this situation... hope this helps...I think you will love this recipe and thank you for watching!!!

    Hey John. Maybe it's just me, but I don't see any advantage of cooking this recipe in a pan-within-a-pan in the NF. Why not use the great nonstick pan that the Ninja comes with? You would have more room to probably cook 3 or 4 thighs, and they would be further away from the cooking element to prevent burning. Might be an interesting experiment.

    I have the foodi deluxe. I wanted to order another tool for summer since i wouldn’t be using the pressure cooker much. I ordered the vortex plus but i also have a foodi oven ready for pick up. Any suggestions on what to choose? Family of 5 with 3 young children
    Thanks!

      I have this machine, it is truly wonderful and very, very versatile. I love the crisping lid. I used it right away and made at least 4 of the recipes in the book but then adapted other things once I got comfy using it. I love that it's several things in one; particularly love the air fryer - I don't *love* the slow cooker function, only bcuz I don't love using that function with a pressure cooker lid. Unlike with most stand-alone pressure cookers, this didn't come with a separate slow cooker LID, so you have to use the pressure cooker lid when using the slow cooker function, which I don't love - I prefer just using my slow cooker - but I plan on separately ordering a pressure cooker lid and see if that makes a difference. I love the Ninja Foodi. I am waiting on my air fryer oven now:)

    Put some Reynold's wrap on top of the pan in foodi and remove for the last 10 minutes or so of baking.

    • @JohnSanders
      @JohnSanders  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That would help on the browning but would hinder air flow and would make it take a lot longer to cook... but that might work... thanks for watching!!!

    • @bypasstoaleanerlynn8920
      @bypasstoaleanerlynn8920 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JohnSanders Don't actually wrap the pan, just lay on top or poke holes in the Reynold's wrap to create some airflow but keeping it from browning too much or do it in reverse, cover at the end of baking to prevent further browning, I think when you checked the chicken was almost 140 degrees so a punched out layer of Reynold's wrap probably wouldn't matter.

    Hey 007. I have had family members ask me, Is it more economical, electricity wise, to use the Ninja foodi air fryer, instead of a regular oven. Have you heard, or done tests yourself? Thanks for another great video.

    • @JohnSanders
      @JohnSanders  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have not performed test... but... when you consider amperage and cubic feet of area being heated it is not a question in my opinion... a kitchen oven is far more expensive to heat and operate than a air fryer that is not only a fraction of the size but half the amperage consumption... hope this helps and thanks for watching!!!
