Love your passion, thoughtful planning, and combination of large scale and fine-grain thinking. Best cities skylines videos out there that dont make you go "Whyyyyy???".
instead of using pedestrian paths for docks, i've been using wooden benches placed side by side with the line tool to create more authentic wooden docks and then placing wooden logs/ poles to create the supports. just an idea!
Nice, for the school park you might want to have a little more green or at least tree because the student are going to be cooked alive in the summer with that much surface without shade and that like to retain the heat
@@skilzthatkilz11 The courtyard too, concrete love to heat up in the summer, at my job we have a concrete slab between 3 glass wall (building) and the average heat is like 10c above ambient lol, it is a a mini solar furnace
Do you think it would be better to flip the direction the hospital is facing, so that the entrances + ambulances aren’t directly crossing the tram line? Also, maybe an on-ramp on the other side of the highway would be good, and help clean up what is a bit of a messy exit ramp. Awesome video! Love the new assets
A second skyline next to the university would feel very Vancouver - meshes with the new architecture found in the university and it would transition nicely across the river
That's the plan! Been calling it the "New City" offhandedly, while the current downtown will be the "Old City". Really hoping we get custom assets for it soon!
@@skilzthatkilz11 Awesome! I think some increased height here would be awesome, very neat old-new contrast possible there. Could be worth taking a look at the Japan pack?
I would also add a slip lane into downtown on the highway or else you have you drive all the way to the other bridge. Now its fine but when the new downtown develops itll be a nightmare hahahaha
@@skilzthatkilz11 I meant from the U district up the highway right across the river. Obviously a second full interchange closer to the new downtown would be needed. But I figured you would be already planning on doing so. PS love this series 🤞 greetings from Vitoria-Gasteiz
Ah I see, yes good call. Was thinking maybe I should do a local access bridge next to the tram bridge as well. We have that in Seattle, a smaller bridge under the I5 bridge that goes over the lake here
You may want to double check that the University isnt assigned to just the U District. It wont serve the whole city if it is. All in all, another great build! Love the use of the french assets in the new area
Love this kind of content, awesome job! I have a question, have you talked about what mods you're using in an episode or do you have your playlist available somewhere? And would you consider upload a save game of your city? :D
Hey! Yep I keep an updated mods list on my community page, and I have a semi-frequently updated save file in PDX mods here: mods.paradoxplaza.com/mods/95134/Any. This one is up to date with Ep 25!
you could try carrying the straight edge of the ports on with the quay wall by like 20m or so and then start an angled section to meet the other straight edge from the other port, if that made sense? Basically that like recess how it is in the intro here just feels off somehow?
@@skilzthatkilz11 I presumed it was intentional but just wanted to question the reasoning. Obviously can't curve it straight off the edge of the asset due to like boats turning and lining up against the harbour wall but indent did feel unusual
Lol love it. I'll give it a few days and if there are a couple more, will try my first YT poll. But this is the first! All the teams should be sponsored by Mountain Dew

LETS GOOO THE KING UPLOADEDDD
Great episode as always! The only thing I'd redo is that highway exit from the harbor direction and also add a highway entrance
Yeah that offramp definitely needs another look...

That is super creative! I gotta give that a shot, thanks!

I think that would fill it out nicely, yeah! (And do you mean the courtyard too, or just the grassy areas?)

Oh dang yes that makes sense! That feels rather precarious now that you point it out. And yeah that exit ramp def needs another pass haha
Brother your building skill is perfect thanks for the series.
Greetings from Poland🎉😊
Greetings! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the reply
City is looking so good !
Thanks!

Literally just downloaded it! But yes, the New City will definitely be taller.

Into the "new" downtown, right?

Yep I assigned it to the whole city!
Big fan!
great build man
Thanks!
for realism you should add the sand textures back to the inside banks of the river were sediment would be deposited as the river slowed to turn.
Great work again, thank u
Thanks for watching!
Your city is beautiful and I'm jealous....
Amazing build!
Thanks!!
“Dewniversity” had me legit giggling for minutes.
Suggestion for small town: Winslow. It will serve as a farming and forestry town with a bypass around it
11:59 you haaavvee to make a park out of that triangle bro…
Lol too late 😔
Love your Videos!
Do you have a Modlist?
Thanks! And yes, I have a post on my community page, will make sure it's up to date today

Hmm by the oil processing facility you mean? Like make it a gentler angle than 90?
@@skilzthatkilz11 I mean between the two ports specifically
oh jeez i totally didn't notice that, yeah a continuous edge that makes more sense, thanks for the call out!

Is that mod Lumina you're using, the graphics look so nice?
Yes it is! Think it's around 0.8 post exposure, then around 40 saturation and contrast.
Can we name the sports team the Dew Drops please, lol

You think a five way crossing with lights coming from a highway is better for traffic than a roundabout?
Eh, maybe not traffic flow but felt safer. That entire exit ramp probably needs another look anyway haha
@@skilzthatkilz11 For sure, but other than that beautiful build.
The Marlins for the mascot 😂 love the campus so far, I would to see it be just a little bigger though.
Ah the Marlins, so good!
