This doesn’t resolve the issue… you’ve just explained how to turn it on, not fix the bug.
It actually works, you just need to put your phone horizontal on like a nightstand but DO NOT HOLD YOU WITH YOUR HANDS.

Yeah agreed, I don’t there is a fix, it’s flakey as hell, so,times works sometimes doesn’t, does not remember the clock face I select, randomly changes time zone. Really great idea, but full of bugs on the iPhone 13 Pro.

4. Standby mode works now!

it’s really annoying mines completely bugged and i can’t edit it anymore also the world clock keeps on changing to american time
It works on my iPhone 12 Pro but the clock shows the hour of Cupertino and not my location.

Long press on the clock and click on the jiggling clock, it will flip the card and you can see the edit menu
I’m able to get the clock feature, but suddenly I’m not able to get the clock on the left side and then the calendar on the right. How do we get that back?
Same here. I can get into standby mode just fine. But the widgets are just showing a default time and the calendar is a box of 30 - lines representing a calendar shape.
@@karma13612 my phone has not been acting right at all for a while now. I got the new update and everything on my phone is messed up. It takes an act to Congress to get into my emails as well.

SOLVED, I had the same issue but already went though all the steps he mentioned. I guess it’s a bug I turned off and back on my iPhone and it’s working again. Hope this helps
It worked since the beginning in my case BUT even worse it was showing the wrong time. At some point it got stuck at 3.05am… fortunately, I got off bed
When I actually sat it down on the side it worked. Cheers!

I did have in standby mode when it wasn’t charging today unfortunately unsure how I did it 🤯

Older models like xs max just need to be re awakened. Just nudge the table it’s on and it reawakenes.
Tilting it at an angle seems to have worked for me( imitating a stand or kickstand)

Agreed! I have a 15 and was super excited for Standby mode but why even have the option if it doesn't always stay on? Irritating.

Useless feature for standby mode I have to charge my phone does that make any sense. Apple is not innovating anything new just copied from android. 😡
Phone needs to be locked when u put it on a charger in landscape. Just make sure faceid isn’t unlocking your phone when u put it on. This worked for me.
You are the reason mine works consistently now. I never realized my phone was unlocked when it wasn’t working!

I have 14 pro and it works and stays on during the day, but at night shuts off after 20 seconds or whatever, not on sleep focus or anything, can't figure out to save my life.

@@bikerbill7 Right, I know I can wave my hand, but I'm trying to ditch my nightstand clock that I can just look at without waving (first world problem, I know). All the descriptions imply 'Always On', if you have 14 pro, not 'Sometimes On'. Also I don't understand why it would be always on during the day (even in the dark), but not at night. If this is Apple's intent, it's very odd and poorly explained.
It’s because you have sleep focus on. Standby Always On display wont work with low power mode. Ensure to customize your sleep focus to turn OFF the low power mode.
@@EKBNE No focus is on at all, not in low power mode, always on display enabled, etc., I've tried everything. As it says in the Always On option under StandBy settings "the display will intelligently turn off when not in use". Either Apple's intent or a bug still.

its working but only for few moments , then screen goes black again
Gently nudge the table the phone is on. Works fine to re-wake the mode.
Regretting downloading this iios17 update. Night mode sideways on stand and shows clock minus 8 hours and won’t change. Lost all avatars for messages. Really annoying plus battery life much less 😡 get it sorted Apple!
Long press on the clock and edit it by clicking the mini clock that comes up

If you have “standby” on all night you will be at 100% by morning?

It just stops charging at 100%. The phones have smart technology to prevent overcharging.
