    *Great reel, **enjoyable.fishing** recommend very smooth and I love that you can change from left hand to right hand so easily. Gave it a 4 on durability because I haven’t had it long enough to rate it. Doing good so far.*

    I just keep the screw driver between my toes applying tension with ball of my feet

    Best way is place spool of line on a unsharpened pencil, place between my knees, use my fingers to apply tension as Im spooling line on my reel. Simple 🎣

    Lord! I use two bare feet with a wooden dowel held between my big toes. Takes 3 seconds to setup and you can squeeze the spool as much as you want for tension. Works for thin spools, 1/4 pound spools, even big 1 lb. saltwater spools. Just use your Feet. Been doing this for 30+ years.

      Ditto, no reason to get any more complex. I also tend to hold a hand just below the first guide to tweak the tension as it comes through. It's just too simple.

    Get rid of the spider print on the plastic spool. It hangs up and causes uneven pressure. Saves you money and saves me grief.
    Biuld your spool smooth. With that money saved lower your price a few dollars.

    I'm changing my 3 year old line out to Berkley Fireline. Not sure I know anyone who replaces their line several times a year.

    holy shit what an overly and unncessarily complex option to respool a reel!!! lol

    I always put my line on my spinning reels with the line off the top or bottom of the spool for braid. Braid has virtually no memory. I literally “twist” the line on and when you cast, it comes off flat and straight with increased casting distance.

    I use my feet to apply tension :D

    Using the same logic about running fish in those conditions, in freshwater and inshore, just tie the braid directly through a couple of the holes on the spool and double uni about a 3 foot mono top shot to the other end. If you don't want to guess for your leader strength, just use two lines of similar strength, if it's reasonable. E.G. 20 and 20.

    i usually use another reel(bigger size and a few spare spools) as a tool for adding tension with its drag... and for the penn clash some fixing on the linelay is needed(with the supplied washers) so need to spool the line back and fourt a few times

    would this be best for alligator gar?

    • @MrDjones55
      @MrDjones55 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've used braid for longnose and shortnose gar, I prefer it because after they run away with it and eat (I've had longnose gar take off 75 yards before actually taking the bait) you'll have an easier time setting the hook well.

      SpiderWire TH-cam Don't listen to his lame feedback! BlackTipH on TH-cam "Shark angler" has stated its the strongest braid out there and he isn't even sponsored by you. I've used this for years and NEVER had a problem.

      miamiwax I watch them do a no knott test Power Pro versus invisi braid from spiderwire it beat powerpro all to pieces

      Bought Power Pro, ended up taking it off and putting Spiderwire back on. Much better casting on my spinning reel. The 20 lb test invisi braid rocks.
