I remember my ADHD test taking double the time it was supposed to because I ‘couldn’t focus on basic questions or tasks’. There was an entire A4 page listing the things I got distracted by. 😂

I was diagnosed with adhd as a young adult. It’s a curse and taking my adderall is not a magical cure but it definitely helps. I still run late everywhere I go. I still constantly (almost daily) lose things like my keys, debit card, phone etc. There is a lot of comorbidity with ADHD- which is why it’s so hard to diagnose.

I am actually amazed at how accurate your description of having ADHD is like! I've watched your 2 psychologist videos more than any ASMR video from any creator. They don't give me any sort of ASMR triggers or whatever but they're so much more important. It's like an actual therapy session, but with a friend. We all need that sometimes. Your voice, cadence, thoughtfulness, and intellect put a large percentage of actual therapists to shame.

The "itch where you cant reach on your back" analogy is really good. As an adult with ADHD (who does not respond well to medication), it can be almost impossible to stay on task at some points in time. I appreciate you making this video to help people understand what its like for some people like myself who are not lazy but can struggle mightly to focus on things for long periods.

Ive enjoyed your content for a long time now Matt, and i think the introduction alone sums up why. So much time taken to provide information and set the scene. I feel like asmr as a whole has gone into really fast / crazy stuff, and i'm finding it more difficult to find slower paced relaxing content.
Theres a certain irony in a video about adhd being one of the few that isnt paced at breakneck speed. No gimmicks, no clickbait, just proper high quality asmr. Great video 👍

I find that ADHD being the only diagnosis is either it was more numerous or popular to have. It would make much more sense for ADD to be primary and have a hyperactive modifier. It is the same as people using decimate when they actually mean devastate.

I was diagnosed early on about 13 years old but one benefit from ADHD is that once I set my mind on something I won’t give up easily. But I can relate it is a burden to bare a psychological disorder like that. Also, like the other ASMR gentlemen I’ve listened to and seen the tingles from their tone of whispering is quite relaxing

As someone who grew up with ADHD, I appreciate the content. Education was difficult, when you can't absorb the information; if it even crosses the barrier. I did well considering, but not nearly as well as I would have liked. It's one of many mental disorders that I wish got more clarification and explanation. Dumb as it sounds that's always why I liked video games, it was one of the few things that kept me focused long enough to not fidget or get distracted.
