I've been supporting the channel since the beginning (my name is on the lift) , but its hard to see this stuff in the videos. The original source of the phrase is racism about as simplified as you can get, which means of course it appeals to ultra-nationalists with concepts of purity or 'good old days.' Its just about destroyed America at this point, what's the harm in destroying another country too? Cool concept, build, and ride, just sad that anyone could think that hat is anything but anything but a packaging of the wearer into communal rage for profit. It ain't my mates, ain't my channel, ain't my build, ain't my anything but it still tarnishes it a bit

Moving the engine back 300mm, means it's almost behind the front axles, so does that mean it could technically be classed as a mid engine...? A bit like Jared from Wrench Every Day's Johnnie Rev? I'm sure it helps it handle better as well. Cool concept for a vehicle, although not too sure on the carbies. I've got triple side draft carbs on a 265 Hemi in an old Valiant and man it's a pig to start if it hasn't been driven for a couple of weeks. I can empathise with the clip of attempting to start it at the KFC carpark at the end - the pain is real!

The quadrajet in my 1968 Cadillac DeVille convertible seems very reliable and i'm getting 18 liters per 100 km with a 1300 kg caravan going 80 km/h... If it ever fails i might look into an EFI replacement. Starts up fine with one step on the gas (acc pump) when cold and with just the key when warm.
EDIT: The Cadillac has a 472 cubic inch / 7.7 liter Cadillac big block with 10:1 compression and 375 hp/700NM, although that's the old american gross hp. The power should be more like 275-300 at the crank, the torque is pretty impressive though and it jumps off the line pretty quick for 5.75 meters of american steel at about 2200 kg.

Hide a port injection system inside the huge arse manifold and use that just to reliably start the engine...then auto switch it off (say using manifold vaccum switch) for running on carbies mode???

Those seat belts look about as effective as those retractable belt barriers they use to form orderly lines in the customs area of the airport..

It was where the original belts had to be anchored so by regulation..
they need to go there again unless you build a rollover bar/cage...
which brings more problems re engineering for passing the technicasl inspection to allow registration...
      and insurance...

You need to do Aussie stuff, i msg built by Jeff to do more Aussie stuff but he said that it don't work for his overseas viewers and I thought it was a good opportunity to show the world what Aussies have to offer, mcm do k cars from Japan that don't really relate to the Aussie market, look at roadkill, we are Aussies and we have great stuff that we can show off to the world instead of doing stuff that the rest of the world has access to, highlight to the world what we have to offer, it's some of the best stuff the world has to offer , keep up the good work

We do lots of Aussie stuff, this is a holden ute chassis with a landcruiser ute body and a v8 from a commodore in it. What else can we do, make the bonnet into a BBQ and throw a prawn on it?

I dunno why but to me that seems like a trigger sync issue more than a carby issue, the extra cranking didn't really seem to "help" it, it didn't seem like it was cranking and then would slowly sputter then catch, it seemed like you cranked it and once or twice it would spark then do nothing, but if you cycle the key it fires straight up.
