      So you believe ìts acceptable to call upon other than Allah for help, or ask the dead in the graves? This is far from the aqeedah of ahlus sunnah.

      I saw that debate and I personally don't consider myself a follower of either camp, but what I came out with is that one shouldn't risk anything like asking anyone else other than Allah for anything. Pascal's wager applies heavily here. Why risk something so enormous when I have trouble waking up for tahajjud regularly?

    Alhamdulillah! Shaykh's debate with Abdurrahman saved me. I was going between many things and had been brainwashed with Salafis. I was walking around in the house thinking I shouldn''t be praying with my family at home, their prayer is not accepted etc. Then I said to myself that this is Shaytan, how come I can think of such thing! Then I kept praying Allah to show me the way, if I am on the wrong path, make me aware of it and put me on the right path, But if I am on the right path make me aware of it and make me hold on to it.
    Then I started to do research and came across that debate. I told myself and prayed that I must watch this with an open heart, without holding any side (5 hours debate a long one) And prayed Allah to guide me. At the time I didn't know anything about neither sides. As I watch the debate I started to realize, the other part is just making false claims, and not answering questions.
    After that debate things has become more clearer to me. I did more research and history research as well.
    Alhamdulillah, now I do the same prayer about guidance, when I recite Al-Fatiha, i contemplate upon the meaning of it.. And now my heart is content Alhamdulillah. May Allah guide us all, especially the sincere ones

    Really interesting interview, really enjoyed it. Wanted to add my 2 pence worth on a few issues;
    1. Inflation - The real way to control inflation is to limit profiteering on essentials. Food (in its fresh form), energy, public transport, healthcare, education, even a basic level of housing should be at cost price. These shouldn't be industries people make huge profits on. Bread should always be cheap, make your profits on cake. Supermarkets should be cheap, restaurants can be expensive. The bus/train should be cheap, let flights and cruises be expensive.
    2. Growth following unpegged economies - the growth was built on debt and by printing money that didn't exist. Since then govt borrowing around the world has got higher and higher. It's at the levels now where economies run on the promise that it might one day be paid, but on the expectation that it probably won't.

    Blockchain technology is often criticized for being haram because the currencies it produces have no intrinsic value. Instead, their value is based on market cap and supply, which can lead to extractive behavior and speculation. In contrast, Holochain allows for the creation of asset-backed mutual credit currencies that have intrinsic value and are based on the principle of mutual credit. This is more aligned with Islamic principles, as it encourages cooperation and mutual support rather than speculation and extractive behavior.
    One of the key differences between Holochain and blockchain is the way they handle scalability. Blockchain technology relies on consensus and a data-centric approach, which can create bottlenecks when it comes to scaling applications. Holochain, on the other hand, is agent-centric and mimics nature, with each app having its own DNA and agents keeping records of their own chain. Witnesses maintain the consistency of the system, which allows for greater scalability and efficiency.
    Another important feature of Holochain is its immune system, which helps to prevent attacks and maintain the integrity of the system. This immune system is based on the principles of redundancy, diversity, and adaptation, and helps to ensure that the system remains secure and stable over time.
    When it comes to asset-backed mutual credit currencies, Holochain offers a unique design that is more aligned with Islamic principles. These currencies are based on the principle of mutual credit, which means that they are created by the community and backed by the assets of the community. The net supply of these currencies is always zero, which helps to prevent inflation, and the active supply breathes with the economy, which helps to ensure that the currency remains stable over time.
    Holochain offers many benefits over traditional blockchain technology, including greater scalability, efficiency, and security, as well as the ability to create asset-backed mutual credit currencies that are more aligned with Islamic principles. Whether you are interested in building decentralized applications or simply want to learn more about the potential of this exciting new technology, Holochain is definitely worth exploring further.
    To add:
    Both blockchain currencies and fiat currencies are often considered "fake money" because they are created out of thin air and have no intrinsic value. In contrast, asset-backed mutual credit currencies are based on real assets and represent a real economy.
    With Holochain, it is possible to create asset-backed mutual credit currencies that are based on the principle of mutual credit. These currencies are created by the community and backed by the assets of the community, which gives them real value and helps to prevent inflation.
    The mutual credit system is a real economy that is based on cooperation and mutual support rather than speculation and extractive behavior. This is more in line with Islamic principles, which promote cooperation and mutual support over individualism and greed.
    Holochain offers a unique opportunity to create a real economy that is based on real assets and real value, rather than speculation and extractive behavior.

    I think the problem Shaykh had here respectfully is not everything in Islam needs rationalising. The point of Gold vs paper currency. Yes, it is true to say that Gold has greater intrinsic value to us right now as it has functional uses outside of a value exchange as compared to paper currency wherein the paper could be burned for example (cough cough plastic UK notes now though!). The point was, let's say there is a certain level of Gold in the world, and it can only be found in certain places therefore new supplies are limited by geography and ability to extract into the market. This wouldn't stop governments hoarding and releasing/taking back Gold into their reserves to change its relative value just like paper currency where more is printed. Gold does however offer greater stability over longer terms and if it was universally traded globally then it would be relatively far more difficult to manipulate its relative value.

    • @ifty9964
      @ifty9964 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's why Shaykh was advocating the caliphate. If there's no nation-state system and the world follows the basic rules of islam, then you wouldn't see golds being hoarded in certain areas. Rather it would be distributed according to demand and productivity of the people.

      Not true, because crypto is backed by sentiment and market psychology
      Stocks are actual divisions of a companies value, which generate profit

    About nuclear weapons - they are abhorant, I think militarily today they are essential as a detterent for weaker nations. If you can compete at a conventional level with the strongest of nations, then you wouldn't need them. Anyone who uses them will be commiting a sin, though it may be a neccasary sin to win a dunya based goal.

  • @TanzilRehman

    I understand islam doesn’t advocate “absolute growth/productivity”. But how do you define it? For obvious reason, you have compete in resources against rival states/kingdoms/civilisations. Otherwise, like ottomons you could be turn into sick man of Europe. The idea is that you have complete in resources of power in order maintain existence of state, whether islamic or otherwise

    unconvincing responses or discussions in the following points : the difference between gold backed currency and crypto. the current life standards globally are better because of capitalism not because technical advances. workers have better representation and rights under Islamic ruling v.s. capitalism . May Allah protect the Shaikh but this is clearly not his domain. I don't blame him, you can't discuss hypothetical (Salaf economy) without actual practice.

    Fear God you questioner. In you children and wealth is a FITNA! The poor muslims will enter Patadise 500 YEARS before the rich muslims.
    Everyone: be patient and greatful with what we gave, stop having kids you cannot give proper Tarbiyah to and focus on After-Life rather than this life and if its too difficult you need to do Hijrah. Also poor people who waste time remain poor but those who work hard persistently will Insha-Allah escape poverty.
